Iran
resumes nuclear research, angering West
Jan 10, 8:19 AM (ET) By Parisa Hafezi TEHRAN (Reuters) - Iran removed U.N. seals at its Natanz uranium enrichment
plant and resumed nuclear fuel research on Tuesday, drawing sharp Western
criticism but no immediate threats of
Tehran denies wanting nuclear technology for anything but a civilian energy program aimed at satisfying the Islamic Republic's booming demand for electricity.
But the United States and the European Union doubt that Iran's atomic ambitions are entirely peaceful and are likely to ask the U.N. Security Council, which can impose economic sanctions, to take up the matter, Western diplomats said.
The WORLD doubts the US and the Global shemborg Enslavement
Western powers had called on Iran to refrain from any work that could help it develop atomic weapons.
"Iran's nuclear research centers have restarted their activities," Mohammad Saeedi, deputy head of Iran's Atomic Energy Organization, told state television.
He said work at the research facilities would be under the supervision of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), the United Nations nuclear watchdog.
Saeedi told a news conference Iran had come to an agreement with the IAEA on what work Tehran would do. He gave no details.
The IAEA in Vienna confirmed Iran was removing U.N. seals at Natanz, an underground plant in central Iran that Tehran concealed from U.N. inspectors until an Iranian exile group revealed its existence in August 2002.
Deja Vu
"The Iranians have begun removing seals at Natanz in the presence of IAEA inspectors," said IAEA spokeswoman Melissa Fleming.
STEP IN THE WRONG DIRECTION
Gregory Schulte, Washington's ambassador to the IAEA, said Iran's move showed its "disdain for international concerns."
International Noahide concern
"The regime continues to choose confrontation over cooperation," he said in a statement.
Off with their Heads....Purim
The European Union was quick to denounce the resumption of research, which a spokeswoman for EU foreign policy chief Javier Solana labeled "a step in the wrong direction."
after the "crossroads"
German Foreign Minister Frank-Walter Steinmeier said German diplomats would meet Solana and British and French envoys in Berlin this week to decide "whether there is now any basis for further negotiations with Iran."
British Foreign Minister Jack Straw said: "There was no good reason why Iran should have taken this step if its intentions are truly peaceful."
Straw boss of the shemborg
Russia, which is helping Iran build a nuclear power station at the southern port of Bushehr, said Tehran should abide by international commitments and that its decision to resume research caused concern.
European diplomats have said they would seek an emergency meeting of the IAEA to consider referring Tehran to the Security Council for failing to allay fears it is seeking an atom bomb.
It is unclear if Iran will simply test equipment or actually produce small amounts of nuclear fuel in a laboratory. The IAEA did not specify any of the work the Iranians were undertaking.
One EU and one non-EU diplomat said Iran was planning to get 164 centrifuges running at Natanz to try to master the technique of producing nuclear fuel. Centrifuges enrich uranium by spinning it at supersonic speed.
However, such a small cascade would take many years to produce enough bomb-grade uranium for a single weapon.
If enriched to a low level, uranium can be used in power stations such as the one at Bushehr. If enriched further, it can be used in atomic warheads.
An intelligence source said Iran intended to feed uranium hexafluoride (UF6) into the cascade at Natanz soon, but had not informed the IAEA about this.
A Western diplomat close to the IAEA said agency inspectors were at Natanz and would report anything the Iranians did there to the IAEA board of governors. "The facility is fully safeguarded," the diplomat said.
However, Saeedi denied any suggestion that Iran was resuming the production of nuclear fuel at the Natanz facility.
"There is a difference between research and producing nuclear fuel ... The production of nuclear fuel is still under suspension," he told the news conference.

Purim
in the land where it began ersian-born Jews of San Diego talk about their
special holiday
San Diego Jewish Press-Heritage, March 21, 1997
San Diego (special) -- Each year in San Diego, we make lots of noise whenever the name of Haman is uttered during the reading of the Megillah. We participate in costume parades and eat hamantaschen. But what are some of the customs for celebrating Purim in Iran, the nation where the story of Queen Esther and Mordechai actually took place?
Manijeh Breskin, executive director of Congregation Dor Hadash, recalled that when she was growing up in the capital city of Teheran, it was customary for children to fashion a puppet with a triangular hat and "this would be Haman and he would be our slave and we would pull him on the floor behind us."
Today, the former Manijeh Shadpour is married to an Ashkenazic Jew (Stephen Breskin) so she is aware that some Ashkenazim (Jews of central and Eastern European ancestry) write the evil Haman's name on the bottoms of their shoes, "symbolizing walking on him" But Iranian Jewish children "would make the puppet and pull it behind us."
"Some kids liked to put him on fire, but that wasn't a good idea, so the parents wouldn't agree," Breskin recalled.
Dr. Joshua Cohen, an obstetrician who grew up in the Iranian city of Isfahan, said Haman would be burned in effigy under some circumstances in Jewish quarters of villages and cities, but the effigy would be called "Omar" instead of "Haman."
Today, Iran is an Islamic country, and most of its residents are Shi'ites, belonging to the branch of Islam which believes that their prophet Mohammed's true successor was his son-in-law Ali. Shi'ites also believe that Omar (whom the Sunni Muslims recognized as the successor) was a usurper.
Convenient
Accordingly, Cohen explained, when an effigy said to be that of Omar was hanged in effigy and set afire, none of the Shi'ite Muslim authorities objected.
See the shemborg shiits, Iraq
On the other hand, a religious rite based upon Haman might have raised questions, even though Haman and the other non-Jewish characters of the Purim shpiel lived many centuries prior to the advent of Islam and probably followed the Zoroastrian religion.
Breskin said most Jewish ceremonies in Iran would be performed in the privacy of the home, or in the synagogue, to avoid attracting attention. Although during the last decade of the reign of the Shah, Jewish worship became more public (even occasionally being covered on Iranian television), it has reverted to strict privacy since 1979 when Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi was overthrown and the current Islamic Revolutionary government came into power.
Breskin and the Cohens both left Iran before the fall of the Shah, deciding not to return after the ayatollahs took power.
Whereas triangular pastries shaped like Haman's ears or hat (hamantaschen) are the favorite holiday treat in the West, Breskin said that in Iran the standard Purim dessert is halva. She does not mean the halva which has the consistency of sawdust that is sold in various delicatessens in San Diego, but rather a different varietey of halva, which has the consistency of Mexican flan.
Breskin said dessert-makers vie with each other to come up with the best design on the halvah, which they decorate with almonds, safron, pistachios and other edibles. The decorations are up to each individual's imagination, but Hebrew words, designs and even scenes from the Book of Esther are frequent themes.
She said that halva is often served at weddings and is also brought to houses of mourning, and has come to be associated both with events of great happiness and great sadness. "It's very appropriate for Purim," she said, because although Haman's plans for the destruction of the Jews were defeated by the clever Queen Esther, "the story could have gone the other way."
Sanhedrin's Mordechai and the whore Easter's murder scheme
Halva is served at the synagogues for the onegs following the megillah reading, she said. Additionally it often is sent to friends and relatives as part of a shalach manot present.
Esther and Mordechai are believed to be buried in a tomb in the Iranian city of Hamadan, which is located between Teheran and Iran's western border with Iraq.
Lyda Cohen, wife of the obstetrician, remembers having gone from her home in Teheran to visit the tomb. One had to bow low to go inside its entrance, assuring that a pilgrim entered with an attitude of respect.
Bowing to murderers
She recalled that pilgrims would pray while walking around two large, ornately
carved trunks, before they would back out of the tomb. By backing out, the
pilgrims avoided showing disrespect to the great personages buried inside.
The burial sites of Mordechai and Esther were said to be in the cellar below, in the exact locations where the two trunks were placed on the floor above, she recalled.

Chabad takeover
Daniel 11:
14: And in those times there shall many stand up against the king of the south:
also the robbers of thy people shall exalt themselves to establish the vision; but they shall fall.Few people would deny the amazing work that Chabad has done in Jewish outreach and the success of this global hassidic movement founded by Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liady in bring previously unaffiliated Jews into the fold and giving them a sense of community, belonging and heritage.
While Kfar Chabad, with its replica of 770 Eastern Parkway, is the focal point of Chabad activity in Israel, and contains the largest concentration of Chabad families, educational institutions and printing works for Chabad publications, Chabad is extremely visible in Jerusalem and has become even more so in recent years as its down-town facilities have multiplied.
The situation has intensified since the death of the Rebbe eleven years ago. Even in his lifetime, Chabadniks used to go around singing "We want Meshiach now." Since his passing, the messianic arm of Chabad has become much more forceful.
"Give us the "Robber" Crucify Jesus and behead his saints"
The Messianic Chabadniks who spend a great deal of time in the Ben Yehuda Mall and outside the Central Bus Station are much more aggressive in their approach -- almost to the extent of being coercive.
It used to be kind of a cute thing to see clusters of Chabad males at busy intersections inviting bareheaded young Jews to say a prayer and put on tefilin. This initial binding experience often led to a deeper commitment to the tenets of the faith, partially because that first encounter with Chabad was such a joyous experience.
Similarly, few women, even the least observant,
refuse the candles that Chabad women distribute on Fridays in downtown Jerusalem streets and in the area of the Central Bus Station. The Rebbe coined an acronym for these candles. He called them neshek - weapons, deriving from nerot Shabbat kodesh (holy Sabbath candles) whose light continued to be a significant weapon against assimilation.
Isa:50:11: Behold, all ye that kindle a fire, that compass yourselves about with sparks: walk in the light of your fire, and in the sparks that ye have kindled. This shall ye have of mine hand; ye shall lie down in sorrow.
The women handing out the candles -- even those who belong the messianic arm of Chabad --
The SON of Perdition, False Christ left arm of the dragon, Moshiach ben satan
seldom if ever try to force them on anyone. The offer is made, but if it is refused, it is not pursued.
With the men, it's different. It started with the Chabad mitzvah tank. For some strange reason, the sound systems in the mitzvah tanks are harsh and grating on the ear. Whether it's someone protesting activities offensive to Judaism, shouting lessons for the day or amplifying tinny music, the effect is annoying, and an
invasion of privacy.Although the mitzvah tank per se is not traversing the Ben Yehuda Mall, there are Chabad musicians whose sound system is turned up so high as to drown out all the regular musicians.
This would be bad enough if the singers were in good voice. But on a recent evening in the mall, there was a young man with a raucous voice and unbounded enthusiasm, who assailed the public not only with his singing, but with synthesizer that he was playing at full volume, while a small group of other Chabadniks gathered around him.
The zealous young man with the raucous voice may have thought that he was serving his Creator, but in fact he was doing the opposite. He was depriving the general public of a pleasurable stroll by assailing their eardrums, and he impinged on the earnings of the street musicians positioned elsewhere in the mall, because quite a large number of people chose to take another route from Jaffa Road to King George rather than be forced to listen.
While many of us, especially those who eat kosher, are delighted to come across Chabad Centers when traveling abroad, there is a limit to how much we can take of Chabad on our home turf.
Chabad has a great propensity for growth. When I was a child growing up in Australia there was barely a handful of Chabad institutions in my hometown Melbourne. Last year when I was back in Melbourne for a family wedding, I visited with Rabbi Yitzhok Groner who has been the moving force of Chabad for decades. He proudly told me that there were 16 Chabad institutions in Melbourne. It would not surprise me to learn that the number has since increased.
While full of admiration for that which Chabad has achieved, I would not want to live in a Chabad theocracy. It's unlikely that it would actually come to that in Jerusalem, but it does appear to be moving in that direction, which should raise a couple of red alerts.

Re Kabballa

Mendel, as far as I know, in yeshivot they teach Gemara be iyun and bekitzur. It takes most of the day. Kabbala could be learned by some more advanced but why is it teaching, if a few guys on their own make a chaburah to learn something. On the opposite, in Chabad, kabbala is brought to a level of minhag, and is taught prior to many other matters. However, that's just a minor issue today, after so much destruction and degradation. Look up, the kabbala centers will teach you who knows the true stuff, just like chabad is trying to make a point to the rest of the Jews.

Messianic Chabad is not taking over Judaism, let alone Jerusalem. While it is remarkable how much of their approach duplicates the New Testament, which they have nver read, the real tragedy is that many followers have been mislead by Butman and his cohorts into a false new religion. They are not worried about the Rebbi turning over in his grave because they are convinced that the rebbi isn't there. Rabbi Krinsky and the tradional Chabad segment has unfortunately been unable to stem the tide of this nonsense.,. but the we, the rest of the Jewish world, have to accord these Messianic nuts the same regard we give to any other Christian or Far Eastern sects. It is unfortunate that they have strayed but at least we have to act to save potential followers; we cannot let them bring others to their new idolatry.

This is not the first anti-Chabad article in this paper, the Jerusalem Post and the Jerusalem Report in special have a tendency for that. But what it's funny about this one is that the author uses terms that he/she (not clear to me sorry) doesn't even understand. I don't think this person could recognise a true Torah Chiddush or a Theocracy if she were face to face with one. But she/he is good at bigotry, generalizations, and stupidity in general. I hope she/he has a lot of success in this news paper that way intelligent people will stop reading this garbage.
23. The Chabad religion
Iris O. - Israel
01/09/2006 10:54
When will the Jewish community wake up and discover that Chabad has become a new religion? The majority of Chabadniks are mashiachniks who believe that a dead Rebbe is the Mashiach. A dead person cannot be Mashiach. If you are a student of history, you have heard this story before. It leads to a false messiah crisis in Judaism, or leads to a new religion. Ever heard of Christianity? The resemblance is scary. Chabad did a great service for Judaism, but now they are teaching Jews in isolated communities around the world that authentic Judaism requires worshipping the Rebbe. They should be required to denounce this idea, or be declared a different religion by the rabbinical establishment. Waiting on this problem only makes it worse and leads to more Jews being lost to a new messianic religion.

Thank you for your sweet words. Chabad is not about learning or growing, but about taking over. Why would Chabad offer to sephardim, lithuanian Jews, galitzian Jews, or others the same brand of chabad Judaism? Is Chabad aware of our rich Jewish past? Or the Jewish history only had Shneur Zalman and Tzemach Tzedek? Do you know that there was another Tzemach Tzedek? Or R'Chaim Volozhiner, Netziv, Hida, Baba Sali, Chofetz Chaim, Kedushat Levy, HaRIM? Why is every chabad dvar Torah only composed of the "word of the Rebbe"? Was he as great as Vilna Gaon or Yehuda HeHasid? In Russia, people suffered a lot from the personality cult of Stalin only to start having personality cult of a no longer living rebbe. If you are learned people, you should know full well what the author of the article is speaking of. And if you sincerely don't, please learn Hovot Halevavot, Mesilath Yesharim, Shaarei Teshuva, Alei Shur to develop some sensitivity and respect to other Jews before learning kabala

Have you studied the idealogy ever in your narrow minded life. Or is this what you have been indoctrinated with since your youth. Ask any one about The works of the Tzemach Tzedek for one. In addition you will not see a philosiphy that emphasizes G-d and His unity more than Chabad Chassidus. I was a Chabad follower for ten years until I was in Israel in 2004 and found the Chabad proclaiming "We love all Jews" on the one hand, and their rabbi spokesmen both in Israel and the US making inciting statements against Sharon, and urging AG Mazuz to prosecute Sharon as a Neo Nazi, and stating they had received the Rebbe's blessing for their actions. Back in the States I spoke to my Chabad rabbi about this and he refused to say anything publicly for fear of losing members from his congregation. I walked away in disgust and never looked back

If the young man's music was loud and obnoxious and a turn off than certainly this article will be for the good as the Chabad leaders will quickly rectify the situation. Such is their love for a fellow jew, that the young man could quickly face reassignment. In the meantime, unterveigens or at home, Chabad is there at the Rebbe's request to help to help a fellow Jew do a mitzvah and thereby hasten the redemption!

As Abramoff case plays out,
his Jewish ties come to fore
WASHINGTON, Jan. 9 (JTA) — Reading the indictment against Jack Abramoff, one might not know that he was prominent in Washington Jewish circles. But in coming months, his ties with Jewish and Israeli organizations may play a large role in the web of illegal activity to which the lobbyist has pled guilty.
While Abramoff has been portrayed as a man willing to do nearly anything to further his political goals and wallet, he also has been an idiosyncratic player in the Jewish community of the nation’s capital, starting several short-lived, money-losing ventures to fill religious gaps he saw in the city’s Jewish world.
He also used his largess to further Israeli businesses and charities that appealed to his conservative worldview.
Specifically, Abramoff is accused of using money from a Washington charity he oversaw to fund military-type programs in the West Bank. Indian tribes donated money to tax-exempt charities, believing they were supporting anti-gambling foundations, but the money was redirected to help a (talmudic Hassidic) “sniper school” in the West Bank, operated by a friend of Abramoff.
According to congressional documents, Abramoff sought night-vision goggles and a vehicle for the sniper-training facility.
Abramoff also allegedly worked on behalf of an Israeli firm that sought to wire the Capitol for cellular phone use. While leading cell phone manufacturers in the United States settled on JGC Wireless to install antennas in repeaters in House buildings, an Israeli company with ties to Abramoff, Foxcom Wireless, ultimately won the bid.
The switch is allegedly linked to Rep. Bob Ney (R-Ohio), chairman of the House Administration Committee, who accepted numerous favors from Abramoff over the years, and placed comments in the Congressional Record favorable to Abramoff’s ventures.
Foxcom didn’t pay Abramoff to lobby for the House job, but it did donate $50,000 to the Capitol Athletic Foundation, an Abramoff charity, the Washington Post reported.
Foxcom has changed its name to MobileAccess and moved its headquarters to Virginia. A spokesman did not respond to requests for comment.
Abramoff also has been tied to two rabbis, the Lapin brothers from South Africa, who aided his political and personal ventures. David Lapin was hired to run a Jewish school Abramoff created in suburban Maryland to teach his children and others.
Lapin also received close to $1.2 million to promote “ethics in government” to the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, one of Abramoff’s clients. Officials on the island said Lapin did little for the money.
His brother, Daniel Lapin, is president of Toward Tradition, an interfaith (Noahide) group. Abramoff allegedly asked him to create an award to bestow upon Abramoff to help his acceptance into Washington’s Cosmos Club. Abramoff suggested he could be a “scholar of Talmudic studies” or a “distinguished biblical scholar.”
Lapin said yes, according to e-mails obtained by congressional investigators, and asked whether Abramoff needed a letter or a plaque. Lapin told the Washington Post he meant the exchange to be tongue-in-cheek and never produced an award for Abramoff.
Two other Abramoff aides moved (Fled) to Israel last year as investigators continued their probe. Sam Hook and his wife, Shana Tesler, both worked at Abramoff’s law firm and had been cooperating with investigators before moving to Israel in July, according to The Hill, a Washington newspaper. The Orthodox Jews had long planned to move to Israel, their attorney said last year.
hahahahhahhahahhahahahahha to get away from the goyim courts
Abramoff also made contributions to several Jewish lawmakers, among numerous congressmen Abramoff and his associates help finance. Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) donated $7,000 – the amount he received from Abramoff – to charity last week.
A spokesman for Sen. Arlen Specter (R-Pa.) did not respond to questions about the $1,000 he received from Abramoff, according to Federal Election Commission filings.
In Washington, Abramoff was best known for his idiosyncratic use of his money. He shunned other religious schools in the area, choosing to open Eshkol Academy specifically for his children’s education.
The school closed within two years, and several teachers say they are owed back pay. David Lapin, the school’s dean, was not an active administrator, former teachers said.
Abramoff also opened several kosher restaurants that failed quickly. Stacks, a deli, was welcomed by the city’s Jewish community, but never made money. A more formal restaurant upstairs, Archives, never stayed open for more than a few weeks at a time.
Some Jewish professionals found it noteworthy that the Abramoff that appeared outside a Washington courthouse Jan. 3 — with a long, double-breasted black coat and black hat — resembled a devout Jew on his way to Shabbat services.
Chabad Lubavitch
As Abramoff faces more political trouble, he may continue to foster ties to the Jewish world. In a New York Times interview last year, Abramoff compared himself to the biblical character Jacob, saying his involvement in lobbying was similar to Jacob’s taking the identity of his brother, Esau. A spokesman for Abramoff later told JTA his client was misquoted.

The Marines now seem to be recruiting 8-year olds (got to meet those recruitment quotas!). Sheesh! This was forwarded to me by a friend, who is the spouse of a school principal. The principal had found it frightening that the recruiter seemed to have contacted all county elementary schools principals. Oh yeah — I forgot: NO CHILD LEFT BEHIND.
One of the principals who received this email found it "scary," and commented "Does this look like the young Nazis or what?" In fact, a photo posted at their website, under the history of the Young Marines, is shockingly similar to a photo of Hitler Youth.
Chris Hardin, Commanding Officer, Sumner County Young Marines sent this email:
Dear Principals:
My name is Chris Hardin and I am the Commanding Officer for the Sumner County Young Marines. The reason I am contacting you is to see if my staff and I may either come into the schools and inform the children of the program or to see if we can send literature to the school and it be sent home with the children. We are starting a new session the beginning of February. My staff and I would like to get the information to the children no later than January 27th.
Below you will find some information about the program. Please take a moment and read over it and let me know which option would be available.
Who we are
The Young Marines is a youth education and service programs for boys and girls, ages 8 through completion of high school. The Young Marines promotes the mental, moral, and physical development of its members. The program focuses on character building, leadership, and promotes a healthy, drug-free lifestyle. The Young Marines is the official youth program of the U.S. Marine
Corps and the focal point for the Marine Corps’ Youth Drug Demand Reduction efforts.
Membership
The Young Marines is open to all youth ages 8 through completion of high school. The only membership requirement is that the youth must be in good standing at school. Since the Young Marines’ humble beginnings, in 1958, with one unit and a handful of boys, the organization has grown to over 240 units with 10,000 youth and 3,000 adult volunteers in 46 states, the District of Columbia, and, Germany, Japan and affiliates in a host of other countries.
Our Volunteers
Young Marine units are community-based programs lead by dedicated adult volunteers. Many of these volunteers are former, retired, active duty, or reserve Marines who believe passionately that the values they learned as Marines had a positive affect on them. It is through these caring adults that Young Marines learn the inner values of Honor, Courage and Commitment. Adult volunteers are individually screened by the National Headquarters based on background information and recommendations provided with each person’s registration.
Training
Upon joining a local Young Marine unit, youth undergo a 26-hour orientation program, generally spread out over several weekly meetings. This orientation program is affectionately called "Boot Camp." The youth learn general subjects such as history, customs and courtesies, close order drill, physical fitness, and military rank structure. After graduating from Young Marine "Boot Camp", the youth have the opportunity to learn more new skills, earn rank, wear the Young Marine uniform and work toward ribbon awards. Young Marines earn ribbons for achievement in areas such as leadership, community service, swimming, academic excellence, first aid and drug resistance education.
R.Lee Ermey, the Young Marines official celebrity spokesperson
The Young Marines are honored to have R. Lee Ermey as their official celebrity spokesperson. Mr. Ermey garnered worldwide acclaim for his portrayal of Drill Instructor Gunnery Sergeant Hartman in Stanley Kubrik’s film Full Metal Jacket (1987). Ermey is the host of the History Channel’s hit show, Mail Call.
Chester, the official mascot of the Young Marines
Chester, the puppy bulldog, is the Young Marines official mascot. Chester enjoys all the benefits of Young Marine membership such as the opportunity to earn rank and ribbons, wear the Young Marine uniform, and a free subscription to the Young Marine Esprit magazine. Chester sometimes even makes guest appearances at unit meetings, graduations, and training conferences.
Young Marines Veterans Appreciation Week
For one week in November each year, Young Marine units across the country celebrate Young Marines Veterans Appreciation Week (YMVAW). The purpose of the campaign is to challenge our Young Marines to dedicate some of their time to help our nation’s veterans and to demonstrate, through their actions, their sincere appreciation for our veterans’ service to our country. Unit projects include sending thank you cards to hospitalized veterans, cleaning up a disabled veterans yard, visiting veterans in the hospital, or simply setting up a community function to socialize with local veterans.
Mission
The mission of the Young Marines is to positively impact America’s future by providing quality youth development programs for boys and girls that nurtures and develops its members into responsible citizens who enjoy and promote a healthy, drug-free lifestyle.

The recruiter’s phone number is listed on their [website http://www.youngmarines.com/], so I don’t feel I’m giving away any private information.
Interesting that the Young Marine Obligation includes the words," shall never do anything that would bring disgrace or dishonor upon God." Also interesting that #3 of the codes says, "Keep myself clean in mind by attending the church of my faith." Does that mean children of athiests need not apply? Or that children who are Wickens are welcomed?
A former Marine I know had this to say: "Those kids need to be getting much of the same discipline and fitness through the Boy and Girl Scouts and not the military." Good — so it’s not just me!!

Christian Zionist
support - a mixed blessing
On a summer evening in 2002, the Zionist Organization of America held its annual banquet, the occasion for bestowing its Israel Friendship Award. The honor went to
Rev. Pat Robertson, the television evangelist and political activist who was perhaps the most visible public face of Christian Zionism. At that particular moment in time, one could argue, Jews in both Israel and America could not afford to be especially finicky in choosing their allies. In the aftermath of the bloodiest month of suicide bombings during the Aksa intifada, the IDF had invaded and reoccupied the West Bank in early April, earning the predictable international condemnation. The chorus only grew in response to the reports, ultimately discredited, that Israeli troops had massacred hundreds of Palestinian civilians in Jenin.
The Bloodlusting Judeo-Churchinsanity partook in the massacres
So not only were the geopolitical right-wingers on hand that night in suburban Chicago, led by Morton Klein, the Zionist Organization of America's president. Not only were those Jews involved in building a political coalition with evangelical Christians, such as Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein. So was David Roet, the deputy consul-general of Israel in the Midwest, embodying the government of Ariel Sharon.
Three-and-a-half years and a disengagement from Gaza later, Robertson's honor stands as vivid evidence of why Jews ought to treat Christian Zionism with equal measures of gratitude and wariness. As an axiom I learned from a community organizer puts it, "No permanent friends, no permanent enemies."
By now, most sensate Jews have heard of Robertson's comments last week on his television show, The 700 Club. Likening Sharon's incapacitating stroke to Yitzhak Rabin's assassination, Robertson explained, "He was dividing God's land. And I would say, 'Woe unto any prime minister of Israel who takes a similar course to appease the EU, the United Nations or the United States of America.' God says, 'This land belongs to me. You better leave it alone.'"
THE STATEMENT is as illuminating as it is repugnant, and what it illuminates is the contingency of Christian Zionist support. By its very theological absolutism, Christian Zionism amounts to a very unreliable partner. As long as Israeli Jews play their ordained role in the eschatological plan, resettling the entire Land as a precondition for the Second Coming - when, by the way, they presumably will either become Christians or die as heathens - the Pat Robertsons will remain steadfast. Should the actually existing Israel make compromises on territory in order to preserve a Jewish majority and create a more secure border, enter the avenging hand of the Almighty.
The Ones who think that God wants a flesh Kingdom, who deny SION God's Holy Mountain in Heaven
Long before gloating over Sharon's collapse, Robertson had more than amply demonstrated his penchant for outrageous and offensive rhetoric, comparing feminists to witches, for instance, and urging the assassination of the leftist leader of Venezuela, Hugo Chavez.
The Judeo Churchinsanity BLOOD lust of their father the murderer from the beginning. Robertson's father is that Old Serpent that dragon, if you are in agreement you too are of your father and that lust for blood you will do
In a 1993 interview with the columnist Molly Ivins, nearly a decade before the Zionist Organization of America saw fit to fete him, Robertson had the audacity to compare the Nazi extermination of European Jewry to what American liberals were doing to evangelical Christians.
For Robbers Son is of the RED Sofiet Right Wingers Chabad Lubavitch
"It's no different," he said. "It is the same thing. It is happening all over again."
This penchant for noxious rhetoric typifies other mainstays of Christian Zionism. Rev. Jerry Falwell, like Robertson one of the most prominent figures in the Religious Right, infamously blamed the September 11 attacks on "the pagans, and the abortionists, and the feminists, and the gays and the lesbians" as well as "all of them who have tried to secularize America."
Words like that tend to take a wee bit of the satisfaction out of hearing Falwell say, "To stand against Israel is to stand against God."
To Stand with the Whore is to Fall From Eternal Salvation
I am hardly arguing for Jewish Zionists to spurn their Christian comrades. The emergence of philo-Semitism among evangelical Christians represents a welcome and reassuring reversal both of a longtime strain of anti-Jewish sentiment among fundamentalist Christians and of the currently trendy support for disinvestment from Israel by traditionally liberal mainstream Protestant denominations.
The Protestants Protest Jesus now for they have embraced Aholah Dan
Christian Zionists have worked closely and admirably with American Jews on calling international attention to the genocide in Darfur. Personally, I will always remember the sight of several dozen Christians on a solidarity mission to Israel in a departure lounge at Newark airport, as footage of the Dolphinarium suicide-bombing showed on the CNN monitors. There was scarcely an American Jew booked on that flight.
MEANWHILE, Robertson has apologized for his remarks about Sharon, just as he has apologized for similar effusions in the past. Several leaders of the National Association of Evangelicals have taken pains to distance themselves from Robertson, implying that his ilk is losing influence and passing from the Christian scene. For their part, Israelis may be inclined to shrug off Robertson's comments as they have shrugged off similar calumnies from Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.
For Jews who think God cried when Gush Katif was evacuated, and for Jews who share the puritanical social agenda of the Religious Right, Christian Zionism is an uncomplicated asset. For the rest of us, the common-sense centrists in Israeli and American Jewry who saw in Ariel Sharon the expression of our beliefs, the passion of Pat Robertson must be, if you'll forgive the phrase, a mixed blessing.

Exclusive: Rabbi Shalom Elyashiv and Rabbi
Ovadia Yosef Helped Renew Ordination For Sanhedrin (IsraelNN.com) In a dramatic speech at a special session of the developing
Sanhedrin to appoint
a B'nai Noah Council, Rabbi Dov Levanoni publicly revealed the steps leading
up to reinstitution of Semikha – Biblical ordination, renewed through a
consensus among the rabbis of a generation living in the Land of Israel. Dig into the Wall Ezekiel and see the Abominations the
seventy ancients of the House of ITSREALHELL DO there...Ezekiel 8 Their is NO AUTHORITY given by God, but the dragon has
given them their seat and authority, see Revelation 13......., BEWARE ! and worship the dragon who gave them their

Levanoni explained that Rabbi Moshe Halberstam, a senior rabbi on Jerusalem's
Eda Hareidis, became the first samukh [ordained one] after none of the
hundreds of rabbis consulted via written letters expressed objections and after
receiving approval by the leading rabbis followed by most of Israel's religious
Jews. These rabbis, Levanoni said, included Hareidi-Religious
Rabbi Shalom Elyashiv and former Chief Sephardic Rabbi Ovadia Yosef.
"Rav Zalman Nechemia Goldberg gave his blessing as well, along with many
others," Rabbi Levanoni said, "and we pray that
all of Israel will join in this effort in our days."
In the past, Sanhedrin secretary
Rabbi Dov Stein, has
written that Former Chief Sephardic Rabbi Mordechai Eliyahu endorsed the
project indirectly - his son was ordained by Sanhedrin - and that former
Ashkenazi Chief Rabbi and Rosh Yeshiva of Merkaz HaRav Kook Rabbi Avraham
Shapira chose to abstain on the issue, but refused to discourage it.
Rabbi Levanoni's statement marked the first time Rabbis
Yosef and Elyashiv have been publicly tied to the Sanhedrin project and
is expected to further increase the influence of the nascent body, which was
recently bolstered by Rabbi Adin Even-Israel Steinsaltz's agreement to act as
its Nassi [president].
