The 1991 Persian Gulf War and subsequent U.N. inspections destroyed Iraq's illicit weapons capability and, for the most part, Saddam Hussein did not try to rebuild it, according to an extensive report by the chief U.S. weapons inspector in Iraq that contradicts nearly every prewar assertion made by top administration officials about Iraq.

The plan for the Iraq war, which has erupted in the face of opposition from the entire world, was drawn up at least decades ago, by Israeli strategists
 
In its attempt to realize its strategy of destabilizing or dividing the Middle Eastern Arab states, Israel has Egypt, Syria, Iran and Saudi Arabia on its list of subsequent targets.
 
As these lines are being written, the United States of America has begun striking at Iraq. Despite the fact that most countries of the world, and even the majority of the USA's allies, opposed it, the US administration was determined for the strike to go ahead. When we look behind the scenes of this insistence, it seems that Israel and its powerful lobby in the US, have the greatest share in the make-up.
 
In fact, Israel's policy aimed at the fragmentation of Iraq has lengthy historical roots>£
 
The Age-Old Israeli Plan to Divide Iraq
 
An ambitious report entitled "A Strategy for Israel in the 1980s," which appeared in the World Zionist Organization's periodical Kivunim in February 1982 disclosed a strategy aimed at making the whole of the Middle East a kind of "living space" for Israel. The report, drawn up by Oded Yinon, an Israeli journalist and formerly attached to the Foreign Ministry of Israel, set out the scenario of the "division of Iraq" in these terms:
 
Iraq, rich in oil on the one hand and internally torn on the other, is guaranteed as a candidate for Israel's targets. Its dissolution is even more important for us than that of Syria>£ Iraq is, once again, no different in essence from its neighbors, although its majority is Shi'ite and the ruling minority Sunni. Sixty-five percent of the population has no say in politics, in which an elite of 20 percent holds the power. In addition there is a large Kurdish minority in the north, and if it weren't for the strength of the ruling regime, the army and the oil revenues, Iraq's future state would be no different than that of Lebanon in the past>£ In Iraq, a division into provinces along ethnic/religious lines as in Syria during Ottoman times is possible. So, three (or more) states will exist around the three major cities: Basra, Baghdad and Mosul, and Shi'ite areas in the south will separate from the Sunni and Kurdish north. 1)
 
This was not the only announcement of the Israeli plan to atomize Middle East, including Iraq. As Israel Shahak, the notable Israeli scholar known for his dedication to a peaceful solution in the Middle East, explained that Yinon was just echoing the views of Israeli hawks:
 
The idea that all the Arab states should be broken down, by Israel, into small units, occurs again and again in Israeli strategic thinking. For example, Ze'ev Schiff, the military correspondent of Ha'aretz (and probably the most knowledgeable in Israel, on this topic) writes about the "best" that can happen for Israeli interests in Iraq: "The dissolution of Iraq into a Shi'ite state, a Sunni state and the separation of the Kurdish part" (Ha'aretz 6/2/1982). Actually, this aspect of the plan is very old. 2)
 
Thus, the plan was a serious one and this has been confirmed by the age-old Israeli support to non-Arab or non-Muslim minorities in the Muslim Arab states. The rebellious Kurds of northern Iraq was one of these strategic allies of Israel. During their revolt against the Baghdad regime, 1961-75, they have been financially and militarily supported by Israel. Israelis would love to see them carve up the northern part of Iraq, no matter how bloody and devastating such a civil war would be. However, the revolt failed in 1975, after loosing the support of its major patron, the Shah.
 
Fifteen years later, a new opportunity arose for Israel, an opportunity from the ambitions of the Iraqi dictator, Saddam Hussein.
 
Israel's Role in the Gulf War
 
Iraqi dictator Saddam Hussein, after his bloody war against Iran in the 80's, invaded Kuwait in a sudden attack on August 1, 1990, giving rise to an international crisis. Israel headed the list of those forces that encouraged that crisis. Israel was the fiercest supporter of the attitude adopted by the United States in the wake of the invasion of Kuwait. The Israelis even regarded the United States as moderate, and wanted a harsher policy. To such an extent in fact that the President of Israel Chaim Herzog recommended that the American use nuclear weapons. On the other hand, the Israeli lobby in the United States was working to bring about a wide-ranging attack on Iraq.
 
This whole situation encouraged the idea in the United States that the attack against Iraq under consideration was actually planned in Israel's interests. Pat Buchanan summarized this idea in the words "There are only two groups that are beating the drums for war in the Middle East - the Israeli Defense Ministry and its amen corner in the United States."
 
Israelis had also initiated a serious propaganda campaign on the issue. Since this campaign was largely waged in secret, Mossad also entered the equation. Rogue Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky provides important information on this subject. According to Ostrovsky, Israel had wanted to wage war with the United States against Saddam long before the Gulf crisis. So much so in fact, that Israel began to implement the plan immediately after the Iran-Iraq war. Ostrovsky reports that Mossad's Psychological Warfare department (LAP - LohAma Psychologist) set about an effective pro-war campaign 
using misinformation techniques. 3)
 
A Mossad Agent Describes the Gulf War
 
Ostrovsky describes how Mossad used agents or sympathizers in various parts of the world in this campaign. Among the tools employed in the campaign were the horrible massacres done by missiles launched against civilian targets in Iran during the Iran-Iraq war. As Ostrovsky makes clear, Mossad's later use of these missiles as a propaganda tool was quite peculiar, since those missiles had actually been directed towards their targets by Mossad, with the help of information from US satellites. Having supported Saddam throughout his war with Iran, Israel was now disclosing his crimes. Ostrovsky writes:
The Mossad leaders know that if they could make Saddam appear bad enough and a threat to the Gulf oil supply, of which he'd been the protector up to that point, then the 
 
United States and its allies would not let him get away with anything, but would take measures that would all but eliminate his army and his weapons potential, especially if they were led to believe that this might just be their last chance before he went nuclear. 4)
 
The Israelis were so determined on this matter, and with regard to the United States, that on August 4, 1990, Israeli Foreign Minister David Levy issued a diplomatically worded threat to William Brown, the American ambassador to Israel, stating that Israel "expects the U.S. will fulfill all of the goals it set for itself at the beginning of the gulf crisis," in other words that it attack Iraq. According to Levy, if the United States failed to do so, Israel would act unilaterally. 5)
 
It would be of enormous benefit to Israel to have the United States engage in the war and for Israel to remain entirely uninvolved: and that is indeed what happened.
 
Israel Forces the USA to War
 
However, the Israelis were actively involved in the United States' war plans. Some US staff officers involved in planning Operation Desert Storm received fine tactical advice from the Israelis that "the best way of wounding Saddam was to strike at his family."

The Mossad-inspired propaganda campaign reported by Ostrovsky set up the necessary public backing for the Gulf War. It was again Mossad local assistants who lit the touchpaper for the war. The Hill and Knowlton lobbying firm, run by Tom Lantos of the Israeli lobby, prepared a dramatic scenario to convince members of Congress on the subject of war against Saddam. Turan Yavuz, a noted Turkish journalist, describes the incident:
 
October 9, 1990. The Hill and Knowlton lobbying firm organizes a sitting in Congress on the subject of "Iraq's Barbarities." A number of "eye witnesses" brought to the session by the lobbying firm maintain that Iraqi troops killed new-born babies in the hospital wards. One "eye witness" describes the savagery in enormous detail, saying that Iraqi soldiers killed 300 new-born babies in one hospital alone. This information deeply disturbs the members of Congress. This works to President Bush's advantage. However, it later emerges that the eye witness brought by Hill and Knowlton to Congress is in fact the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to Washington. Nevertheless, the daughter's account is sufficient for members of Congress to give Saddam the nickname "Hitler". 6)
 
This leads to just one conclusion: that Israel played an important role in the United States' to wage its first war on Iraq. The second one is not much different.
 
The Pretext of "War Against Terrorism"
 
Contrary to popular belief, the plan to attack Iraq and overthrow Saddam Hussein's regime by force was prepared and placed on Washington's agenda long before the genesis of the "war against terrorism," which emerged in the wake of September 11. The first indication of this plan emerged in 1997. A group of pro-Israeli hawkish strategists in Washington D.C. began to put forward the scenario of the invasion of Iraq by manipulating the "neo-con" think-tank, called PNAC (Project for The New American Century). The most notable names in the PNAC were those of Donald Rumsfeld and Dick Cheney, who as defense secretary and vice-president would be the most influential figures in the George W. Bush administration.
 
An article titled "Invading Iraq Not a New Idea for Bush Clique: 4 Years Before 9/11 Plan Was Set" written by William Brunch and published in the Philadelphia Daily News, sets out the following facts:
But in reality, Rumsfeld, Vice President Dick Cheney, and a small band of conservative ideologues had begun making the case for an American invasion of Iraq as early as 1997 - nearly four years before the Sept. 11 attacks and three years before President Bush took office.

While oil is a backdrop to PNAC's policy pronouncements on Iraq, it doesn't seem to be the driving force. [Ian] Lustick, [a University of Pennsylvania political science professor and Middle East expert,] while a critic of the Bush policy, says oil is viewed by the war's proponents primarily as a way to pay for the costly military operation.
 
"I'm from Texas, and every oil man that I know is against military action in Iraq," said PNAC's Schmitt. "The oil market doesn't need disruption."
 
Lustick believes that a more powerful hidden motivator may be Israel. He said Bush administration hawks believe that a show of force in Iraq would somehow convince Palestinians to accept a peace plan on terms favorable to Israel>£ 8)

No matter how much they speak of "American interests," these people are actually supporting Israeli interests. A strategy of waging war against the whole of the Middle East and turning all the peoples of the region against it cannot be to the United States' advantage. The adoption of such a strategy can only be possible if the United States is bound to Israel, by means of the Israeli lobby, which is profoundly influential in this country's foreign policy.

What needs to be done in the face of this?
 
1) "Counter lobby activities" need to be adopted in the face of the Israeli lobby's influence in the United States in order to develop dialogue between the United States and the Islamic world and to invite it to seek peaceful solutions to Iraq and similar problems. A wide section of the United States wishes to see their country adopt a fairer Middle East policy. Many statesmen, strategists, journalists and intellectuals have expressed this, and a "peace of civilizations" movement must be carried forward in cooperation with them. The approach inviting the US administration to peaceful solutions must be carried forward at governmental and civil society organization level.

2) A reconciliation between Israel and the Muslim Middle East must be sought. There are many "peaceniks", i.e. pro-peace Israelis, too. Many Israeli statesmen, religious leader, opinion leaders and many Jews from all around the world are urging the Israeli state to refrain from its brutal occupation and accept a just peace to live along with their Arab neighbors.

Cooperation with them, especially on the inter-faith level, should be initiated and encouraged. One thing should never be forgotten: The rise of radicalism, enmity and violence is bad for all parties.
 
3) Alongside all this, a deeper rooted solution lies in a project which can resolve all the problems between the Islamic world and the West and deal with the fragmentation, suffering and poverty in the Islamic world and totally alter it: An Islamic Union. Recent developments have shown that the whole world, not just Islamic regions, stands in need of an "Islamic Union." This Union should heal the radical elements in the Islamic World, and establish good relations between Muslim countries and the West, especially the United States.
 
This Union, can find a solution to the mother of all problems: The Arab-Israeli conflict. With Israel retreating to its pre-67 borders and Arabs recognizing its right to exist, there can be real peace in the Middle East. And Jews and Muslims - both Children of Abraham and believers in one true God - may peacefully co-exist in the Holy Land, as they have done during the past centuries.

Then, Israel would need no strategy to destabilize or divide the Arab States. And it will not have to face the results of occupation in forms of terrorism and constant fear of annihilation. Then, both the Israeli and Iraqi (and Palestinian) children may grow up in peace and security. That is a Middle East that any sane person should work to see.

Candidates' 'Blind Spot'

John Edwards, in his - "debate" with Richard Cheney, made many good points, Unfortunately, he like Kerry last week, has a moral blind spot when it comes to Israel and the killing and maiming of hundreds of Palestinians every week. This killing has been going on for months, but none of our vaunted politicians or media have screamed with outrage about this ongoing massacre of Palestinians in their own land.
 
Let's get some points straight for the sake of history.
 
The series of suicide bombers from Palestine did not begin until Israel invaded Palestinian lands, killing and maiming people and destroying water, electrical and hospital works. All of this is illegal under international law.
 
Yes, some Palestinians did commit moral crimes by attacking civilians. This was bad, but they used the only major weapon they had, their bodies as human bombs. Remember, Israel has, as gifts from America, F15s, F16s, Abrams Tanks, Apache and Blackhawk Helicopters which they use, on a daily basis, to kill and maim Palestinians.
 
How is it that an Israeli death is worse than the death of 30 or more Palestinians? That's what's going on. How can this be alled - "defending Israel" when Israel is the one doing the major killings and maimings?
 
Obviously, Kerry, Edwards, Bush and Cheney prefer not to see the illegal, immoral and brutal acts of Sharon's Israel - they keep glossing over these actions with, - "Israel has a right to defend itself." Kerry's crocodile tears about the Israeli kids was too one-sided; how about the hundreds of Palestinian kids and mothers who have been butchered by Sharon and his storm troopers? We all agree, Israel may have a right to defend itself, but it does not have a right to invade and brutalize the Palestinians. It has gotten so bad, that even Kofi Annan has called for a halt to the Israeli brutality and invasion of Palestine - but America keeps getting in the way and supports all the illegal and immoral acts of Israel - the US gives Sharon carte blanche.
 
Interestingly, America has adopted the Israeli method of brutality in Iraq. How come we changed, or did we? I remember the carpet bombing of Viet Nam. I remember Agent Orange and the deaths it caused. I know that the depleted uranium shells we are using in Iraq have a half life of 4.5 billion years - yes, billion, not million. So, many Iraqis will die from cancer because of the DU; many American troops will die of the same DU; many children will be born deformed, to Iraqis and to Americans from the DU - yet, thought there are no Iraqi tanks or planes, we keep using DU shells and bullets - ignoring all the science that says there are hundreds of times more DU in the ground of Iraq and that we should stop poisoning the country and the people in this way.
 
Finally, it is apparent to all except the most ignorant that Bush, Cheney, and if they get into office, Kerry and Edwards, if they follow their plans for more troops in Iraq and continued support for Israel, will all be guilty of war crimes. But, of course, being the biggest bully in the world right now, allows America to get away with these evil acts. Some day, and it won't be too long, China will be the biggest kid on the block, then we'll see what the neo-cons and their children will do when we get ur face slapped and we are threatened with annihilation or the destruction of most of our country and its infrastructure and population.
 
Europe and Asia are now having more joint continental talks, moving toward closer alliances, with America being left out. Even South Korea has become wary of American interference in its attempt to re-unite with North Korea, not to mention the Muslim nations that are now putting distance between themselves and the United States. These nations know that America has gone berserk and is already the biggest terrorist in the world. Their unification of plans, and possible military and economic might will isolate America in time, and perhaps its cousin in crime, England. This is something that most Americans are not aware of at this time, but these meetings have been taking place at an increasing rate since America went into Iraq and has increased its brutality and violation of international laws in the Middle East and elsewhere.

Why the American people and the American media and politicians can't see the human suffering being inflicted on Iraqis is a puzzle to me. Our people seem to have gone into a constant state of denial when it comes to Iraq and Palestine; not just the media and politicians, but also ordinary people who treat the Arabs and Muslims in these two countries as less than human and less human then Israelis. It is ironic that Israelis and Palestinians are cousins, both being children of Abraham (a proven DNA and genetic fact).
 
I lay part of the blame for this denial on the U.S. media; it has consistently portrayed Israel as the good guy, moral, democratic and just, and the Palestinians are - "terrorists," - "suicide bombers," and - "uncivilized." These stereotypes are wrong, but they are repeated so often, that after a while, as Goebbels said, the lie is repeated so often that after a while it gains the credibility of truth. Certainly, our media has to be cleaned up, but as long as it's owned by the major corporations that own our media outlets, the lies will continue and anyone who opposes our big business brothers, part of the military/industrial complex, will be seen as the enemy and demonized on our media.
 
What may be a good sign is that more and more people are turning off their television sets and looking for alternative news sources on the internet, or turning on foreign stations on short-wave or getting those stations on the internet as well. This may help, but there is also growing fear that the government will try to control the internet through work with Microsoft and others. Let us hope that won't happen. But don't bet on it.
 
It is time that America recovered from this blind spot toward the brutality and immoral and illegal behavior of Israel. If not, this will ultimately destroy us, for it unfortunately leaves us with - "leaders" who are ignorant, immoral and looking for money and votes, not working for justice, peace or for the long term good of our country. Eventually, our bad deeds in the world, and our support for such evil men as Sharon of Israel will backfire. As Chalmers Johnson points out in his book, BLOWBACK, the blowback is certain to come and it won't be good for America or its people. I hope our media and our - "leaders" wake up in time to help save our country and the good people who inhabit it.

 

Beheadings Now Routine For
Iraqi Pathologist

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - The beheading of hostage Ken Bigley horrified the world. It sickened Iraq's top pathologist too, but he is getting used to seeing severed heads.
 
"It was barbaric, but we see all kinds of things here in forensic pathology and beheadings are on the rise. It is the biggest trend by far. Iraq is totally out of control," Faik Bakr told Reuters at his morgue in Baghdad.
 
Bigley, a 62-year-old engineer, was beheaded with a knife on Thursday after his televised pleas for help riveted attention on foreign hostages in Iraq, where several have been decapitated.
 
Masked Islamic militants and guerrillas seeking to drive U.S. and other foreign troops out of Iraq may see themselves as warriors in a just cause. But after seeing more and more severed heads arrive at his morgue, Bakr has drawn other conclusions.
 
"They think they are heroes. But the only thing I can say is that they are abnormal, they are inhumane," said Bakr.
 
The militants usually make their blindfolded victims kneel before them as a statement is read justifying what is to come. The hostage is pushed to the floor for the final indignity.
 
"If the victim does not resist at all it would take about two or three minutes for them to cut the head off," said Bakr.
 
FROM HEART ATTACKS TO SEVERED HEADS
 
Many of the victims of Saddam Hussein were never brought to hospital.
 
In those long years of oppression, executions, wars and sanctions, the deaths Bakr dealt with were usually the more mundane results of heart attacks, disease and only the occasional shooting.
 
"I began my work 25 years ago. I saw maybe three beheadings (in the past). It is a rare way of killing in Iraq," said Bakr. "But now we get up to six beheading cases a month in our morgue alone."
 
Bakr, 54, has not dealt with the high-profile beheadings of foreigners that have grabbed the headlines.
 
He quietly goes to work at a medical complex where he examines the bodies of the many Iraqis who have been murdered after being kidnapped by criminals on the street.
 
More than 300 shooting victims are delivered to his morgue every month, compared to about 16 under Saddam's iron grip.
 
"We don't get to understand what happened or to investigate. We just see the bodies and the heads and we tag them if we can identify them," said Bakr.
 
Some bereaved families are left with no clue as the motive for a killing. A pharmacist was recently beheaded after being kidnapped on his way to work along with a colleague who was shot dead. No ransom was demanded and no political cause apparent.
 
But when Bakr teaches medical students forensic pathology these days, there are usually few doubts about the immediate physical cause of death.
 
Victims have often been beheaded, shot dead or blown apart in a country plagued by suicide bombings, kidnappings and crime.
 
"The lesson is very simple. Death is definitely increasing every day in Iraq," said Bakr.

What does it mean when America's biggest retailer promotes one of Hitler's favorite books?
 
If hate literature had a magnum opus, it would probably be The Protocols of the Meetings of the Learned Elders of Zion. Concocted in 1890s Russia by the Czar's personal police, the Okhrana, The Protocols is a fake account of Jews meeting to plan for world domination. If the plot sounds familiar, it should: among its most devoted readers was Adolph Hitler.
 
Commenting on the book, Hitler once said, "It simply appalled me. The stealthiness of the enemy, and his ubiquity. I saw at once that we must copy it - in our own way of course - it is in truth the critical battle for the fate of the world." He was such an admirer of the book that he made it required reading for the Hitler Youth.
 
Though The Protocols still has its adherents, particularly in the Arab world, it never gained much of a following in the United States. Despite the early efforts of industrialist Henry Ford and other anti-Semites, The Protocols' American fans were generally confined to the malarial swamp of the extreme right.
 
Enter Wal-Mart. Like many booksellers with a brisk Internet trade, the world's biggest retailer offered The Protocols for those who wanted it. However, its competitors usually point out the book's outrageous premise. For example, Amazon, in a lengthy denunciation, describes The Protocols as "One of the most infamous, and tragically influential, examples of racist propaganda ever written."
 
However, Wal-Mart took a decidedly different tack and opined:
 
"If ... The Protocols are genuine (which can never be proven conclusively), it might cause some of us to keep a wary eye on world affairs. We neither support nor deny its message. We simply make it available for those who wish a copy."
 
Understandably, once the leaders of the Anti-Defamation League and the Simon Wiesenthal Center learned about Wal-Mart's review of The Protocols, both groups voiced their outrage.
 
Writing to Wal-Mart President Lee Scott on Sept. 21, Rabbi Abraham Cooper of the Wiesenthal Center said he was "Quite frankly, astounded that a reputable company would even give consideration to marketing this flagrantly hateful text, which libels the Jewish religion and perpetuates the bizarre notion of a Jewish plot to take over the world."
 
Offering no explanation why it plugged The Protocols to begin with, Wal-Mart quietly yanked it off its website the next day. In an e-mail to the Reuters news agency, a Wal-Mart official would only say, "Based on significant customer feedback regarding the book titled 'The Protocols of the Learned Elders of Zion,' we have made a business decision to remove this book."
 
Perhaps Wal-Mart's tight-lipped response to this episode ought to come as no surprise. In recent years its image as a family-friendly merchant has been badly tarnished by conflicts with community groups and revelations of worker abuse. However, the fact that the world's largest retailer treated a notorious anti-Semitic rant as a credible examination of world affairs should not be swept under the rug.
 
Wal-Mart's characterization of The Protocols gave the treatise more exposure and respectability than the neo-Nazi websites where it is routinely celebrated. Almost as disturbing was Wal-Mart's explanation that removing the book was a values-neutral "business decision" rather than a moral choice. It's one thing to say that promoting The Protocols is wrong because it is bad for business, but quite another to admit it is wrong because the book is morally repugnant.
 
Wal-Mart's ambiguous response reflects a disturbing and dangerous new trend in American life: the mainstreaming of anti-Semitism.
 
As time passes and awareness of the Holocaust fades, anti-Semitic attitudes that once were considered out of bounds are increasingly expressed more openly. In France, anti-Semitism, including violence against Jews, has grown so severe that at one point more than one-quarter of French Jews polled reported that they have considered leaving the country permanently.
 
In the United States, anti-Semitism is far less prevalent. But that is changing. One 2003 poll sponsored by the Institute for Jewish & Community Research found that Americans aged 18-34 are more likely to hold anti-Semitic attitudes than their elders. Stunningly, 23 percent of younger respondents agreed with the statement that Jews were a "threat" to the country's "moral character." Roughly the same number believed Jews control the U.S. news media.
 
The notion that Jews manipulate powerful institutions, the basic theme of The Protocols, has found a home at the fringes on both ends of the political spectrum. Both the far left and the far right allege that powerful Jewish forces are guiding U.S. policy in the Middle East to the detriment of our national interests. Extremists on the right see Jews orchestrating much of the nation's economic and cultural life, too. It is little wonder that among some on the far right (presumably those who don't also hate Catholics), actor Mel Gibson is regarded as a hero for defying the "Jewish-controlled" film industry to make The Passion of the Christ.
 
However, whether it originates on the far left or the far right, the danger posed by this anti-Semitism isn't that it will win a wide following any time soon. Instead, the risk is that a new generation, unfamiliar with the reality of the Holocaust - let alone the Spanish Inquisition - will fail to recognize anti-Semitism when they see it. To these Americans, all anyone who preaches hatred of Jews will be guilty of is violating an imagined code of "political correctness."
 
Some institutions are working to combat this trend. Each year, the American Federation of Teachers teams up with the Jewish Labor Committee to send educators to Poland and Israel to learn about the Holocaust and how to bring its lessons into their classrooms. It is a program that works and there are many other effective Holocaust education initiatives, as well. But today they are reaching only a small share of the youngsters who need to understand what happens when racism and bigotry go unchallenged.
 
Americans of all faiths share a stake in pushing back against anti-Semitism. Holocaust education is an important place to start. If we fail to meet the challenge, we may one day discover that Wal-Mart's values have become America's.

Was Stalin a Rothschild?

The identity of Josef Stalin's father is still shrouded in mystery.

According to the "official" story, Stalin's father was a cobbler from Gori, a city in Soviet Georgia. There were rumors circulating during Stalin's lifetime that his real father was the explorer Przhevalsky. People uttering these rumors during Stalin's reign of terror were not murdered because Stalin enjoyed the association. Przhevalsky was a well known Russian hero. His presumed father, Beso, was a drunk and a wife beater. He also beat Stalin. Although Stalin may have gotten some satisfaction from the rumor it was not true. While Przhevalsky did indeed visit Gori around the time of Stalin's conception, he was a homosexual.

So if Beso and Przhevalsky weren't responsible for the world's greatest murderer …than who was?

This very question was explored by Edvard Radzinsky who wrote an in- depth biography of Stalin. Given access to previously secret Kremlin files, Radzinsky noted in his book :

"After Stalin's death, when terror disappeared, people started naming several Supposititious fathers. There was even one Jew, a merchant, among them. But the name most often mentioned was that of Yakov Egnatashvili. He was a wealthy wine merchant, a boxing enthusiast, and one of those Keke [Stalin's mother]worked for. Yakov Egnatashvili must have had some reason for funding Soso's seminary education. People said that Stalin called his first son Yakov in honor of Egnatashvili. . . . I have seen a portrait of this Georgian hero . . . he was certainly nothing like the puny Soso [Stalin's nickname]. . . . (Letter from N. Goglidze, Kiev)"

This is as far as Radzinsky was able to reveal. His information is sufficient however to take the investigation to the next level.

Joseph (Iosif) Dzhugashvili or "Soso", as his mother called him in Georgian fashion, was responsible for murdering millions of people. It has been said that Stalin was responsible for the murder of about 20,000,000 people during the years 1924-1953. Now let's face it. This guy has got to have some pretty powerful connections to pull something like that off. If you want to believe that his father was a well-connected boot maker than go right ahead. A wealthy Jewish wine merchant is also no ticket to the Big Show on the world stage.

We could also rule out the Georgian hero. The wealthy Jewish wine merchant's power was localized to the Georgian wine industry . Physically he was robust while Stalin was described as puny.

Here's the challenge. How do we place Baron Edmond de Rothschild in the home of a wealthy Jewish wine merchant in Gori, Soviet Georgia nine months prior to Stalin's birth? A tall order. After all, Edmond de Rothschild was a banker who lived in Paris, France! Why on earth would he be found in the middle of Soviet Georgia?

Joseph Stalin was born Iosef Vissarionovich Zhugashvili on December 21, 1879 in Gori, Republic of Georgia. At the time of Stalin's conception the Rothschilds were involving themselves in the lucrative Russian oil business. They were involved with oil fields in the Caucausus region of Russia which is includes Azerbajian, Armenia and Georgia.

The great Baku oil region was first opened for development in 1873. Six years before Stalin was born. Working from behind the scenes, the Rothschilds would ensure that the oil of the Caucasus region would find its way to the West thus giving Rockefeller's Standard Oil a run for their money.

It was Edmond, the youngest son of James (Yakov) de Rothschild who did much of the legwork for the Paris branch of the Rothshilds-the family's "oil experts". He would travel overseas in style in the family yacht.

The sea route from France to the Caucasus oil region however ended on the shores of the Black Sea. From there Edmond would have traveled across the Republic of Georgia. Traversing across mountainous Georgia Edmond would have had to pass through Gori, an important trading town. From Gori, Armenian, Azerbaijani, and Jewish merchants once traded with the whole world.

While in Gori it seems likely that he would have sought out refuge with our wealthy Jewish wine merchant Yakov Ignatschivilli, who more than likely had a business connection to Baron Edmond as the Rothschild wine label was exported far and wide. After samplings of the local wines and being a thousand miles from home it would be quite natural for the Baron to cast his eye on the pretty woman who the wine merchant employed as a laundress. The rest is history. Did Stalin name his first son after the wine merchant? Or did he actually name him after his grandfather, Baron James (Yakov) de Rothschild? Or both?

Was Baron Edmond de Rothschild in the Caucasus in the spring of 1879? The destiny of the child, born to the laundress, should give us pause before we rule it out...The answer lies deep within the Rothschild family archives.

It is a curiosity that Stalin began his start as a revolutionary denouncing the Rothschild oil interests. Hitler, who is also suspected of being a Rothschild bastard, also began his career denouncing the Rothschilds as the the power behind the Versailles Treaty and therefore the source of Germany's woes.

In the mysterious world of tarot, all is not as it seems - the Death card is about transformation and the infamous Hanged Man simply represents a need for re-evaluation. But, whatever people learn from their tarot, one thing is clear: at a time of global uncertainty, growing numbers are turning to it for enlightenment.
 
Twenty years ago, tarot cards could only be bought from specialist shops, where they were surrounded with a certain ritual and mystique.
 
Today, cards can be bought in the high street from Waterstone's, WH Smith's and online from Amazon, while New Age and spiritual centres around the country offer tarot readings. tarot parties, like Tupperware but without the plastic, are now common in the suburbs.
 
This weekend, the first British conference of tarot experts opens in London, designed to exchange ideas and explore different aspects of tarot, such as its links with astrology and kabbala, the Jewish mystical system, and the role of women in its symbolism.
 
The organiser, Kim Arnold, a professional reader, said: "Although it is very difficult to quantify, tarot is becoming more and more popular. It's coming out of the shadows and we want to take some of the hocus-pocus out of it.''
 
For many, a certain frisson adheres to tarot, stemming from the turn of the century when it first became popular in Britain because of the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn, a society devoted to the study of mysticism. Its members included W B Yeats and the occultist Aleister Crowley. In 1910, one of its members, Arthur Edward Waite, published The Key to the Tarot, the first modern book on the subject. From this Edwardian fascination came the later use of some of its cards, like the Hanged Man, to represent the occult in countless books and horror films.
 
These symbols are among the 22 picture cards of the tarot, called the major arcana. They also include such traditional images as the Fool, a court jester figure also found in morris dancing, and Justice, a universal image seen from the Egyptian pyramids to the top of the Old Bailey in London.
 
Although playing cards date from ninth-century China, the earliest known tarot packs were made in northern Italy in the 14th century when the major arcana were added to the minor arcana. The four suits of the minor arcana - cups, swords, pentacles and wands - correspond to a conventional deck of cards and to elements of astrology.
 
According to Jewish tradition, the kabbala is the wisdom spoken directly by God to Moses; its celebrity followers include Madonna. The link to tarot was made in the mid-19th century when a Jewish writer related the 22 major arcana to the 22 paths of power given to Moses, which are said to form the branches of the tree of life in the kabbala.
 
Adam Fronteras, author of two books on the tarot and a former president of the British Astrological and Psychic Society, who will speak at the conference on the links between astrology and tarot, said: "I think in these days people are increasingly turning to tarot because it is easy to learn and the images are accessible. But you can't read them yourself because we all lack that objectivity about ourselves - they have to be interpreted.''
 
Ms Arnold stresses that the conference is not a "psychic fair" of the type where the public can wander in off the street to have their fortune told. "Although the public are very welcome, this is a conference for people with a serious interest," she said.
 
One effect of the expansion of tarot, she added, was that tarot reading is unregulated and, unlike astrology, there are no recognised professional bodies for its practitioners. She said: "Among the reasons why we are having this conference is to get a code of conduct to ensure that readers are of a certain standard. There are an awful lot of people out there who should not be practising, doing what I call parlour readings.''

News website Indymedia says FBI seized server

WASHINGTON (AFP) - A website billed as a grassroots news source for the anti-globalization movement and other issues said one of its Web servers was shut down after the FBI  served a subpoena.

The Independent Media Center said the FBI issued an order to hosting company Rackspace "to remove physically one of our servers."

The FBI acknowledged that a subpoena had been issued but said it was at the request of Italian and Swiss authorities.

"It is not an FBI operation," FBI spokesman Joe Parris told AFP.

"Through a legal assistance treaty, the subpoena was on behalf of a third country."

What? Amaraka Sovereign...hahahhahahahha

The FBI spokesman said there was no US investigation but that the agency cooperated under the terms of an international treaty on law enforcement.

Rackspace, a US Web hosting company with offices in London, said it complied with a court order "pursuant to a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, which establishes procedures for countries to assist each other in investigations such as international terrorism, kidnapping and money laundering." "The order was so short-term that Rackspace had to give away our hard drives in the UK," the Independent Media Center said.

Italian news reports said access to Indymedia had been cut as a result of an FBI operation at US and British locations.

Mauro Bulgarelli, a member of Italy's Green party, called it a "provocation and intimidate effort" against the alternative media.

The website was established by organizations during the 1999 World Trade Organization ( protests claiming the mainstream media failed to adequately cover the news.

It calls itself "a network of collectively run media outlets for the creation of radical, accurate and passionate tellings of the truth."

Indymedia said in a statement it "had been asked last month by the FBI to remove a story about Swiss undercover police from one of the websites hosted at Rackspace."

The statement added, "It is not known, however, whether Thursday's order is related to that incident since the order was issued to Rackspace and not to Indymedia. According to Rackspace, they 'cannot provide Indymedia with any information regarding the order.'"

The English word messiah derives from the Hebrew term Moshiach, meaning The Annointed One. This refers to the ancient custom of annointing the head of a king with oil on his accession. Moshiach is the one who will be king at the "end of days", a time to come, when the whole world will follow G-d's rule and there will be peace and harmony.

The Sages teach that "If one is found worthy, the Torah serves him as an elixir of life; if he is not found worthy, it serves him as poison." There are Torah scholars in the second category who are poisoned by pride in their own original scholarly attainments (poor fellows!), and who make use of Talmudic quotations to chill their own spiritual ardor and the innate spiritual ardor of others. They teach Torah superficially, as if it could be fully appreciated by simple, finite mortal intelligence.

According to the Talmud, Jesus was executed by a proper rabbinical court for idolatry, inciting other Jews to idolatry, and contempt of rabbinical authority. All classical Jewish sources which mention his execution are quite happy to take responsibility for it; in the talmudic account the Romans are not even mentioned.

The more popular accounts -- which were nevertheless taken quite seriously -- such as the notorious Toldot Yeshu are even worse, for in addition to the above crimes they accuse him of witchcraft. The very name "Jesus" was for Jews a symbol of all that is abominable, and this popular tradition still persists. The Gospels are equally detested, and they are not allowed to be quoted (let alone taught) even in modern Israeli Jewish schools.
