The Israel Defense Forces is working on a system of automatic sensors that would
shoot anything entering a 60-kilometer stretch of border between Israel and
Gaza.
The "See-Shoot" system is made
up of a series of remote-controlled weaponry, ground senors and manned and
remote-control aircraft. When the sensors detect something, an operator in a
remote location can authorize its
destruction, according to defensenews.com.
The system, built by Rafael, would allow Israel to protect its border without
deploying infantry. It was first introduced in 2005, before Israel withdrew from
Gaza.

should consider a military strike against Iran.
"I think we've got to be prepared to take aggressive
military action against the Iranians to stop them from killing Americans
in Iraq," Lieberman (I-Conn.) said Sunday on the CBS news show "Face

an Iranian admiral told US Defense News on Monday.

"The resistance will stun the US defense establishment, with dozens and even hundreds of missiles which will strike specific targets," said Admiral Ali Samhuni, security advisor to Ayatollah Ali Khameini. Countries that house US bases that could be potential targets, include Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar, and Bahrain.
Army Radio quoted Iran's deputy interior minister in charge of security issues said "all the American bases in the region are within the reach of our weapons."
"If the United States attacked Iran, US interests would be in danger everywhere in the world," added Muhammad Baqer Zolghadr, also a former deputy chief of Iran's elite Revolutionary Guards.

The IAF and US on Sunday began week-long joint exercises in southern Israel.
Earlier Monday, a meeting between a senior Iranian envoy and the head of the International Atomic Energy Agency was abruptly canceled Monday and diplomats blamed Iran's refusal to make good on a promise to provide answers about past atomic activities.
The meeting, between Javeed Vaidi of Iran and IAEA director general Mohamed ElBaradei, had been billed as a test of Teheran's readiness to end years of stonewalling and provide answers on aspects of its nuclear program that could be used to develop weapons.
But the talks were canceled on short notice because of perceptions that Vaidi would bring "nothing substantial" to another meeting with deputy IAEA director general Olli Heinonen, a diplomat told The Associated Press.
Along with Teheran's refusal to freeze uranium enrichment and restrictions on IAEA inspectors, Iranian stonewalling was also the focus of ElBaradei, in opening comments to a meeting of the agency's 35-nation board of governors.
The agency is unable "to make any progress in its efforts to resolve outstanding issues relevant to the nature and scope of Iran's nuclear program," ElBaradei told delegates, describing the development as a "key proliferation concern."
"Against the background of many years of undeclared activities, and taking into account the sensitivity of nuclear enrichment technology, it is incumbent on Iran to work urgently with the agency ... in order for the agency to be able to provide assurance regarding the exclusively peaceful nature of all of Iran's nuclear activities," ElBaradei said.

Vaidi did talk with EU negotiator Robert Cooper to discuss a recent Iranian pledge to clear up past nuclear questions in talks at Austria's foreign ministry. Still, the cancellation of subsequent meetings - first with ElBaradei and then with Olli Heinonen, a key ElBaradei aide - dashed hopes that the Iran was prepared for a breakthrough compromise on one of the issues that led to its referral last year to the UN Security Council
It was also likely to give support to Iran critics at the board meeting, with the United States and its allies using that gathering as a platform to pressure Teheran on enrichment and other issues.
Gregory L. Schulte, the chief US delegate to the gathering, set the tone for countries pushing Iran.
"Iran's leaders (are) continuing to develop capabilities to enrich uranium and produce plutonium" in violation of the Security Council, Schulte told reporters.

He took Teheran to task for "continuing to withdraw cooperation from the IAEA, causing a troubling deterioration of the agency's knowledge of Iran's nuclear capabilities."
The Vaidi-Cooper talks are a spinoff of May 31 discussions in Madrid between EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana and Ali Larijani, Iran's top nuclear negotiator.
That meeting ended with Iran offering to divulge information long sought by IAEA experts trying to establish whether Teheran's past nuclear activists were secretly aimed at trying to make weapons.
The offer fell short of the main purpose of the Solana-Larijani talks - finding a way to bridge an impasse over Iran's rejection of UN Security Council demands that it suspend uranium enrichment.
Still, any decision by Iran to fully cooperate on clearing up past activities would have represented a major concession - a hope diminished with news that the Vaidi-ElBaradei meeting had been canceled.

The defense minister of this major US ally said Monday that Kuwait will not allow the American military to stage an attack on Iran from its territory. Asked if Washington had made such a request, Sheik Jaber Al Mubarak Al Sabah told reporters: "It hasn't asked, and even
if it did we will not allow anybody to use our territories."
Like other Arab states in the Persian Gulf region, Kuwait calls for a peaceful solution to the nuclear standoff between Iran and the West. Kuwait, which is located across the Gulf from Iran, fears Iranian reprisal if Washington decides to use force to destroy the Islamic republic's nuclear facilities, which it suspects are aimed at making nuclear weapons. US weekly Defense News quotes a number of senior Iranian officials threatening to fire ballistic missiles in masses against targets in Arab Gulf states and Israel if US forces strike Tehran's nuclear facilities
If US forces strike Iranian nuclear facilities,
Tehran will respond by triggering an all-out regional war,
Iranian officials said last week in an interview with the Defense
News weekly.
“Ballistic missiles would be fired in masses against
targets in Persian Gulf states and Israel,”
one Foreign Ministry official said. “The objective would be to overwhelm US
missile defense systems with dozens and maybe hundreds of missiles fired
simultaneously at specific targets.”
The newspaper quotes a number of Iranian officials whose comments reflect
Tehran's official line but who could not obtain permission to speak on the
record at short notice. According to the officials, Tehran’s primary targets would be US military
installations and strategic targets in US-allied Arabian Gulf states, including
oil depots, refineries, power plants and desalination facilities.

One Iranian official with knowledge of the leadership’s national-security discussions said his country’s leaders anticipate that US forces will strike with no warning against the military’s command-and-control network, and have ordered ballistic- and cruise-missile battery crews to launch the retaliation plan within an hour after a US attack begins.“The US will be as surprised with Iranian military capabilities as the Israelis were with Hizbullah in last summer’s war in Lebanon,” he said. “Most of our people are confident we would give the Americans hell and likely emerge victorious.”
Admiral Ali Shamkhani, a former Iranian defense minister, told Defense News that special targets would include Arabian Gulf states that help Washington to justify a strike. Shamkhani runs the Center of Strategic Studies, a think tank comprised of former senior foreign, defense and interior ministers who advise Ayatollah Ali Khameni, the country’s supreme leader.
“Allegations by some Arab gulf states that the Iranian nuclear program poses an environmental threat to the area and that it would spark a nuclear arms race are aimed at helping the US establish legitimacy for its anticipated aggression against Iran,” Shamkhani said.
US military action threatens Iran’s existence, he said, “but most of those who speak about the war option are well aware that Iran has the capability to face this choice.”
According to the report, in case of an American attack Tehran will also allow al-Qaeda and other Islamic terrorist groups free passage across its borders from Afghanistan and Asia into the Middle East.
“Iran will open a freeway for terrorists from Afghanistan all the way to Lebanon, enabling the terrorists to strike in almost every country in the Middle East,” said the official with knowledge of national-security discussions.

The Israeli prison authorities, on Monday, refused an appeal made by Mandila Association for prisoners' affairs to release a Palestinian prisoner and her infant from an Israeli detention camp.

In a press release issued by the association, Mandila stated
that the association filed an appeal for the release of Samar Sobeh and her
infant from the Hasharon Israeli detention camp. Sobeh has server one third of
her sentence.
Sobeh was kidnapped from her home in the West Bank
during a military operation in September 2005. At the time of her kidnapping, she
was two months pregnant and delivered her baby in an Israeli prison hospital in
April 2006.
An Israeli court sentenced the woman to 28 months in prison and issued her with
a 2000 NIS fine.
Her husband was also kidnapped by the army in September 2005. After serving
several administrative detentions, he was deported to the Gaza Strip in July
2006 and is barred from re-entering the West Bank.
There are currently more than 12,000 Palestinian prisoners being held in
detention camps across Israeli. The majority of these prisoners are held under
administrative detention, a policy outlawed by the Geneva
Convention and illegal under international law.
