highlighted the diverse locations on all six regularly inhabited continents
where the Chabad movement has a presence -- from Bolivia to Laos to the Congo.
The movement’s female emissaries -- spouses of the male emissaries -- had a
separate conference in January.

It’s that distinct gait of Chabad Shluchim that makes it easy to pick
them out in a crowd, even in a crowd of black hats. A chipper confidence and a
can-do spirit tempered by an awareness that
they’ve got a critical part to play in a production with ramifications
larger than even their big imaginations.

Hard to translate from the Yiddish, but that, in fact, was the theme of
this year’s International Conference of Chabad Shluchim which wrapped up
Sunday evening.
Making the guest list of the banquet session were a number of well-known
Jewish leaders who joined Chabad representatives. They listened intently as UK
Chief Rabbi Lord Jonathan Sacks talked about the lessons he took from the
Lubavitcher Rebbe, “one of the greatest Jewish leaders, not just of our
time, but of all time,” in cultivating his own sense of Jewish
responsibility and leadership.
In 1967, then a 22 year old Cambridge sophomore, Sacks had come for an
appointment with the Rebbe, hoping to get his responses to “intellectual and
philosophical questions,” then on his mind.
The young Sacks hadn’t bargained for a challenge.
“The Rebbe gave me intellectual, philosophical responses to my questions.
And then he began asking me questions. ‘How many Jewish students are there
at Cambridge? What are you doing to reach out to them?’”
Caught unawares, Sacks tried to squirm his way out of
the challenge as any good Englishman might do. “The English can construct
more complex excuses for doing nothing than anyone else on earth,” he
admitted, garnering laughter. So he began to extricate himself from these
questions by telling the Rebbe, “In the situation in which I find myself . .
.” But the Rebbe interrupted him midsentence:
“No one finds themselves in a situation. You put yourself in a situation,
and if you put yourself in that situation, you can put yourself in another
situation.”
The Rebbe’s challenge, not to accept the situation, but to change it,
“was a moment,” the Chief Rabbi said, “that changed my life.” It was
his lesson number 1 in Jewish leadership.
Rabbi Sacks’s 30-minute keynote address, packed with pithy lines and
weighty ideas, was both an ode to the Rebbe and a powerful primer on Jewish
leadership. He sought the Rebbe’s guidance at critical junctures in his
educational and professional career, and gave up various ambitions to follow
the Rebbe’s advice, to become a congregational rabbi and train rabbis
because Anglo Jewry, said
the Rebbe, was short of rabbis.

Using his platform at the BBC,
the Chief Rabbi took up the Rebbe's campaign and began reaching out to
non-Jews, teaching the Seven Noahide Laws. The experience, he said,
taught him “not only the wisdom, the vast foresight of the Rebbe in
understanding that the world was ready to hear a Jewish message, but it taught
me—and I want you never to forget these words, that:

embarrassed by Jews who are embarrassed by Judaism.”

The banquet, at Pier 12 in the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal, drew people of
vastly different backgrounds, among them non-traditional, non observant. But

Indeed, there are, said Rabbi Sacks, “hundreds of organizations fighting
anti-semitism.” But they fall short, he said.

The banquet dinner for 4,600 came at the end of a 5-day conference that
brought Chabad emissaries from the far-flung parts of the globe together at
Lubavitch Headquarters. A rare opportunity for them to draw more energy and
inspiration for their life’s work, they spend a good part of the Conference
sharing heart-to-heart conversations. For many, especially those in distant
places where Jewish life is thin, loneliness is a constant.

Leading the conference, Rabbi Moshe Kotlarsky of Lubavitch Headquarters
explained this year’s conference theme “Es geht a Chossid.” Difficult to
translate from the Yiddish, the idea is that one can identify a Chabad
emissary by something as mundane as their “walk.”
It’s that carriage that exudes confidence and purposefulness, and a
perpetual awareness that there’s yet more, so much more still to do. For
those who remember, it’s a walk not unlike the steady, quick clip of the
Rebbe’s gait.
“We will never manage to do it fully, but we will do our best to walk as
he walked,” said Rabbi Sacks in his closing comments, urging his listeners
to embrace Jewish leadership as the Rebbe did, by creating others who will
lead, and by recognizing that despite Chabad’s great achievements in
transforming Jewish life, the work is far from completed.
“In the silence of our souls we can hear what the Rebbe would be saying
to us now: 'You think you’ve done enough? There is always more of the
mountain to climb.'”

A recently published book written by a Skvere
hasidic rabbi and endorsed by the Skvere Rebbe
himself tells Skvere hasidim and other Jews to hate all
gentiles. Gentiles are wholly evil, the book says. They spiritually
pollute the world, and even looking at their faces is harmful.

The book is called Yalkut Shaiylos u'Teshuvos. As the title
indicates, it is a collection of questions and answers on halakhic topics.
The questions were asked by young Skvere yeshiva students in New
Square, New York. The answers are rabbinic.
The section translated below is titled, "Goyyim" and it
explains the Skvere hasidic view of non-Jews, citing among other sources,
the Skvere Rebbe himself.
The anti-gentile hatred is based on rabbinic
sources. Those sources are heavily influenced
by kabbalah and by hasidic thought.
A similar attitude toward non-Jews can be found in the Tanya, the
so-called bible (Talmudic Babble) of Chabad
hasidic thought written by the first rebbe of Chabad, Schneur Zalman of
Liadi, and reprinted thousands of times by Chabad worldwide.
The translation was made by the noted filmmaker Menachem Daum, who sent
it to me along with the scans of the book posted below and requested that I
post it.

Question: Is it appropriate to not love, or to hate, a gentile?
Answer: A Jew is intrinsically good. A Jew is a part of God
above. Even if at times he strays it is not because he has become
evil. It is only that there is evil within him that he has to
cleanse.
However, to separate with a million degrees of separation, a
gentile is an impure thing.

As is also well known, even educated gentiles who guarded themselves
because of their clear understanding of what is right, nonetheless failed
when they were tested, because a gentile has no power for goodness within
him.
On the contrary, the evil thoughts of gentiles contaminate the world’s
atmosphere and create ordeals for Jewish children. As the Remnant for
Pinchos {i.e., the author of the book Sheairit L’Pinchas} says, the
thoughts of gentiles, even when they are dead, still linger in and
contaminate the atmosphere.
He says that to be protected from this there is only one solution; to
completely despise the thoughts of gentiles and to realize that all their
thoughts are only evil. (Hate doesn’t mean wanting to do something to a
gentile, but it means not being able to tolerate him, not being able to
stand him, because of his great impurity, especially when one realizes how
harmful this {impurity} is {to Jews and to the world}.) Understandably,
loving a gentile is the exact opposite of this.
The Holy Light of Life {i.e., the author of the book Ohr HaHayyim} says
that for a person to be totally protected from evil he must hate the thing
that has caused him to sin. This is why God commanded to uproot the trees
of Midian. Since the Midianites caused the Jews to sin with the Peor idol,
so therefore Jews must hate everything connected to Midian. Consequently,
gentiles, whose thoughts bring upon us ordeals, may be hated.
So also the Holy Light of Life {i.e., the author of the book Ohr HaHayyim}
writes, in the portion of Vayigash {in his book entitled Oh HaHayyim},
that the nature of the righteous ones is to hate
gentiles.
Speaking of gentiles it is worth mentioning two points. First, with
respect to conversing with a gentile: a gentile is impure, as we have
mentioned, and he defiles one who speaks to him and this brings evil upon
a person. (Except when one is forced to do so because then, as is
explained by the Enlightener of the Eyes {i.e., the author of the book
Me’or Eynayim}, we thereby extract the little bit of good which has
fallen into the gentile, since everything in the world is a mixture of
evil and good.)
Especially if one converses with friendship, because the texts tell us
that when two people speak with affection then a portion of each one’s
soul becomes connected to the other and no one wants to become connected
to a gentile, God forbid. (Understandably, when one must converse
one must do so like a human being. However, in his heart one should
not love him. And it is worth knowing that “it is a well-known law
that Esau [the gentile] hates Jacob [the Jew].” The gentile hates you.
It is only because of his ulterior motives that he is talking in a
friendly manner, because it is in his best interests to do so at this
moment, because of his job or for tens of others reasons. Even the
righteous gentiles among the nations are often so because they hate
inhumanity and murder but not because they love Jews.)
The second point is; one is not to concentrate on the face of a gentile.
As the Willows of the Valley {the author of the book Arvei Nahal} writes
on the Talmudic passage,
“it is forbidden to look upon the face of an evildoer”, because the
other side [the devil] {the sitra achra} cloaks himself in the guise of an
evildoer and it is a danger to look at him. This passage refers to a Jew
who has, God forbid, become an evildoer. Certainly, beyond any doubt, a
gentile whose whole nature is essentially evil, looking at his appearance
is defiling.
In the Abbreviated Set Table {Kitzur Shulkhan Arukh} it states that if one
sees beautiful creatures, even a gentile, one makes a blessing. The
Abbreviated Set Table {Kitzur Shulkhan Arukh}adds this is only if one
caught a casual glimpse, however concentrating on a gentile is forbidden.
Once, in middle of the night, The Perfumed Bed {the author of the book
Arugot Haboshem} sent a messenger to his son, the Jacob Speaks {i.e., the
author of the book Vayagid Yaakov}, requesting he should immediately come
over. He quickly came running and the Perfumed Bed {the author of the book
Arugot Haboshem} looked upon him and told him he can now leave. He only
called upon him since a gentile doctor was there earlier and he didn’t
want that the last thing he sees before he sleeps to be a gentile, so he
called him only to take a look at him.

Is Chabad breaking the law?

What you'll see below are two brief videos shot today in Crown Heights.
Chabad-Lubavitch is holding its International Conference of Shluchim
(official Chabad representatives) (SOS) in
Crown Heights. A meeting was held during that convention and attended by
approximately 50 Chabad shluchim from across the US. It was held in a
classroom of Oholei Menachem, the school started by the late
Chabad-Lubavitch Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, located at 667 Eastern
Parkway. It featured convicted felon Sholom Rubashkin's lead attorney Nathan
Lewin.
The meeting took place at the same time and in the same building as a
resource fair that is an official part of the convention but which features
"outside" vendors who pay for space to display their products.
However this meeting was not held in the same room as the resource fair
and does not appear to have been an official part of it.
Instead, the meeting was held in classroom located on a floor above the
resource fair, and it was attended by Chabad shluchim
from across the country.
Rubashkin, the former VP of Agriprocessors and a
leading member of the Chabad community, was convicted on 86 felony
counts of bank fraud and related crimes in 2009. His appeal and his
subsequent request for an en banc hearing were denied. His legal team is
currently preparing to appeal to the US Supreme Court.
Choose and their proselytes
The meeting was meant to update Chabad shluchim on the Rubashkin case and
to coordinate political efforts by those shluchim to obtain Rubashkin's
release.
In the first video, you'll hear a Chabad rabbi address the meeting and
say that at first, Rubashkin's Chabad advocates had trouble getting
congresspeople to exert pressure for Rubashkin. But because we're now in
election season these congress
people are now contacting Chabad shluchim and asking to speak in Chabad
Houses and Chabad Synagogues.
BECAUSE these TREASONOUS Vipers in CONGRESS knows

They also can't do what these Chabad shluchim are trying to do – using
access to their congregations and photo ops with religious leaders as a quid
pro quo granted to politicians in return for specific political favors.
(I.e., things like: "I'll let you speak at my synagogue, I'll hook you
up with wealthy donors and I'll pose for pictures with you and publicize
them – but I'll do all this only
if you get me government money. But if you don't try hard to get me
that money, I won't let you speak to my membership and I won't do anything
to support your reelection. I'll deny you access to my members or schedule
you when the fewest number of people will attend. And I won't introduce you
to any wealthy potential donors.")
It seems to me that Chabad should lose its tax exempt status for doing
this.

the handpicked audience how to deal with claims of child sex abuse in a way
that skirts mandatory reporting law. And he claimed the Brooklyn DA,
Charles Hynes, personally approved this end around.

The closed-door meeting
held during Agudath Israel of America's annual conference was by invitation
only.
Only rabbis of synagogues were invited. Only they allowed to attend.
Agudah security people manned the door. An Agudah member, Avram Nissen
Pearl approached anyone Agudah officials did not recognize and checked their
IDs. Those people not pre-approved were told to leave.
Rabbi Shmuel Kamentzky, Agudah's number two rabbi, attended the entire session
but did not speak.
Agudath Israel of America's Executive VP, Rabbi David Zwiebel, attended
part of the meeting. Zwiebel is also an attorney and was previously Agudah's
counsel.
Agudah's current General Counsel, Rabbi Mordechai Biser, made the
presentation.
According to haredi sources at the Agudah convention who fear retribution
and who requested anonymity to protect themselves and their families, this is
what Biser told rabbis to do if they are told about possible child sex abuse:
1. A congregant or someone else tells a rabbi that he suspects that a child
has been sexually abused. (This child could be the congregant's child or a
neighbor's child or a student of the congregant or even a patient of the
congregant.)
2. The rabbi asks the congregant why he believes this.
3. The congregant answers that question.
4. The rabbi tells the congregant to stay silent and allow the rabbi to
handle the situation.
5. The rabbi decides whether the information he was given by the congregant
rises to the level of raglayim l'davar, reasonable suspicion under Jewish law
that the abuse may have taken place.
6. If the rabbi thinks what he has been told by the congregant meets or
exceeds the bar of raglayim l'davar, the rabbi – not
the congregant – reports the suspect abuse to a liason at the Brooklyn
DA's office, not to police
or to ACS (state child protection services). (This keeps trained forensic
child sex abuse investigators out of the case unless the DA's office chooses
to involve them. This allows the DA to fix cases without cops and ACS knowing
the details. The rabbi serves as point man for the case, and the congregant
– even if he is the alleged victim's parent – does not speak with or deal
with the DA's office, police or ACS unless the rabbi involves him.)
WOE to you VIPERS who has warned you to flee the

7. If the rabbi does not
think what he has been told by the congregant meets or exceeds the bar of
raglayim l'davar, no report is made by him, and the congregant is told to
remain silent, to not call
police or ACS because doing so would violate halakha (and would
presumably lead to reprisals from the community – reprisals many victims and
victims' families and advocates have already suffered.)
8. Brooklyn's District Attorney, Charles Hynes,
approved this system, including allowing rabbis to act as gatekeepers for
child sex abuse allegations and to have those rabbis control contact between
the congregant and law enforcement.
What this system does is allow haredi rabbis to determine which claims of
suspected child sex abuse get properly investigated and which do not.
It also allows the DA to keep police, ACS and, perhaps as importantly if
not more so, the media, out of the loop.
This allows the DA to quietly plead out haredi pedophiles to lesser charges
that don't require prison time or placement on sex offender registries, and it
allows haredi rabbis to shield their community from the public scrutiny it
would certainly get if a wave of haredi pedophiles and other sex criminals
were properly arrested and prosecuted.
The liaison at the DA's office is most probably Henna
White, who is known as a fixer of haredi domestic violence cases and, more
recently, haredi sex crimes.
White makes deals that allegedly have abusive husband's get therapy at OHEL
in exchange for their wives dropping the criminal complaints against them.
Sometimes the husband pleads to a reduced charge, serves no prison time and
has his criminal record expunged a few months later.
Many of these abusive spouses go on to beat their wives again.
I've been told White also does this in cases of alleged child sex abuse.
The pedophile is sent to OHEL for treatment, he pleads to a lesser charge or
charges are dropped entirely, the pedophile is not placed on sex offender
registries and his free access to children is undisturbed.
OHEL is allegedly complicit in this as is Hynes himself – and so are
haredi rabbis, who use White's services, provided to them by and endorsed by
Brooklyn's elected DA, Charles Hynes.
White plays a key role in Kol Tzedek, Hynes' attempt to reach out to haredi
rabbis and to bring them into the process of haredi child sex abuse
prosecution. What you have just read is an outline of how Kol Tzedek is
allegedly being run.
Does reporting suspected child sex abuse to a liaison of the Brooklyn DA
fulfil New York State's mandatory reporting law?
No. From what I've seen, it does not.
What Charles Hynes is allegedly doing is allowing haredim to skirt
mandatory reporting laws. At the same time, he is perverting the spirit and
intent of those laws and he is endangering children in the process.
Hynes might argue that some cooperation from haredi rabbis, no matter how
minor, is an improvement, and what he doing will allow him to prosecute some
haredi pedophiles he otherwise would not be able to touch.
But the truth is, the system Hynes has allegedly approved will allow
pedophiles to escape prosecution or to escape meaningful prosecution, and will
let them loose to offend again. And it will also hurt those few inside the
haredi community and the activists outside it who have tried, often at
considerable risk, to get haredi pedophiles arrested and prosecuted.

Therapy for pedophilia rarely works. Pedophiles have an extremely high
recidivism rate, and pedophilia is one of the most under-reported crimes.

mechanism.
The average pedophile molests well over 100 children

Former U.S. President George W. Bush has cancelled a
visit to Switzerland over fears he could have been arrested on torture charges.
Mr Bush was due to be the keynote
speaker at a Jewish charity gala in Geneva on February 12.
But pressure has been building on the Swiss government to arrest him and open
a criminal investigation if he enters the country.
Criminal complaints against Mr Bush alleging torture have been lodged in
Geneva, court officials said.
Human rights groups said they had intended to submit a 2,500-page case
against him in the Swiss city tomorrow for alleged mistreatment of suspected
militants at Guantanamo Bay.

The USS Bush enters Syrian waters
The Syrian crisis aassumed a big power dimension this week with the
build-up of rival United States and Russia naval air carrier armadas in Syrian
waters, debkafile's
military sources report.
The USS George H.W. Bush arrived Wednesday, Nov. 23, in the wake
of the three Russian warships anchored earlier opposite Tartus which
established a command post in the Syrian port. They will be augmented by
Russia's only air carrier the Admiral Kuznetsov, which is due in
mid-week.
By deploying 70 ship-borne fighter-bombers plus three heavy guided missile
cruisers and five guided missile destroyers opposite Syria, Washington has
laid down military support for any intervention the Arab League in conjunction
with Turkey may decide on.
Bashar Assad can see for himself that Washington has hoisted a nuclear
aerial umbrella to protect its allies, Israel, Turkey, and Jordan,
against the retaliation his armed forces high command pledged Friday for the deaths
of six Syrian air force elite pilots in an ambush Thursday.
For some time, Ankara has been weighing the creation of a protected haven
for rebels and refugees inside Syria. France has proposed slicing
"humanitarian corridors" through Syria for them to flee safely from
military tank and gunfire and secure supply of food, medicines and other
essential supplies to the cities under army siege.
Both plans would depend on being safeguarded by substantial ground and air
strength inside Syria which would certainly face fierce resistance from

While Washington clearly stands ready to back operations against the Assad
regime, Moscow is drawing a red line around his presidential palace in
Damascus. The Kremlin is warning the US, NATO and the Arab League

The US military has built a stone circle in its Air Force academy to give
pagans, druids and witches somewhere to practice their religion.
The Colorado base has spent around £50,000 building the
Stonehenge-like structure to allow witches to cast spells, and pagans to
form "circles of power" by night.

The academy says it is for cadets who practice 'Earth based'
religions including druids, witches and North American faiths.
