was a student strike in 1977 at the London School of Economics. Whenever

helps to make an open society.

In response to the
news that Miami police were going to conduct random sieges, checks of ID's
and patrols of buses and trains, the ACLU stabbed America in the back again by
shrugging their shoulders and stating that the new measures did not violate
anybody's rights.
“What we’re
dealing with is officers on street patrol, which is more effective and more
consistent with the Constitution,” Simon said. “We’ll have to see how it
is implemented," said Howard Simon , executive director of ACLU Florida.
Consistent with the Constitution? This is
the most clear violation of what it means to live in a free society than you're
ever going to see short of when they cart us all off to those cozy ex-Soviet
gulag camps.
The Miami model is akin to the police
looking for a man driving a red Volkswagen in the western United States. They
decide to raid a bank building in Albuquerque because the felon just might
happen to be in that one building out of a list of potential hundreds of

notoriously brutal in the country. During the November 2003 FTAA protests,

indiscriminately beat, arrested, searched, gassed, pepper sprayed and shot
rubber bullets at protesters in a psychotic orgy of jackbooted tyranny.
Reports of plain clothed police agitating
amongst the protesters matched similar tactics used during the 1999 WTO protests
in Seattle.
Local chapters of the ACLU are staffed by
well intentioned but often misled and deluded people. However, the state and
national branches are firmly infiltrated and used to take big national attention
cases, lose them and create bad case law.
The ACLU announcement was intended to put
Americans to sleep when the cold hard facts of the Miami model should have

Hoyer looks to Israel

Rep. Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said he believes the United States will approve a
supplemental aid package for Israel next year.
The U.S. House of Representatives’ minority whip said he believes an aid
package, to develop the Negev and Galilee regions in the wake of Israel’s
withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, will find support in the next congressional
session. Israel had been expected to ask for additional aid this year, but held
off after the U.S. government incurred huge costs from fall hurricanes.
“Next year, hopefully it will get serious consideration,” Hoyer said
Tuesday in a meeting in New York with JTA’s editorial staff. “If we have the
willingness to do so, we can afford to deal not only with tragedies at home but
continue to invest in parts of the world that are critical.”
In a wide-ranging discussion, Hoyer said he believes Iran will come under
increasing European pressure to end its presumed nuclear-weapons program, and
said the United States should do more to end genocide in the Sudan. He called
national security policy the Democratic Party’s “Achilles heel,” adding
that the party must do more to showcase its security credentials and communicate
a coherent foreign policy vision to Jews and other voters.

In court case, community
weighs
gay rights and pro-Israel strategy

WASHINGTON, Nov. 29 (JTA) — A U.S. Supreme Court case next month pits the American
military against colleges and universities. But for much of the Jewish
community, it pits their traditional views on gay rights against their interest
in curbing anti-Israel rhetoric in higher education.
The high court will hear the case of Rumsfeld v. FAIR on Dec. 6. It
challenges the constitutionality of the Solomon
Amendment, which would cut all federal higher
education funds to colleges and universities that refuse to allow military
recruiters onto campus.
Several law schools have prevented military recruiters from meeting with
students on campus, protesting the Pentagon’s “don’t ask, don’t tell”
policy toward gays and lesbians.
The Forum for Academic and Institutional Rights, which represents law school
professors and student organizations, claims the Solomon Amendment, passed by
Congress in 1996, violates law schools’ free-speech rights. A federal appeals
court found the amendment unconstitutional last year.
Many Jewish groups have been
sympathetic to the gay community’s civil-rights issues but have chosen
to stay out of this case. While leaders note that they don’t get involved in
all cases, they concede that part of the reason is a conflict between support
for gay rights and support for the federal government’s policy of placing
restrictions on federal aid to colleges and universities.
Court watchers in the Jewish community say the Solomon
Amendment could set a precedent for allowing Congress to set parameters for
federal funds it gives to institutes of higher education. Jewish
groups see that as an opportunity to move legislation through Congress to stem
anti-Semitism and anti-Israel rhetoric on campus.
“It’s already a precedent,” said Gary Tobin, president of the Institute
for Jewish and Community Research, and author of “The Uncivil University: Politics
and Propaganda in American Education.” “Ultimately, if campuses
can’t deal with systematic anti-Semitism and anti-Israel rhetoric, I would be
in favor of legislation that holds them accountable at the state level and
federal level.”

The federal government places parameters on much of the money it doles out,
but has been loathe to place restrictions on the $180 billion it gives to
colleges and universities each year, fearing it will stifle academic freedom
on campus.

federal funds to university programs on foreign cultures and languages. Several
Jewish leaders claim the money has been used to promote anti-Israel and
anti-Semitic biases.

They’re working on Capitol Hill to get an advisory
board to monitor money doled out through Title VI, but if that doesn’t

“The threat of federal intervention on this issue is the last thing you want
if colleges and universities do discriminate.”
Even so, it has led several Jewish groups to move away from their usual
alliance with gay-rights groups.

policy when it was unveiled in 1993. But Marc Stern, the organization’s
counsel, said the issue goes beyond the military’s gay-rights policy.
“We gave a lot of sympathy with the unease for the ‘don’t ask, don’t
tell’ policy,” Stern said. “I’m not sure, however, that ill-at-ease
means the military should be excluded from universities.”
“Don’t ask, don’t tell” allows gays and lesbians to serve in the
military provided they don’t disclose their sexual orientation. It was
unveiled by President Clinton in 1993 as a compromise after military leaders
objected to his push to allow gays and lesbians to serve openly.

The Anti-Defamation League and
Reform movement were among the groups that objected to the Pentagon’s proposal
at the time. Neither group signed on to briefs in the Solomon Amendment case.
Mark Pelavin, associate director of the Religious Action Center for Reform
Judaism, said the issue hasn’t garnered much attention in the community.
“It just never found its way onto our radar screen,” he said. “I
don’t think we had a single conversation on it internally.”
ADL officials were unavailable for comment.
“I think people were just not able to get their head around this case,”
Stern said. “This case is not about the validity of gay rights.”

MI head: Nuclear talks with Iran will be

international community will have failed to halt Iran's
attempts to acquire nuclear weapons, diplomatic efforts on the matter will be

arrested in Austria on the 11th of November, 2005. Since the beginning of

six days the Austrian government did not notify the world about his

When did I discover that
I was the Moshiach and how do I know? Good question.
I discovered that I was the Moshiach as soon as I discovered
the meaning of the word "Moshiach." As stated above,
the essential meaning of "moshiach" is the man who
discovers the meaning of life, and who communicates that
knowledge to the people. That is the essential concept of the
Messiah that is notably somewhat bastardized by Christianity.
According to the Christian view, the Messiah is Jesus, and
Jesus is supposed to be a man-god, G-d incarnate, son of G-d,
and, as such, he is supposed to have supernatural powers.
After all, he is the master of the universe, so he can make
anything happen. Well, that's not the Jewish concept of the
Messiah, as embodied in the Hebrew "Moshiach."
Rather, the Jewish concept of the Messiah is that of a man:
not some man-god who can walk on water. I am that man; I am
the man who discovers the meaning of life and (hopefully)
communicates that knowledge to the people. Of course, I am
also to save the Jews and restore Jerusalem, and it is no
coincidence that that is precisely what I shall do. Again,
religion is metaphorical philosophy. It's not a big lie, and
its not the epitome of truth. That's why Judaism has a concept
of Moshiach. Moshiach is not a man who repeats what you
already know: that is the job of the rabbis. Rather, Moshiach
adds something to religion: indeed, he completes religion. The
Philosophy is that completion. In the Philosophy, you will
find the meaning of your life, for such knowledge is the
reason for religion, let alone Judaism.
How do I know that I am Moshiach? In other words, how do I
know that I have discovered the meaning of life? Because I
have discovered the meaning of life. There is no question
about it. If there were a question about it, then I wouldn't
be the Moshiach.
