SMELL AND MOSHIACH

Yirmiyahu refers to the Moshiach as the “breath of our noses” (Eichah 4:24). And the word “Moshiach” itself means literally “anointed”, referring to the fragrant oil used to anoint a Jewish king. We could add that one sign of the true Moshiach is that he will be able to “smell and judge” - to determine the guilt and innocence of defendants by directly sensing their inner nature (Sanhedrin 93b).

Mashiach, "the anointed one," is the most elevated of the names with which we refer to Mashiach. For that name has the connotation of greatness, as Rashi[48] comments: "To anoint him for greatness."

Moreover, anointment is a reflection of inner distinction. For that reason, a king is anointed only at the beginning of a dynasty (i.e., because of his own unique advantages). Anointment does not relate to qualities transmitted because of one's lineage. For that reason, we do not anoint a king whose father was a king (Horios 11b) unless there is was a dispute concerning the matter and, nevertheless, one was chosen. In such an instance, anointing the son of the king highlights the essential advantages the chosen son possesses.

The name "the descendant of David," by contrast, points to a positive quality Mashiach possesses that is not due to his own essential nature, but rather is inherited from his ancestors. For that reason, he is not referred by his own name, but by that of his ancestors, as we see in the names ben Zakkai, ben Zoma, and ben Azzai.

Therefore, "the descendant of David" is the lowest of the names with which Mashiach is referred. Accordingly, whenever the inferior level of the generation of Mashiach and the difficulties that it will face are mentioned, our Sages use the term "the descendant of David." {An exception which requires clarification is the conclusion of tractate Sotah which speaks of brazenness increasing in "[the generation when] the footsteps of Mashiach [can be heard]."}

The concept that the name "descendant of David" reflects the lowest level of Mashiach is intimated, not only by the fact that it uses the term "descendant of," but also that it refers to the name David.

The term ben, translated as "descendant of," can also mean "possessing the quality of" as in the term ben chorin which means "free man," [i.e., possessing the quality of freedom]. Similarly, the term ben David means not only "descendant of David," but also that he possesses David's quality and nature. David is identified with humility and bittul, as it is written:[49] "I am a worm," "David was the smallest,"[50] "And if He will say: 'I do not desire you,' here I am. Let Him do to me as is good in His eyes."[51] For David is identified with bittul and mesirus nefesh.

These two names represent two extremes within Mashiach. Mashiach will be elevated, as it is written:[52] "My servant will succeed. He will be exalted, elevated, and uplifted exceedingly high," i.e., higher than Avraham, as stated in the Zohar, Vol. I, p. 181b. On the other hand, he will possess great bittul. (See Derech Mitzvosecha, mitzvas minui melech.)

Based on the above explanations, we can understand our Sages' statement quoted at the outset. The expression: "The descendant of David will not come until they will search for a fish for a sick person and it will be impossible to find one" can be explained in two ways, paralleling another statement of our Sages:[53] "The descendant of David will come only in a generation that is entirely virtuous or entirely liable." As will be explained, these two explanations relate to the two extremes within Mashiach.

The Son of Perdition will come after the Great Falling away from the Truth in Christ Jesus God and His Father, Wonderful, Councilor, The Almighty God the everlasting Father. Jesus the Christ the Word which hath created everything which has been created the Word of God is the Creator of his House and the First and the Last. No mere man can ever sit in his Place the Holy of Holies. Iniquity abounds

"The descendant of David" refers to the lowest level within Mashiach, as above. Correspondingly, it relates to a generation on a low level, i.e., one whose Divine service is characterized merely by iskafia, subduing one's natural tendencies. In such a generation, there are sick people, i.e., those who sin and transgress, as stated in Yeshayahu 1:6: "From the sole of the foot until his head, nothing within him is intact; [everywhere, there are] wounds, cuts, and infected bruises." Here sin is described with the analogy of infirmity. Hence, teshuvah which brings healing is required, as stated in Yoma 86b.

The possibility for a person to sin stems from the fact that he forgets at that moment that he is not a separate entity and that it is the word of G-d which maintains him, as explained at length in Tanya, ch. 20ff. This fault can be corrected - healed - by remembering his connection to the Divine life force that maintains him. Herein lies a connection to a fish which is always connected to its source of life.

On this basis, we can understand what is meant by "seeking a fish for a sick person." To explain: We find (Ramban's commentary to Vayikra 11:13) a straightforward rationale for the prohibition against eating non-kosher animals, particularly, beasts of prey: that their meat imparts traces of their cruel nature to the soul of a person who partakes of it.

The same principle also applies in a positive context. Eating meat from animals that have desirable character traits endows a person with these positive traits. On this basis, we can understand why a sick person is advised to eat fish. Fish are always encompassed within their source of life. If they depart from it, they die immediately (Berachos 61b). Since fish are always connected to their source, partaking of their meat will enable a sick person - i.e., as above, one is unaware of his connection to his G-dly life force - to become conscious of that bond.

In that vein, Rashi[54] interprets a fish as "a small entity," one which possesses the quality of humility. Similarly, the Jewish people are referred to as "the smallest among the nations,"[55] and, as above, David is "the smallest."

If "they will search for a fish for a sick person and it will be impossible to find one," that will indicate that this bittul is lacking entirely. The generation is "entirely liable." Hence the son of David will come.

In Deuteronomy 17, this false prophet is also described as someone who would rebel against the authority of the judges of the Jewish people, and who should be put to death for his rebelliousness (v. 8-13, esp. v. 12). Who are the judges? The highest court in Israel was the Sanhedrin, which was established by Moses (Exodus 18:13-26; Numbers 11:16-29), and which lasted more than 15 centuries. The members of the Sanhedrin were the rabbis known as "Pharisees" (Pirushim, "those with the explanation"). G-d gave permanent authority to these judges to interpret the Law and G-d's Word, and it is a commandment to follow their decisions without turning even slightly to the right or the left (Deut. 17:11). But the false prophet would challenge the authority of the Sanhedrin, thus revealing himself to be an evil man.

Elsewhere, this false prophet is described as a king who would disregard the G-d of his fathers, exalting himself as a god and giving honor to this new god-head (Daniel 11:36-39).

THE VILNA GA'ON (ibid.) supports Rashi's interpretation. He explains that when Sanhedrin sat, ten (of the most important members) sat in the middle of the group, and they were surrounded by the other sixty. These are the "sixty mighty men *around* the bed of Shlomo. (The ten in the middle correspond to the seven "Ro'ei Pnei ha'Melech" and three "Shomrei ha'Saf," who are closest to the king, in a king's court -- and in the king of king's court -- see Megilah 23a. The verse in II Melachem 25:19, which associates these authoritative members of the king's court with sixty other men, is discussing the members of the Sanhedrin.

Naturally, Jesus did sometimes pretend to respect the Law, but whenever he thought he could get away with it, he turned right around and broke that same Law. In Matthew 5:17-19, he declared that he came to fulfill the Law, and in Matthew 23:1-3 he defended the authority of the rabbis.

2) He repudiated the laws of honoring one's parents, and called on his followers to hate their parents; he also dishonored his own mother (Matthew 10:34-36; Matthew 12:46-50; Luke 14:26).

3) He violated the Sabbath by picking grain, and incited his disciples to do the same (Matthew 12:1-8; Mark 2:23-26).

4) He again violated the Sabbath by healing a man's arm, which was not a matter of saving a life, and he openly defied the rabbis in his total repudiation of the Sabbath (Matthew 12:9-13; Mark 3:1-5). [Compare this to G-d's view of violating the Sabbath, in Numbers 15:32-36, Nehemiah 10:30-32, and dozens of other places throughout the Bible.]

The Talmud (Babylonian edition) records other sins of "Jesus the Nazarene":

1) He and his disciples practiced sorcery and black magic, led Jews astray into idolatry, and were sponsored by foreign, gentile powers for the purpose of subverting Jewish worship (Sanhedrin 43a).

2) He was sexually immoral, worshipped statues of stone (a brick is mentioned), was cut off from the Jewish people for his wickedness, and refused to repent (Sanhedrin 107b; Sotah 47a).

3) He learned witchcraft in Egypt and, to perform miracles, used procedures that involved cutting his flesh — which is also explicitly banned in the Bible (Shabbos 104b).

The false, rebellious message of Jesus has been thoroughly rejected by the vast majority of the Jewish people, as G-d commanded.

Unfortunately, however, this same message has brought a terrible darkness upon the world; today, over 1.5 billion gentiles believe in Jesus. These lost souls mistakenly think they have found salvation in Jesus; tragically, they are in for a rude awakening. Truth and eternal life are found directly from G-d, through performing His Law. Any "mediator" only separates man from G-d:

Dan:11:14:

All four gospels tell us of the physical suffering of Christ. Matthew notes that the Sanhedrin struck Him with their fists[2], that Pilate had Him flogged[3], that his soldiers place a crown of thorns upon His head[4] and struck Him on the head[5]. Matthew also points out to us that Jesus refuses the anaesthetic of wine mixed with gall which is offered to Him[6], He is certainly not avoiding physical suffering.

Mark notes that Jesus was blindfolded while the Sanhedrin’s beat Him[7] and that this was followed up by a subsequent assault by the temple guards[8]. It is interesting to note that the Markan kai is used here – the temple guards’ beating follows directly on from that of the Sanhedrin. Mark also tells us of the flogging by Pilate’s soldiers[9], the crown of thorns[10] and the same use of etupton for the subsequent strikes to the head[11]. Curiously, but much like The Passion, Mark has less to say about the physical pain on Golgotha itself.

Luke notes for us that, even before the Sanhedrin trial, the guards are beating Jesus[12], even recording for us a perverse game of Blind Man’s Buff where they punch the blindfolded Jesus and then ask him to prophesy who had struck the blow. Luke does not, however, directly record the flogging under Pilate. He does note that Pilate “surrendered Jesus to [the Jews’] will”[13]. It is hard to imagine, given the violence that has been threatened by the crowd throughout the dialogue, that Jesus would have been spared further punishment. Like Mark, Luke has less to say about the crucifixion itself.

John is the gospel on which The Passion is said to be based. He also records for us the Sanhedrin slapping Jesus[14], the Roman flogging, the crown of thorns and blows to the face[15]. He also makes less comment upon the crucifixion itself.

Premise

All denominations of Judaism hold that gentiles (non-Jews) are not obligated to follow halakha (Jewish law and custom); only Jews are obligated do so. Judaism has no tradition of active conversion, and modern-day Judaism discourages proselytization. Rather, for non-Jews, the Noahide Laws are considered the way to have a meaningful relationship with God.

Theft, robbery, and stealing covers the appropriate understanding of other persons, their property, and their rights. The establishment of courts of justice promotes the value of the responsibility of a corporate society of people to enforce these laws, and define these terms. The refusal to engage in unnecessary lust or cruelty demonstrates respect for the Creation itself, as renewed after the Flood. To not do murder would include human sacrifice as being forbidden.

Recent developments

The Chabad Lubavitch movement has been especially active in promoting Noahism among non-Jews and several Christian congregations have abandoned traditional Christianity (rejecting the Nicene Creed) and adopted Noahidism in recent years. The Chicago Tribune, on Saturday, June 19, 1920, printed in the first column of the first page a cable dispatch from John Clayton, its special correspondent, under the heading: “Trotsky Leads Jew-Radicals to World Rule. Bolshevism Only a Tool for His Scheme.”

The Jewish Sanhedrin was a most interesting institution. Its origin and method of constitution are obscure. It consisted of 71 members, with the president, and performed the functions of a political senate. There is nothing to show whence the Sanhedrin derived its authority. It was not an elective body. It was not democratic. It was not representative. It was not responsible to the people. In these qualities, it was typically Jewish. The Sanhedrin was chosen by the prince or priest, not with the purpose of safeguarding the people’s interest, but to assist the ruler in the work of administration. It was thus assembled by call, or it was self-perpetuating, calling its own members. The arrangement seems to have been that well-known device by which an aristocracy can maintain itself in power whatever the political construction of the nation may be. The Jewish Encyclopedia says: “The Sanhedrin, which was entirely aristocratic in character, probably assumed its own authority, since it was composed of members of the most influential families of the nobility and priesthood.”

This body was flanked by a similar body, which governed the religious interests of the nation, the members being drawn apparently from classes nearer the common people.

The Sanhedrin exercised authority not only over the Jews of Palestine, but wherever they were scattered throughout the world. As a senate exercising direct political authority, it ceased with the downfall of the Jewish State in the year 70, but there are indications of its continuance as an advisory body down to the fourth century.

It would be entirely natural, Jewish solidarity being what it is, that the Sanhedrin should still be continued. The ancient Sanhedrin appears to have had a group of ten who were somewhat exalted in importance above the rest; it would be perfectly natural if the leaders of the Jews were today divided into committees, by countries or by objects.

Rv:17:12: And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast.

THE VILNA GA'ON (ibid.) supports Rashi's interpretation. He explains that when Sanhedrin sat, ten (of the most important members) sat in the middle of the group, and they were surrounded by the other sixty. These are the "sixty mighty men *around* the bed of Shlomo. (The ten in the middle correspond to the seven "Ro'ei Pnei ha'Melech" and three "Shomrei ha'Saf," who are closest to the king, in a king's court -- and in the king of king's court -- see Megilah 23a. The verse in II Melachem 25:19, which associates these authoritative members of the king's court with sixty other men, is discussing the members of the Sanhedrin.

There are always being held, year by year, world meetings of the principal Jews of all lands. They come together whenever called, to the disregard of everything else. Great judges from the high courts of the various countries, international financiers, Jewish orators of the “liberal type” who have the ear of the Gentiles, political maneuverers from all the parties represented in the world, they assemble wherever they will, and the subjects of their deliberations are made known only to the extent they will. It is not to be supposed that all of the attendants on these conventions are members of the inner circle. The list of delegates will show scores of persons with whom no one would associate Lord Reading and Judge Brandeis. If the modern Sanhedrin meets, and it would be the most natural thing in the world if it should, we may be sure it meets within the closed circle of those persons which the Jewish aristocracy of money, intellect and power approves.

The machinery of a Jewish world government exists ready-made. The Jew is convinced that he has the best religion, the best morality, the best method of education, the best social standards, the best ideal of government. He would not have to go outside the circle of that which he considers best to get anything which he may need to advance the welfare of his people, or to execute any program which may have to do with the outside world.

The invisible government of the Jews, its attitude toward the Gentile world, its policy with regard to the future, are not, then, the abnormal things that some would make them appear. Given the Jewish position, they are of all things most natural. Jewish existence in this world is not such as woos the Jew into sleepy contentment; it is such as stirs him into organization against future contingencies and into programs which may shape those contingencies to the benefit of his race. That there should be a Sanhedrin of the Jews, a world body of the leading men of all countries; that there should even be an exilarch, a visible and recognized head of the Sanhedrin, mystically foreshadowing the autocrat to come; that there should even be a world program, just as every government has its foreign policy, are not strange, uncanny suppositions. They grow normally out of the situation itself.

And it is also natural that not every Jew should know this. The Sanhedrin always was the aristocracy, and would be today. When rabbis cry from their pulpits that they know nothing about this thing, they are doubtless telling the truth. What the international Jew depends upon is the likelihood of every Jew approving that which brings power and prestige to his people. At any rate, it is well enough known that however little the ordinary Jewish leader may have been told about world programs, he regards with the greatest respect and confidence the very men who must put these programs through, if these exist at all.

The twenty-fourth Protocol of the Learned Elders of Zion has this to say:

“Now I will discuss the manner in which the roots of the house of King David will penetrate to the deepest strata of the earth. This dynasty, even to this day, has given the power of controlling world affairs to our wise men, the educational directors of all human thought.”

This would indicate, if reliable, that, as the Protocol goes on to recite, the Autocrat himself has not appeared, but the dynasty, or the Davidic line in which he must appear, have entrusted the work of preparing for him to the Wise Men of Zion. These wise men are represented not only as preparing those who exercise rulership over Judaism’s affairs, but also as framing and influencing the world’s thought toward ends which shall be propitious to these plans. Whatever may be hidden in the program, it is certain that its execution or the effects of its execution cannot be hidden. Therefore, it may be possible to find in the outer world the clues which, traced back to their source, reveal the existence of a program, whose promise for the world, good or bad, ought to be widely known.

Finally, we can explain why a Ben Noach is punished with death for violating any of their commandments, whereas a Jew who performs a similar infraction does not always receive such a harsh punishment. Since the Ben Noach is given these commandments to uphold the world, by not following them he has contributed to the breakdown of society and the world at large. As such, he has already removed himself from the world, and his responsible position in it, and the resultant death penalty is merely a natural outgrowth and expression of his actions.

When we were about to leave the place, I noticed a sign on the wall on the way out which was an invitation to the "church meetings" being held there 3 times a week, once on Saturdays, by the largest CANADIAN contingent of said church. Let me explain something about "MAN" first that answers this conundrum thoroughly. Fallen and 'lost' man, who has rejected God of the bible and what he says, has become A GOD UNTO HIMSELF. 

He rejects the truth of scripture than "improvises' his own truth based upon his own "experience". God says the creation is "FALLEN" and under death and the denier says....I DENY THAT. 

If he denyies that truth then his reality is that the universe is NOT fallen and under death but is "GOOD" and PERFECT. 

God says man is FALLEN and evil in his condition, the denier DENIES that and takes an exact opposite stance, that, man is GOOD and not fallen but is "RAISING UP GOOD" and the more he advances the 'gooder' he is becoming, and this affinity is directly tied to with "THE CREATION" and especially this earth. 

You see, the fallen do not understand that the "schism" and division is......."IN THEMSELVES"!!!.

 They cannot see or do good nor evil because BOTH DWELL WITHIN HIM, thus, he sees....GREY.....without differentiation between good nor evil. 

Naturally, because man was created a MORAL creature, fallen man can TRY to deduce a differentiation between good and evil based upon his own "moral instincts" in his fallen state. The reality is, fallen man "CANNOT" discern between good nor evil on his own because the dual embodiment makes him BLIND and he only sees "GREY". 

Unless an outside 'authority' other than his own ego is allowed to "come in" and.......DIVIDE......that coexistence of good and evil WITHIN, that fallen person stays in a state of delusion and deception UNTO HIMSELF.

 Unless that person allows THE SWORD/WATER/FIRE/WORD come 'in' and DIVIDE, they remain a LAW UNTO THEMSELVES and remain their own "God". 

At its base, the fallen man or woman in reality CALLS EVIL GOOD AND GOOD EVIL for he or she cannot discern between the two. 

In the garden, the fall was caused by the ingestion of.....THE KNOWLEDGE.....of good and evil. This ingestion caused "DEATH" in the entire creation. 

Why the entire creation? Because the creation was created for MAN and man was created for GOD. In fact, man was created directly from the creation, from the dust of the ground, thus, his connection to the creation is is inseparable. 

What man does has a direct impact on the creation. Now, mans FLESH AND BLOOD is directly tied to this creation, but not his soul or spirit, that's directly of God. 

So then, a fallen man or women who has not received salvation for whatever reason, has a NATURAL inclination towards that which is FALLEN, his flesh and blood, this creation, and will SERVE those.

 The Christian who has had the sword DIVIDE that duality within, lives TRAPPED in a FALLEN BODY in a FALLEN CREATION and understands that there is "another law" at work in his members that HE HAS NO CONTROL OVER, that has a will of its own.

 Thus the Christian begins a WAR, A BATTLE that takes place within and without and at all times. Eventually the Christian learns "AFTER TRANSLATION" that that WAR is being fought and he himself is not a participant but merely "AN OBSERVER". He learns not to be a participant because he learns the difference between THE LAW OF THE SPIRIT and the LAW OF THE FLESH, and as he 'changes sides' unto the spirit he is able to discern that "other law" and its works of the flesh and is able to RESIST. Now, why does fallen man reject Gods judgment?

Pr 28:5 Evil men understand not judgment: but they that seek the LORD understand all things.

BECAUSE THEY ARE EVIL!. They do not understand BECAUSE they are evil. 

They rejected this truth thus all other truths get rejected. THE FALL is the ultimate rejection by men that sends them to hell. By denying a literal fall in which they themselves are apart of, they in fact DENY GOD!. 

Fallen mans disdain against God dealing with his creation in JUDGMENT is based upon the denial of "THEIR OWN PURPOSE OF CREATION". 

To them, flesh and blood and this creation "IS IT", that's all there is and nothing else.

Thus, their flesh and blood and this creation IS THEIR HEAVEN, so the thought of a supposed "God of love" destroying his creation in a flood or in an apocalypse "CANNOT BE UNDERSTOOD" by them. Why? To them "ITS THE END". God says not so, that life TRANSCENDS this creation and their flesh and blood and that HE, GOD, is the absolute master and authority that decides who what and when gets life and it "more abundantly". 

Being in a fallen state "AS A GOD UNTO THEMSELVES, their not likely to accept the true God who hides himself from evil man because of his FALL, but will only accept a God that conforms with his universal and "immoral" view, being in a fallen state in the first place!. 

Thus fallen man picks up the bible, read its, and SEES NO DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SATAN AND GOD, GOOD NOR EVIL, just like they do in everything else in this world when trying to determine virtues. Ultimately he REJECTS the Christian God and says "HES THE DEVIL" (Isa.ch.28...we have made a covenant with DEATH and with HELL.....
