Supreme Court OKs Police
Roadblocks For 'Crime Tips'

WASHINGTON - The Supreme Court ruled Tuesday that police may set up roadblocks to collect tips about crimes, rejecting concerns that authorities might use the checkpoints to fish for unrelated suspicious activity.

 

The 6-3 decision allows officers to block traffic and ask motorists for help in solving crimes. Critics have complained that authorities might misuse the power, disguising dragnets as ''informational checkpoints.''

 

Roadblocks are used for a variety of investigations. For example, in 2002 police used them to try to produce leads in the Elizabeth Smart kidnapping in Utah and the sniper shootings in the Washington, D.C., area.

 

But the Supreme Court has limited their use.

 

Although the justices have allowed random sobriety checkpoints to detect drunken drivers and border roadblocks to intercept illegal immigrants, they ruled in 2000 that roadblocks intended for drug searches are an unreasonable invasion of privacy under the Constitution.

 

In Tuesday's decision, Justice Stephen Breyer said that short stops, ''a very few minutes at most,'' are not too intrusive on motorists, considering the value in crime-solving. Police may hand out fliers or ask drivers to volunteer information, he said.

 

In a partial dissent, Justices John Paul Stevens, David H. Souter and Ruth Bader Ginsburg questioned whether random roadblocks yield any useful tips. The delays ''may seem relatively innocuous to some, but annoying to others ... still other drivers may find an unpublicized roadblock at midnight on a Saturday somewhat alarming,'' Stevens wrote for the three.

 

The constitutionality of the informational roadblocks was challenged by Robert Lidster, accused of drunken driving at a 1997 checkpoint set up to get tips about an unrelated fatal hit-and-run accident. The roadblock was at the same spot and time of night that the hit-and-run took place about a week earlier.

 

Authorities in Lombard, Ill., got no helpful tips that night in the death of a 70-year-old bicyclist, but they arrested Lidster after police said he nearly hit an officer with his minivan.

 

Lidster argued that police could have used other methods to get information about the hit-and-run driver, like billboards or stories in newspapers and on radio and television stations. Television coverage of the roadblock did lead to information that helped solve the case.

 

Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan said the Supreme Court's ruling ''will allow law enforcement in Illinois and across the nation to seek voluntary assistance from citizens in their efforts to solve crime.''

 

But criminal defense lawyers and civil liberties groups questioned whether the decision would lead to abuse by officers.

 

''I would hope this wouldn't be an excuse for them to engage in willy-nilly roadblocks,'' said San Antonio, Texas, attorney Gerald Goldstein, former president of National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers. ''We're taking the officers at their word that they're looking for information and not looking at the occupants.''

 

Ronald Allen, a law professor at Northwestern University, said the decision gives police ''another reason to create a roadblock and to pull people over.''

 

Breyer predicted the ruling would not lead to widespread roadblocks because of limited police funding and community hostility to traffic delays.

 

Stevens, Souter and Ginsburg agreed with the court's rationale that informational checkpoints are different from roadblocks intended to search for evidence of wrongdoing by the occupants of car. But they wanted a lower court to reconsider whether the stop outside Chicago was reasonable.

 

Stevens said motorists will be trapped by the checkpoints.

 

''In contrast to pedestrians, who are free to keep walking when they encounter police officers handing out fliers or seeking information, motorists who confront a roadblock are required to stop, and to remain stopped for as long as the officers choose to detain them,'' he wrote.

 

Illinois was supported in the case by more than 20 other states: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Delaware, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Maryland, Minnesota, Montana, Nevada, New Hampshire, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oregon, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Vermont and Virginia.

 

The case is Illinois v. Lidster, 02-1060.

The Bush Administration aims to recruit millions of United States citizens as domestic informants in a program likely to alarm civil liberties groups.

 

The Terrorism Information and Prevention System, or TIPS, means the US will have a higher percentage of citizen informants than the former East Germany through the infamous Stasi secret police. The program would use a minimum of 4 per cent of Americans to report "suspicious activity".

 

Civil liberties groups have already warned that, with the passage earlier this year of the Patriot Act, there is potential for abusive, large-scale investigations of US citizens.

 

As with the Patriot Act, TIPS is being pursued as part of the so-called war against terrorism. It is a Department of Justice project.

 

Highlighting the scope of the surveillance network, TIPS volunteers are being recruited primarily from among those whose work provides access to homes, businesses or transport systems. Letter carriers, utility employees, truck drivers and train conductors are among those named as targeted recruits.

 

A pilot program, described on the government Web site www.citizencorps.gov, is scheduled to start next month in 10 cities, with 1 million informants participating in the first stage. Assuming the program is initiated in the 10 largest US cities, that will be 1 million informants for a total population of almost 24 million, or one in 24 people.

 

Historically, informant systems have been the tools of non-democratic states. According to a 1992 report by Harvard University's Project on Justice, the accuracy of informant reports is problematic, with some informants having embellished the truth, and others suspected of having fabricated their reports.

 

Present Justice Department procedures mean that informant reports will enter databases for future reference and/or action. The information will then be broadly available within the department, related agencies and local police forces. The targeted individual will remain unaware of the existence of the report and of its contents.

 

The Patriot Act already provides for a person's home to be searched without that person being informed that a search was ever performed, or of any surveillance devices that were implanted.

 

At state and local levels the TIPS program will be co-ordinated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, which was given sweeping new powers, including internment, as part of the Reagan Administration's national security initiatives. Many key figures of the Reagan era are part of the Bush Administration.

 

The creation of a US "shadow government", operating in secret, was another Reagan national security initiative.

While all of us live in nations which do not follow the Noahide Laws, I believe
that we should be doing our best to ensure that the governments of our nations
should conform to them, that means that we should be actively opposing
individual laws passed by our nations which transgress the Noahide Laws.

One of the things that Noah was accused of by the Rabbis was that he did

Ok I will refrain from giving you a good whack! :-)

We have more than the power to inform people of the Noahide Laws, we can
get involved in attempting to have the Noahide Laws introduced into our own
societies. We can start on a local level, with the local councils etc., form
action groups, or join an already existing action group which promotes the
sort of things that the Noahide Laws demand of society.

If we are not part of the solution, we are part of the problem!

The Chevalier Ramsay used to declare: ìFreemasonry is indeed the resurrection of the Noachide religion, that of the Patriarch Noah, that religion prior to any dogma, which allows us to go beyond the differences and oppositions of the various faithsî. Andersonís Constitutions of 1738 could very well contain the seedbed of our religious faith and practice as Freemasons. While most masons officially claim that Freemasonry is NOT a religion, it is certainly religious so long as one has a proper understanding of the term and maintains a distinction between what religion is, and what religious means. Freemasonry opens its doors to men of every creed so long as they believe in a Supreme Deity, to whom all men are held accountable for the maintenance of certain basic universal laws, defined by Dr. Anderson as the moral law. In his 1738 [2nd] edition of the Constitutions he gave this moral law a name. The name applied by Anderson to this "moral law" was Noachide. (also variously spelled; Noahide, Noachite, NoachidÊ, Noachida).

The entry NoachidÊ, found in the ENCYCLOP�DIA OF FREEMASONRY¹ states the following:

"The descendants of Noah.  A term applied to Freemasons on the theory, derived from the 'legend of the craft,' that Noah was the father and founder of the Masonic system of theology.  And hence the Freemasons claim to be his descendants, because in times past they preserved the pure principles of his religion amid the corruptions of surrounding faiths. Dr. Anderson first used the word in this sense in the second edition of the Book of Constitutions: 'A Mason is obliged by his tenure to observe the moral law as a true Noachida.' But he was not the inventor of the term, for it occurs in a letter sent by the Grand Lodge of Calcutta in 1735, which letter is preserved among the Rawlinson MSS. in the Bodleian Library, Oxford. In The History of Freemasonry - Its Legendary Origins, Mackey devotes an entire chapter to the Masonic connection with the figure of Noah and so covers the topic more thoroughly. In that chapter he admits that "the story of his [Noah's] life has exercised a very important influence in the origin and the development of the principles of Speculative Masonry".  Mackey writes of references to both Noah and the system of faith attributed to him, and cites several references from early Masonic manuscripts.  According to Mackey, "In the Halliwell Poem his [Noah's] name and the flood are merely referred to as denoting an era of time in the world's history. It is only a statement that the tower of Babel was begun many years after 'Noees flod [sic]'."  In the Cooke Ms more details are furnished about Noah, but they generally follow the Biblical account.  From the time of the Dowland MS. forward, says Mackey, "the reference to Noah is exceedingly meager."

Tennessee Baptists Turn to Judaism For New Inspiration 

Christian Fundamentalists Seek Roots of Their Faith: There Goes the Steeple By R. Gustav Niebuhr Staff Reporter of The Wall Street Journal Athens, Tenn. -One sunny autumn day in 1989, the Rev. J. David Davis and about 15 of his flock took down the steeple of the Emmanuel Baptist Church an carted it off to the dump. They had decided it was a pagan fertility symbol that had no business being on a house of worship. Then they scraped the words "Baptist" and "Church" off the sign out front. Members of Emmanuel also quit celebrating Christmas and scrapped the Wednesday evening prayer service. In its stead, they had an Orthodox rabbi in to instruct them in Jewish thought. And so, right smack in the middle of the Bible belt, a group of Christian fundamentalists eager to explore the roots of their faith turned for spiritual guidance to Judaism. Prophecy Fulfilled This isn't a fluke but a movement. Calling itself B'nai No'ach (Hebrew for "Children of Noah"), it has already drawn inquiries from "nearly 500 families," says Vendyl Jones, a former Baptist preacher and amateur archaeologist in Arlington, Texas, who runs the Institute for Judaic-Christian Research, a sort of clearinghouse for the Noahides. Over the past couple of years, Mr. Jones says, informal study groups have sprung up in Minneapolis, in Kansas City and in Houston. Others are gathering overseas - in Belgium, England, even in Nigeria. "I call it Judaism for non-Jews," says Mr. Jones, who claims to see biblical prophecy (from Ezekiel) fulfilled in gentiles' turning to the "God of Israel." Emmanuel's Mr. Davis, whose 80-member congregation makes up B'nai No'ach's largest single bloc, insists that members aren't actually converting to Judaism. They aren't keeping kosher; they aren't getting ritual circumcisions or having bar mitzvahs. But they say they have found in the seven Laws of Noah (the ark-builder) the essence of religion that God intended for the gentiles. Speaking in his north Georgia twang, Mr. Davis ticks them off: injunctions against blasphemy, murder, theft, idolatry and such sexual sins as adultery and incest, along with commandments to uphold justice and not eat the flesh or blood of a living animal. Mr. Davis came to this faith gradually, after suffering doubts about the literal truth of the Bible. A friend put him in touch with Mr. Jones in Texas. Then Mr. Davis went looking for a rabbi. (He also lost nearly half his congregation, which had numbered about 140, through defections to other churches.) Michael Katz, the suburban Atlanta rabbi leads Emmanuel's members in weekly Torah study, says the relevant passages are tucked away in the recesses of the Talmud, the writings of Jewish civil and religious law. Obscure it might be, but the movement has historical precedent, according to James D. Tabor, a professor of religion at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. Ancient Hebrew writers, he says, mentioned certain gentiles called "Godfearers," who were dedicated monotheists who hung around the synagogues and followed many beliefs and practices of their Jewish neighbors. That this movement is having a second coming in rural east Tennessee makes for some interesting contrasts. A number of Emmanuel's men lean to baseball caps, pickup trucks and fishing in Watts Bar Lake. The women cook and sew; a few teach school. Members of both sexes quote the Torah. Tom Slater, a burly ex-Marine, drives a half-hour from tiny Tellico Plains to get to Emmanuel. A computer programmer, Mr. Slater says he has spent "probably $1,000" on Jewish religious texts, picking up a multi-volume set of the Five Books of Moses, a 2,000-page commentary on Genesis and a stack of cassette tapes on the cabala, an occult Jewish philosophy based on a mystical interpretation of the Scriptures. By reading and listening, he says, he is "getting a whole different look" at religion. Once upon a time, Sunday mornings at Emmanuel featured hymns and the hellfire preaching of the stocky, bearded Mr. Davis. Now the time is spent in discussion - with no music, no prayers, no sermon. Mr. Davis who wears a tiny gold Star of David around his neck, leads his flock in a conversation about Scripture, with a little Middle Eastern archaeology thrown in to give weight to certain Bible stories. Jesus, he says, was a traditional rabbi (a great prophet but no divinity). Christ's followers were a mix of Jews and B'nai No'ach gentiles, but the whole enterprise got twisted into a new religion by various popes, theologians and Roman emperors (who tacked on pagan holidays such as Christmas and Easter that the Emmanuel group no longer celebrates.) Gary Buchanan, an operations manager for a small supermarket chain, takes a front pew with his wife, Martina. He says B'nai No'ach is quite a departure from the evangelical faith he grew up with. But he sees logic in it and feels "it has brought us closer to God." Local Reaction To most people hereabouts, however, Mr. Davis's teachings - especially his flat rejection of the virgin birth and the resurrection of Jesus - are anathema. Athens, a town of 14,000, just west of the Appalachians, has 50 churches listed in the Yellow Pages. Salvation is preached from pulpits, billboards and bumper stickers - and all across the radio dial. A half-hour's drive to the south are the world-wide headquarters of three Pentecostal sects. There's a big biblical theme park just across the North Carolina line. So after the steeple came down, Mr. Davis and Emmanuel's congregation came in for some abuse, as unbelievers and worse. Thirteen-year-old Christopher Revis says a bunch of boys at school called him a devil worshipper. Local clergymen don't seem to buy all the talk of Satanism, but they are repulsed nonetheless. "I think it's a cult," says the Rev. Jack Scallions, a minister and head of a local Christian school. The Rev. Carlos Peterson, pastor of 2,000-member First Baptist Church, the biggest congregation in Athens, says he paid a call on Mr. Davis and came away convinced his teachings are "heresy." Feeling Threatened Mr. Tabor, the University of North Carolina professor, says in its defense that the little congregation must seem "very threatening" in a place like Athens where "the average person has never seen a Jew in his life." There has been dissension within Emmanuel, too, but most of those who disagreed with the trend of things up and left. Some who have stayed have had to deal with the disapproval of family and friends. that his son Gary no longer accepted the virgin birth. Paul Buchanan threatened to disinherit him. "I wouldn't want any of my money to support a church that didn't believe in Christ," he says. Jason Foliar, a 17-year-old senior at McMinn County High and an Emmanuel member, says he lost a girlfriend to religious differences. The Rev. James Palmer, a minister in Hermitage, Tenn., whose mother and brother attend Emmanuel, declares: "I've got to get my family out of that!" The Tug of Tradition Within the remaining congregation, some have found it hard to part with traditions like Christmas. Charles and Peggy McKeehan speak wistfully of the 12-foot artificial tree that they now have packed away. They haven't thrown it out, however. The McKeehans also still give presents to relatives, but they do it well before Dec. 25, by which time they are in Florida enjoying a secular vacation. Still, all the controversy hasn't kept away a few curious newcomers like Mr. Slater, the former Marine. And a satellite congregation has sprung up in tiny Cohutta, Ga. And the faithful are trying to reach out in other ways. Emmanuel recently started a newsletter and mails out tapes of its services. John Hill, a believer in Fort Worth, Texas, has started a computer bulletin board and puts out a booklet that tells how Noahides can celebrate Jewish holidays such as Hanukkah. Mr. Katz, Emmanuel's Torah teacher, says that institutionalizing such rituals is vital if adherents of B'nai No'ach are to keep their children interested and involved. But he admits he is worried about the movement's long-term survival unless it grows quickly. "The marriage pool," he says, "is extremely limited." Emmanuel: The result of this article were far reaching. Within a few weeks of the Wall Street Journal story there were hundreds of story appearing around the world in new papers. Many national and international story were told about "the church without a steeple." To our amazement the story continue even until this day. CARROLLWOOD -- It was June 2000. George Bush was campaigning for president. Rabbi Yossie Dubrowski met him during a campaign stop in Tampa, and they talked about family and religious issues.

That conversation was the start of a relationship that gave Dubrowski a direct line to the White House.

"I am not a politician, but I am a Republican," said Dubrowski, spiritual leader of the Bais Tefilah synagogue at 14908 Pennington Road. He and his wife, Sulha, live near the synagogue in the Country Place subdivision.

Dubrowski, 45, was invited to the White House on March 11. He said he and President Bush continued the conversation they had in Tampa two years ago. And they discussed world events that have occurred since then.

"We spent about 20 minutes talking about terrorism, Israel and religious issues," Dubrowski said, adding that "the subject of Iraq did not come up."

"The conversation was very frank, genuine and very, very informal."

During their conversation in Tampa in 2000, Dubrowski said Bush asked him to relay his thoughts to Karen Hughes, his director of communications. Hughes put Dubrowski in touch with another campaign worker, Joshua Bolten, who is Jewish.

"We struck a chord and became close friends," Dubrowski said.

Dubrowski said he learned Bolten is assistant to the president and deputy chief of staff for domestic policy from a Time magazine article.

"That's when I realized Joshua had a high position with an office next to the Oval Office, which he never told me due to his modesty," Dubrowski said.

Bolten gave Dubrowski a private telephone number to the White House. Once, Andrew Card, White House chief of staff, answered and "he knew of me as Josh's rabbi," Dubrowski said.

Dubrowski is Tampa director for Chabad Lubavitch, a worldwide organization that seeks to give Jews of all affiliations a better understanding of their 3,300-year-old traditions.

Jews feel mixed about Putin, Russia's new president

MOSCOW -- While Russians are viewing Vladimir Putin's ascent to power as a surprise New Year's present, Jewish observers both in Russia and the United States are decidedly more mixed.

Some share the general Russian population's enthusiasm for Putin, who became president Dec. 31 when Boris Yeltsin suddenly resigned. Others are cautiously optimistic.

Still others fear the possibility of increased anti-Semitism and a move away from democracy.

Little was known about Putin when Yeltsin nominated him to be prime minister in August.

But Putin's popularity soared in September with the start of the Chechen war, and it has skyrocketed more recently to unprecedented heights, approaching an 80 percent approval rating.

Putin, whose party came in a close second in December's parliamentary elections, is also seen as a shoo-in to win Russia's presidential elections in March.

Putin has recently cultivated an image of being friendly toward Jews.

In November, he met with leaders of the newly created Chabad Lubavitch-dominated Federation of Jewish Communities of Russia, telling them he was sympathetic to Jewish causes.

One enthusiastic supporter is Rabbi Zinovy Kogan, a leader of Reform Judaism in Russia. Kogan called Putin's rise to power "a positive development for Russian Jewry." He met with Putin last month after the prime minister returned from Norway, where he had met with Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.

Putin "spoke very warmly about Barak, saying he was the single one there to support Russia's position over fighting terrorism in Chechnya," said Kogan, who is a leader of KEROOR, the Congress of Jewish Religious Communities and Organizations of Russia.

Putin said "he was going to supervise personally the investigation of the latest synagogue bombings and some other [recent] anti-Semitic acts," Kogan said.

However, Jews on the whole don't seem as happy as other educated and professional Russians about the rise to power of this former KGB colonel. Many fear that the popularity of the Russian war against Chechen rebels could have unfortunate repercussions for other ethnic groups.

In Washington, Micah Naftalin, national director of the Union of Councils for Soviet Jews, said Putin "has risen to power on the back of a racist war which appeals to the worst xenophobic instincts of the Russians. We have to monitor him and make sure that he knows what we care about" and that pro-democracy forces and Jewish groups "hold him accountable."

Other leaders of American organizations working with Jews living in the former Soviet Union are taking a wait-and-see approach.

Putin recently "has talked about fighting the rise in anti-Semitism, and it will be important to see what type of leadership he exerts on this issue," said Mark Levin, executive director of the National Conference on Soviet Jewry.

"He has an opportunity to make his own mark in this area if he wants to," added Levin, whose group met with Putin two years ago.

Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said political instability and uncertainty are always potentially troubling for Russia's Jews, because anti-Semitism is so pervasive there.

"Whatever one thought about Yeltsin, he provided a certain sense of stability and has courageously continued to speak out against anti-Semitism," he said. Because Putin was Yeltsin's chosen successor, he hopefully "will follow in the best of the Yeltsin tradition."

Meanwhile, Yeltsin and his wife arrived in Tel Aviv Wednesday for a three-day Christmas pilgrimage to the Holy Land.

Some worry that he was created by a Jewish media tycoon, who continues to shadow Russia's new leader. Putin's victory in the parliamentary elections is seen as at least partially attributable to the support of Boris Berezovsky, whose officially state-controlled national TV channel ORT openly manipulated Russian public opinion during the campaign, constantly praising Putin and pounding Putin's rivals for the presidency.

Expressing an opinion that is shared by many in Russia's Jewish intelligentsia, Moscow university lecturer Galina Eliasberg warned: "I don't think he will put the country in order. On the contrary, I have an impression that some force behind him can overwhelm him and then the army will seize power or something like that."

Said Russia's chief rabbi, Adolph Shayevich, who is active in the Russian Jewish Congress: "Boris Yeltsin has made a brilliant move. But it is hard to say whether the appointed successor will prove his real successor, including his attitude toward Jews."

At the official New Year's Eve reception at the Kremlin, Shayevich said Putin told him he wished "happiness and prosperity" to all Jews.

But Shayevich added, "It could be only an official gesture. We'll see."

Combined with Cheney's speech that the "next attack will be worse, tens or hundreds of thousands of casualties" and Tommy Franks "next attack = martial law" and the draft bill in congress (mandatory service for all men and women 18-26) and the 40,000 troops already serving against their will and neo-con obvious dreams of global conquest...America ain't looking so good right now. What are we gonna do about it?

 

Can we afford to wait for the election this fall? what about William Safire's prediction of an October surprise attack? I think we'd better think pre-emptively and stop these guys before the next attack hits.

The powers that emerged victorious from World War I made a second war almost inevitable by the peace conditions they imposed upon Germany. That second war was later made certain, not by the intentions of Hitler but by the determination of his eternal enemies to destroy the new Germany that he had created.

 

By the Treaty of Versailles on 28 June 1919 and the Treaty of St. Germain on 20 September of the same year, the German people were thoroughly humiliated. The British Prime Minister, Lloyd George, wrote:

 

'The international bankers swept statesmen, politicians, journalists and jurists all to one side and issued their orders with the imperiousness of absolute monarchs.'

 

The old Austrian Empire was balkanised without respect to its various cultures and nationalities. East Prussia was separated from Germany by a large area ceded to Poland. The Sudeten Germans were placed under Czech control. The coal mining area of the Saar Valley was to be administered for fifteen years by the League of Nations and then a plebiscite held. The corrupt Weimar Republic was forced upon the German nation and the middle classes were robbed of their savings by corrupt finance. There were millions of unemployed and the Sparticist Jewish revolutionary leaders Karl Leibknecht and Rosa Luxembourg were stirring up red revolution.

 

ALIEN CONTROL

 

The Daily Mail reported on 10 July 1933:

 

'The German nation, moreover, was rapidly falling under the control of its alien elements. In the last days of the pre-Hitler regime there were twenty times as many Jewish government officials in Germany as had existed before the war. Israelites of international attachments were insinuating themselves into key positions in the German administrative machine.'

 

Dr. Manfred Reifer, a well known leader of the Jews of Bukovina, wrote in the Jewish magazine Czernowitzer Allegemeine Zeitung (September 1933):

 

'Whilst large sections of the German nation were struggling for the preservation of their race, we Jews filled the streets of Germany with our vociferations. We supplied the press with articles on the subject of its Christmas and Easter and administered to its religious beliefs in the manner we considered suitable. We ridiculed the highest ideals of the German nation and profaned the matters which it holds sacred.'

 

Resentment and resistance began to build up against the alien horde and in the year before Adolf Hitler came to power Bernard Lecache, President of the World Jewish League, stated:

 

'Germany is our public enemy number one. It is our object to declare war without mercy against her.'

 

The National Socialist Party of Adolf Hitler gained 17,300,000 votes in the election and gained 288 seats in the Reichstag. On 30 January 1933 Hitler was legally appointed Chancellor of the German Reich by President Von Hindenberg. On 24 March 1933 the Reichstag elected by 441 votes to 94 to give full emergency powers to the new Reich Chancellor and the corrupt Weimar Republic ceased to exist.

 

On that same day, 24 March 1933, on the front page of the London Daily Express appeared the main headlines: "Judaea declares war on Germany: Jews of all the world unite", and followed with:

 

'The Israelite people of the entire world declare economic and financial war on Germany. The appearance of the Swastika as the symbol of the new Germany revives the old war symbol of the Jews. Fourteen million Jews stand as one body to declare war on Germany. The Jewish wholesale dealer leaves his business, the banker his bank, the shopkeeper his shop, the beggar his miserable hut in order to combine forces in the holy war against Hitler's people.'

 

The German government was removing Jews from influential positions and transferring power back to the German people. This declaration of war by the Jews on Germany was repeated throughout the world. The first boycott of Jewish business concerns came after this Jewish declaration of war in April 1933.

 

TOTAL DESTRUCTION DEMANDED

 

Vladimir Jabotinsky, founder of the Irgun Zvai Leumi terrorist organisation, wrote in the January 1934 issue of Mascha Rjetach:

 

'For months now the struggle against Germany is waged by each Jewish community at each conference in all our syndicates and by each Jew all over the world. There is reason to believe that our part in this struggle has general value. We will start a spiritual and material war of all the world against Germany's ambitions to become once again a great nation, to recover lost territories and colonies. But our Jewish interests demand Germany's total destruction, collectively and individually. The German nation is a threat to us Jews.'

 

Emil Ludwig Cohen wrote in his book The New Holy Alliance, Strasburg, 1938:

 

'Even if Hitler at the last moment would want to avoid war which would destroy him he will, in spite of his wishes, be compelled to wage war.'

 

Bernard Lechache wrote in The Right to Live (December 1938):

 

'It is our task to organise the moral and cultural blockade of Germany and disperse this nation. It is up to us to start a merciless war.'

 

The Jewish newspaper Central Blad Voor Israeliten in Nederlands printed on 13 September 1939:

 

'The millions of Jews living in America, England, France, North Africa and South, not forgetting Palestine, have decided to carry on the war in Germany to the very end. It is to be a war of extermination.'

 

The Toronto Star (26 February 1940) printed a declaration of a Rabbi Perlberg, Director of the British section of the Jewish World Congress:

 

'The Jewish World Congress is in a state of war with Germany for seven years.'

 

The Jewish magazine Sentinel of Chicago printed in its issue of 8 October 1940:

 

'When the National Socialists and their friends cry or whisper that this [the war] is brought about by Jews, they are perfectly right.'

 

Hitler now put into operation the plan of getting all German areas into one state and all Germans under one German Government. The Germans in the Rhineland, the Germans in Austria and the Sudeten Germans responded willingly. In January 1935 the Saar Valley voted to return to Germany with a 90 per-cent poll in favour. There were also Germans in East Prussia and in Danzig now divided by land ceded to Poland by the Treaty of Versailles. It is interesting to note that between 1933 and 1937 10,000 Jews migrated to Hitler's Germany, 97 of them from Palestine.

 

THE MUNICH AGREEMENT

 

An agreement was signed between Germany (Hitler) and Great Britain (Neville Chamberlain) which suggested a peaceful revision of the wrongs committed by the Treaty of Versailles. A four-power conference was suggested which would preserve the peace. The four powers were Great Britain, Germany, France and Italy.

 

The paper Truth of 5 January 1952 stated that Mr. Oswald Pirow, South African Minister of Defence, was sent on a mission to Germany in 1938 by General Smuts to ease the tension on the Jewish issue. The British Prime Minister told Pirow that pressure of International Jewry was one of the principal obstacles to an Anglo-German accommodation and that it would greatly help him resist that pressure if Hitler could be induced to moderate his policy towards the German Jews. Pirow stated that Hitler viewed this idea with favour and an Anglo-German agreement was in sight; the effect would have been, in the event of war, to limit the conflict to Germany and Russia, with the other great powers intervening to enforce their own terms when the combatants were exhausted.

 

However, the Four Nations Pact was not to be. The Jews put an end to this, for on 7 November 1938, a few weeks after the Munich Agreement and shortly before the journey to Paris of the German Foreign Minister, Von Ribbentrop, the Polish Jew, Herschel Feibel Grynszpan murdered the German Third Secretary of State, Ernst von Rath, in the German Embassy in Paris. The five bullets fired were the logical result of the Jews' declaration of war on Germany of March 1933 and put an end to the effort being made to explain and extend the importance of the Munich Agreement and the revision of the Treaty of Versailles.

 

This assassination provoked anti-Jewish riots in Germany, with the burning of synagogues and the looting and burning of Jewish shops. The anti-Jewish riots inflamed public opinion in Great Britain and the USA against Chamberlain's efforts to relieve Anglo-German tension. In the United States Germans were assaulted and persecuted. The Jews began leaving Germany.

 

The Paris magazine L'Ami du Peuple wrote about them:

 

'These people fled from Germany because they attempted to set up a rule of fire and blood and to let loose the horrors of civil war and universal chaos.'

 

The American Secretary of State, James Forrestal, who later died in mysterious circumstances, wrote in his Forrestal Diaries (Cassel and Co., London 1952):

 

'Have played golf with Joe Kennedy [US Ambassador in Britain, father of President John Kennedy]. According to him, Chamberlain declared that Zionism and world Jewry have obliged England to enter the war.'

 

The Jew, Schlomo Asch, in a pep talk to French troops in the line in Le Nouvelles Litteraires (10 February 1940) wrote:

 

'This is our war and you are fighting it for us. Even if we Jews are not bodily in the trenches we are nevertheless morally with you.'

On 8 October 1942 Sentinel magazine stated unequivocally:

 

'The Second World War is being fought for the defence and fundamentals of Judaism.'

 

 

TERROR BOMBING

 

Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain had given an assurance that:

 

'The British Government would never resort to the deliberate attack on women and children and other civilians for the purpose of mere terrorism.'

 

However, his successor Winston Churchill appointed as his personal adviser the Jewish Professor Lindemann. Lindemann, later Lord Cherwell, suggested the bombing of German cities and that working class civilian areas were legitimate targets, and from then onwards the last vestiges of civilised decency in warfare were abandoned. These bombings began on 10 August 1940 with the bombing of the small open town of Freiburg on the Swiss frontier. Fifty-three civilians were killed, including twenty children playing in the park. It was reported by Mr. Taylor of the American Red Cross in the New York Times of 3 May 1940. This was before the Germans began bombing British cities. Mr. J. M. Speight, CBE, Principal Secretary to the Air Ministry, wrote in his book The Splendid Decision:

 

'Adolf Hitler only undertook the bombing of British civilian targets reluctantly after the RAF had commenced bombing German civilian targets... It gave Coventry, Birmingham, Sheffield and Southampton the right to look Kiev, Kharkov, Stalingrad and Sebastopol in the face. Our Soviet allies would have been less critical of our inactivity if they had understood what we had done... Hitler would have been willing at my time to stop the slaughter. Hitler was genuinely anxious to reach with Britain an agreement confining the action of aircraft to battle zones.'

 

VENGEANCE

 

In 1941, long before there was any assembling of Jews for the supposed extermination camps, a Jew, Theodor N. Kaufman, wrote Germany Must Perish. Kaufman set out a plan for the total destruction of the German population by a very simple method: the mass sterilisation of all German men and women between the age of puberty and sixty years. He described the construction of the organisation for doing this. This book was the basis of the Morgenthau Plan for the total destruction of German industry and the enslavement of the German race. Naturally these intentions of Germany's enemy got into the hands of the German propaganda minister Goebbels, and it stiffened the resistance of the German nation to avoid defeat. The Morgenthau Plan formed the basis of discussions between President Roosevelt and Soviet leader Stalin acting through his liaison officer, the Soviet Jew Zabrousky, and also formed the basis of the Yalta Agreement.

JABALYA, Gaza Strip (Reuters) - Israeli soldiers shot dead a 12-year-old Palestinian boy and wounded two other youths Thursday near a fence dividing the Gaza Strip and Israel, Palestinian officials said.

 

The Israeli army said troops fired at the legs of seven people inside the Gaza Strip carrying a ladder toward the fence, wounding two of them. Palestinian officials said the group was bird-hunting, a popular pastime among Gaza youths.

 

"We have reason to believe terrorist groups occasionally send minors to the Gaza boundary fence to test our response, ahead of carrying out attacks," an army spokesman said.

 

The two wounded youngsters were taken to a hospital in Israel. Palestinian medical officials said the body of Mohsen Ad-Daour, 12, was found later at the scene and that he had been shot in the face.

 

The boy's family said he had gone with a group of friends to hunt birds at a spot they had visited before.

 

"But this time, he didn't come back with new birds," Mohsen's uncle said.

 

Inside the family home in Jabalya refugee camp, the boy's mother fainted as his body was brought in for a final farewell. Dozens marched in a funeral procession to the local graveyard.

 

Israel says the electronic fence it has built on the Gaza frontier prevents suicide bombers from reaching its territory, and it enforces "no-go" areas for Palestinians near the barrier.

 

Palestinians say those who innocently stray into the no-go zones near the fence are shot at without warning.
