Mel Gibson compromises the TRUTH

Director Mel Gibson, under heavy fire from Jewish groups for his $25 million movie on the death of Jesus, has "softened the story" and made changes to make "The Passion" more palatable to critics, according to a spokesman. Scheduled for release next year during Lent, "The Passion" has some Jewish groups nervous it will resurrect old beliefs that Jews were responsible for the death of the Christian savior.

 

Paul Lauer, marketing director for Gibson's Icon Productions company, said Gibson has edited the film to show more "sympathetic" Jewish characters who were not calling for Jesus to be crucified. "We believe we have softened the story compared to the way the Gospel has told it," Lauer said in an interview. He pointed to Matthew 27:25, in which the Jewish mob calls for Jesus' blood "to be on us and on our children." "That's in the Gospel," he said. "It's not in our film." In addition, Lauer said the character of Simon of Cyrene, who was forced to carry the cross for Jesus, will be clearly labeled a Jew in the film. A shouting mob will include voices opposing the execution, Lauer said. Faced with vocal Jewish opposition, Gibson is mounting a pre-emptive public relations offensive to counter his critics -- all for a film that is still being edited. After regional screenings, Gibson has lingered with his audiences to listen to their advice.

 

In an effort to soothe concerns, Gibson is also hoping to launch "The Jewish Initiative" to recruit Jewish and Christian leaders to discuss the film's effects on Christian-Jewish relations. "We've gone out of our way to accommodate this process because we felt it was necessary and important, and to show that we care and that we're not callously sitting back saying, `Screw you, we're going to make the film we want to make,"' Lauer said.

 

Jewish groups, however, remain unconvinced. Abraham Foxman, national director of the Anti-Defamation League, said Gibson has been unwilling to preview his film for anyone but "pre-screened audiences." "The fact that Mel Gibson says this is a work in progress is something we welcome. I don't make light of it," Foxman said. "We respect his creative rights, but we also believe that creative rights come with a certain responsibility."

 

Invited Christian leaders who have seen the film offer near-universal praise. The Rev. Ted Haggard, president of the National Association of Evangelicals, told The New York Times that Gibson was "the Michelangelo of this generation."

 

Lauer agreed that screenings were for "people closer to our circle of contacts," but told the Times that "there is no way on God's green earth" that critics like Foxman will be invited to previews. Foxman and others, he said, have been "dishonorable." The ADL first raised concerns in June after a group of nine Christian and Jewish scholars reviewed a draft script and concluded the film portrayed Jews as "bloodthirsty, vengeful and money-hungry."

 

Gibson threatened to sue after he said the draft script used by the scholars was stolen. The U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops arranged for the script to be returned and apologized to Gibson.

 

Rabbis who have screened the film say it threatens to undue decades of progress between Christians and Jews after the Vatican refuted the deicide charges in the Second Vatican Council from 1962 to 1965.

 

Gibson, however, belongs to a conservative Catholic group that rejects the modern papacy and Vatican II, including its overtures to non-Catholics and Jews.

 

Rabbi A. James Rudin, senior interreligious affairs adviser for the American Jewish Committee, emerged from a Houston screening "troubled" by what he saw as the film's suggestion that Roman authorities were powerless to stop the murderous rage of Jewish leaders. "The emphasis should be more on what killed Jesus, not who killed him," said Rudin, also a columnist for Religion News Service.

 

Rabbi Yechiel Eckstein, an Orthodox rabbi who has close ties to evangelical leaders as president of the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews, also voiced concerns.

 

"I don't think he's out to get the Jewish community, or attack it, or even be insensitive, frankly," said Eckstein, who was invited to a screening but could not attend because of other commitments. "But I'm not sure if he is aware enough, or sensitive enough, to the history of what has happened because of this deicide charge."

Question: Aren't Jews, including Jews who reject Jesus as Lord, nevertheless still Abraham's seed and heirs to the promise given Abraham?

Answer: The scriptures clearly tell us that Jesus is the seed (Galatians 3:16), and all who have faith in Him are "of Abraham's seed." It is not by race but through faith that God's elect are called and chosen. God makes no distinction between races. All men, Jew and Gentile alike, are called to serve Him:

What a revelation! God pays no mind to a person's race or national origin. Faith in Jesus is what truly counts. Flesh and blood cannot enter the Kingdom of Heaven, "Ye must be born again in spirit and in truth." (John 3:3)

Get it? The false Zionist teachers are bigots who claim that only people of a certain race, Jews, are Abraham's seed and heirs to the promise. But what does God's Word say? "If ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed and heirs according to the promise."

Friends, who are you going to believe? Jewish fables of lying and deceitful men, or the inspirational, life-giving truth found in God's Word?

"Out of One Blood..."

Question: But doesn't God have a special love for Abraham's seed, that is, for people of the Jewish blood?

Answer: Here is yet another prime example of unscriptural racial bigotry. God is a loving God, no doubt about that. But what a horrible thing to accuse God of loving one set of people, one race, more than all others.

Abraham, we are told in Romans 4:3-25, was chosen of God for one reason and one reason only: He believed! Abraham was a man of faith! It wasn't Abraham's blood or race that brought him favor with God. It was his faith.

God does not choose men and women for his kingdom based on their race or blood, but by whether or not they have faith in Jesus Christ. In fact, the Bible says that everyone on earth has come from only one blood! God...

There was no room in God's great plan for Hitler's doctrine that the Aryan race is a Master Race. And there is no room in God's plan for the poisonous teachings—so prevalent today among the Judaizers and Zionists—that the Jews are a Master Race.

Who Are God's Chosen People?

Question: Isn't it true that the Jews alone are "God's Chosen" people for eternity?

Answer: Here we go again. Lies and more lies, and more racial bigotry to boot. Well, lies can only be dissipated by introducing the Truth. For that, we must again go directly to the scriptures. First, we profitably look at Paul's testimony to the Ephesians (Christians):

How fantastic! God chose us, Christians, to serve Him and be His family before the foundations of the world! We are blessed because we are God's chosen people! It has nothing to do with race, but with faith in Christ Jesus. Abraham had faith and was chosen. And today, Jews and Gentiles from every nation on earth who have faith in Christ Jesus are His Chosen People.

What a Shock the Truth Is to Many!

Now, some of you, at this moment, considering these scriptures, may be in a state of shock. This isn't at all what you have been taught by the false teachers and by the biggest names in the Christian establishment, is it? This probably isn't what your pastor teaches from the pulpit, either. But remember, most of today's pastors learned these lies, these Jewish fables, from the "theologians" at their cemeteries; oops, I mean "seminaries."

Regrettably, many sincere Christians have been lied to for so long, they have ingested the spiritual poison of Zionist deception for so very long, that they actually prefer these lies over the plain, unvarnished truth of Scripture.

Beware of Jewish Fables

Still just can't believe that God does not favor one physical race over another? Remember, the Apostle Paul duly warned us to not give "heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn the truth." (Titus 1:14)

So, regarding the subject of "Who are God's Chosen?," let us once again leave the realm of Jewish fables and move straight to the reality of God's inerrant Word. Peter, in his first epistle, wrote to the Christians "scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadaocia, Asia, and Bithynia" (I Peter 1:1). He reminded Christians that we are "born again" of incorruptible seed (yes—through faith we are Abraham's seed, as the apostle Paul also explained in Galatians 3:26-29).

Peter declared that because of our trust in Christ Jesus, Christian believers are God's chosen and are a holy nation.

Christians A Holy Nation

Wow! Christians, said Peter, born again in Christ Jesus, are His "chosen." We are God's chosen! Peter says, too, that as Christians, we are a "holy nation."

Elsewhere in scripture, Christians are identified as the "Israel of God." By authority of the Word of God, Peter says we are "a peculiar people...the people of God."

Now, the Judaizers and their Zionist cohorts claim that it is the physical nation of Israel, a Jewish theocracy inhabited by a Christ-rejecting people, that is a holy nation. They also insist that Abraham is the father only of the physical nation-state of Israel and has no relationship to any other nation.

How deceptively wrong they are! Again, God's Word puts the lie to their racist imaginings. In Genesis 17:1-4, God tells Abraham:

So Abraham is father of many nations, not just one! But that's not all. To those racist teachers who continue to stubbornly resist God by claiming that only a physical nation of Israel and the Jews have a corner on God, I suggest they listen to what Jesus said in Matthew 21 about the prophetic fate of the Jews and the of the physical nation of Israel. After first warning that "He will miserably destroy those wicked men" who reject Him as Lord (Matthew 21:33-43), Jesus flatly stated:

Read that again: Jesus declared to the Jews, who arrogantly teach even today that the people of Israel will rule over an earthly kingdom forever, that, in fact, "The kingdom of God shall be taken from you..."

Now ask yourself, have the Judaizers, the Falwells, LaHayes, and so forth ever told you of this amazing pronouncement by our Lord Jesus?

Ok, I ask you, then, who is telling the truth? Whom will you believe? Will you believe Jesus, who told the Jews He was taking the Kingdom away from them and giving it to a nation bringing forth fruits? Will you believe Peter, who says that Christians, not Jews, are God's Chosen and that Christians, not Jews, are the "people of God?" Or, will you stubbornly reject the scriptures and throw your destiny in with that of the Judaizers, who resist God's Word and who side with God's enemies?

Wall of Partition Broken Down

What is wonderful is that God, in His incomparable love, has given men and women of every race on earth an opportunity to be His children. Regrettably, the Judaizers within the Christian fold, prodded along in their misdeeds by Jewish supremacists, seek to erect a wall of partition between the races. They put the Jews on one side of this wall of partition and the Gentiles on the other. They teach segregation of the two races and claim racial and spiritual superiority for the Jews. But this is an affront to God, for He has broken down the wall of partition.

God is no respecter of persons. A Gentile who becomes a Christian is no longer a Gentile, a Jew no longer a Jew. Whosoever believeth in Him is added to God's heavenly family and is made a citizen of the commonwealth of Israel:

What a lover of all mankind is our Saviour, Jesus! Once, before they were born again, Christians were of two separate types in the flesh, "Gentiles and Jews," But no longer. The blood of Jesus has changed us through faith in Him, so that all who believe in Christ Jesus, all who are born again, are now one. We are all of the commonwealth of Israel. We are together the Israel of God, the People of God. The wall between Jews and Gentiles is broken down.

Good News for Jews and Gentiles

Yes, the wall between Jews and Gentiles is broken down. Jews and Gentiles alike who have put on Christ Jesus are among the ranks of God's Chosen, Abraham's seed, heirs to the promise:

This is good news for both Gentiles and Jews. God is a God who honors people who have faith in Christ Jesus. He is not a respecter of racial distinctions. Jews' First Allegiance is to Israel

Jerusalem is not only the capitol of the nation-state of Israel. The very name of this city is a codeword, which stands for the pervasive influence of latter day Jewish culture and religion throughout the world.

Indeed, there are more Jews living today in New York City than reside in Jerusalem proper. And in the state of Florida, a haven for rich Jews, there are found more Jews than in all of Israel.

In almost every major city of the planet, there is found a community of rich and influential Jews who control local media, commerce, and banking, and whose first allegiance is not to the country in which they reside, but to Israel and to Jerusalem.

In the U.S.A., for example, our banking system is run by a Jew, Fed Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan. Our nation's two most prominent newspapers, The Washington Post and The New York Times, are owned by Jews and operated on behalf of Jerusalem and global Jewish culture. Our TV networks also are owned and run by Jews, and their propaganda consistently represents the sole viewpoint of Jerusalem and Israel. These TV networks incessantly spew out pro-Israel sentiment and promote Jewish culture to unwitting Americans.

In America, Jews founded and still run liberal, Christ-hating, agitation groups like the ACLU, ADL, AIPAC, PAW, Southern Poverty Law Center, and the American Jewish Congress.

Oh, did I mention Hollywood? You know, that village culturally akin to Sodom and Gomorrah out in California, which endlessly churns out filth and corruption. Yes, it, too, is owned by Jews and is operated as a propaganda front for Zionist forces in Jerusalem.

No wonder the Apostle Paul said that Jerusalem (the earthly, not the heavenly, city of Jerusalem) and its people are in bondage to Satan (Galatians 4:25).

Grotesque Discoveries

1. Israel tops the world in school violence. (Reference: Israel National Council for the Child, The Jerusalem Report, January 28, 2002)
2. After a Jewish madman, Baruch Goldstein, stormed a peaceful Islamic mosque and massacred 29 Palestinians worshipping there, Jewish rabbis praised his crime and called Goldstein "blessed." (The Jerusalem Report, January 28, 2002)
3. Israel and many Jews are racists and are hateful of people of other races, which they consider little more than "goyim" (cattle). Israel Shamir, an Israeli citizen who fought in the Yom Kippur War of 1973 against the Arabs, sadly admits that Israel is infected with the "evil idea of Jewish supremacy." Shamir, a decent man fed up with so many bigots in his own country, calls Israel, "a Ku Klux Klan state run by madmen." (Speech, Emory University, 2001. Also, essay, Kid Sister, by Shamir).
4. Most Jews in Israel despise Jesus Christ and have utter contempt for Christians. Rami Rozen, in Israel's top daily newspaper, Ha'aretz, recently wrote: "Jews feel toward Jesus...hatred and spite. For centuries, Jews concealed from Christians their hatred of Jesus, and this tradition continues."
5. A headline in Battle Cry, a Christian publication, read: "Christians in Israel Face Firebombs and Prison for Soulwinning." After being threatened by Israeli authorities, most Christian groups in Israel have promised not to proselytize or convert Jews to the Christian faith.
6. Many Jews in Israel and America especially hate Palestinians, and most have little or no pity for the plight of the poverty-stricken people whom they, in their luxury and riches, have uprooted. "One million Arabs are not worth a Jewish fingernail," Rabbi Yaacov Perrin was quoted as saying in The New York Times (February 28, 1994, page 1). In The Jerusalem Post (February 2, 2001), it was reported that Israeli settler Nahum Korman was convicted of killing an 11-year old Palestinian boy. His punishment: six months of community service.
7. In 1998 an Israeli retired General exposed that Israel had, in its 1973 war with Egypt, herded thousands of surrendered Egyptian POWs into the desert with their hands tied behind their back, slaughtered them with machine guns, then bulldozed them all into a huge bloody pit. Confronted with the evidence, then Prime Minister Rabin dismissed it all as "past history." (Yeah, well, that's not what the Jews say about Nazi atrocities that occurred a quarter of a century before these Israeli atrocities.)

   The late Prime Minister Yitzak Rabin covered up evidence of the Israeli slaughter in 1973 of thousands of Egyptian POWs who were secretly buried in mass graves dug by Israeli Army bulldozers in the desert. At Nuremberg, Germans were hung for far less.

8. Pedophilia among Jewish rabbis and Jewish homosexuals is rampant. For example, one of Jerusalem's best known clergymen, Rabbi Ze'eu Kopelovich, pled guilty to sexually molesting 19 male students (The Jerusalem Report, November 18, 1999).

   Jewish vice extends beyond Israel and across the globe. The Fayetteville Observer (North Carolina) carried this picture of a same-sex "marriage."

9. So racially prejudiced are the Jews that, until they were caught, most of Israel's blood banks systematically dumped blood donated by people outside their own race. In 1996 it came to light that the blood of black Ethiopians living in Israel was trashed (The Jerusalem Report, February 22, 1996).

Gambling has been called "The Jewish Vice" by The Jerusalem Report, and the Las Vegas' gambling casino industry was founded by Jewish gangsters. Jewish kingpins also run major child slavery rings, and Israeli police complain that Jewish pimps are about to overrun the Israeli cities of Tel Aviv and Jerusalem.

The Israeli Mossad spy agency is brutal and ruthless and is responsible for so many assassinations and murders the Russian KGB and Yassir Arafat's PLO must be blushing with envy.

Wicked Jerusalem Exalted by America's Leaders

Seeing how wholly evil is the earthly city of Jerusalem today, we must ask ourselves why the majority of the Christian leadership continues to call Jerusalem the "Holy City." Why is decadent, modern-day Israel exalted and made into an icon of righteousness by Jerry Falwell, James Dobson, Pat Robertson, and others?

Why, indeed, do these famous-name Christian clergy, and especially our politicians, kiss up to and bow down to the Jewish rich and powerful? Do they fear the Jews?...or do they do so for financial advantage?

Do they not study God's Word? Do they not believe the Lord's endtime prophecy and warning about the evil, treachery, and cruelty of those who comprise the "Synagogue of Satan?" (Revelation 2:9 and 3:9)

Have they not read in Revelation 18 of the judgement and pitiful destiny of that great city, Mystery Babylon, with which the kings of the earth have committed fornication? Sadly, the scriptures testify that this city, as just due for her whoredom and vice over the ages, is burned and destroyed, and "in one hour is she made desolate" (Verse 19).

"Come Out of Her"

The Bible's admonition is that God's people "come out of her." Jerusalem is spiritually "Sodom and Egypt." Yet, the Falwells, the Dobsons, the Robertsons, the Clintons and the Bushes wallow in the vomit with Jerusalem, disregard her sin and treachery, and exalt her to the stars. She is their idol.

In so doing, they stand in danger of joining her in her final throes of agony and despair. May God have mercy upon them, and may God quickly bring out of the wicked beast system that small remnant of Jews whom He, by His grace, has faithfully promised to save. AMEN

Most of the conditions have come true, but Moshiach has not come yet. The catastrophes have occured, and the signs looked hopeful. But then they faded again. It is clear that our level of teshuva has not been sufficiently high.

The most promising sign of geulah (EXOD-US) today is, in my opinion, the baal teshuvah movement. That is osmehing quite new. When I was yong, there was only one notable baal teshuvah. He was Dr. Nathan Birnbaum, the former friend of Herzl, who coined the term "Zionism". First he was a Socialist and Bundist, then a Zionist, and finally he broke with his former associates and wrote books about teshuvah in German. In my yeshiva, there was only one baal teshuva, who also died al kiddush Hashem. Nowadays, though, there are thousands of men and women who have forsaken their previous lifestyles and adopted Torah ideals. Huge Car Bomb Blast Hits U.N. HQ in Iraq

BAGHDAD, Iraq - A car bomb exploded in front of the hotel housing the U.N. headquarters on Tuesday, collapsing the front of the building, the U.S. military said. At least nine people were wounded, including the top U.N. official in Iraq, Sergio Vieira de Mello.

A U.N. driver said he saw Iraqis and foreigners injured in the wreckage. An Associated Press reporter said he could see nine people being carried out of the hotel on stretchers.

Sgt. Amy Abbott said the 4:30 p.m. blast was caused by a car bomb. She said military ambulances and security forces were at the scene. She said she did not yet have casualty figures and did not know if anyone had been killed.

Nazar Hababa, the U.N. driver, was covered in blood as he recounted seeing victims in the rubble.

"At 4:30 p.m. we heard a big explosion. It was caused by a rocket, said Adnan Al-Jabouri, a second U.N. driver at the hotel.

The force of the blast, which knocked out windows up to a mile away from the scene, destroyed several cars, including one that was on fire.

The U.N. spokesman in Baghdad, Salim Lone, informed U.N. headquarters in New York that a number of people were hurt in the explosion, but no one was killed as far as he knew.

He said the explosion destroyed a significant part of the building, U.N. spokesman Fred Eckhard said in New York.

Dozens of U.S. Humvees were at the scene and at least two Black Hawk helicopters hovered above. Black smoke rose hundreds of feet into the air.

United Nations weapons inspectors worked out of the hotel during the period before the war.

"My house shook like it did during the bombing at the start of the war," a resident in the area around the hotel said.

The United Nations distributes humanitarian aid and is developing programs aimed at boosting Iraq's emerging free press, justice system and monitoring of human rights.

The United States failed to win the backing of the U.N. Security Council before it invaded Iraq on March 20, and since major fighting ended in April, the United States has been reluctant to let the United Nations play a large role in rebuilding the country.

Saudis in Iraq 'preparing for a holy war'

Increasing numbers of Saudi Arabian Islamists are crossing the border into Iraq in preparation for a jihad, or holy war, against US and UK forces, security and Islamist sources have warned.

A senior western counter-terrorism official on Monday said the presence of foreign fighters in Iraq was "extremely worrying".

A statement purportedly from al-Qaeda was broadcast on Monday by the Arab satellite television channel al-Arabiya. It claimed the al-Qaeda leader Osama bin Laden and the leader of the Afghanistan's ousted Taliban regime Mullah Mohammed Omar were still alive. But it also asserted that recent attacks on US forces in Iraq were the work of jihadis.

The focus of concern for US counter-terrorist officials was at first on a reconstituted Ansar al-Islam, the al-Qaeda-linked terrorist group based in northern Iraq before the war. But US officials have recently acknowledged the presence of other foreign fighters in Iraq.

Paul Bremer, the US administrator in Iraq, said recent raids, including one near al-Qaim last month, uncovered fighters "carrying travel documents from a variety of countries".

According to Saad al-Faguih, a UK-based Saudi dissident, the Saudi authorities are concerned that up to 3,000 Saudi men have gone "missing" in the kingdom in two months, although it is not clear how many have crossed into Iraq.

Saudis who have gone to Iraq have established links with sympathetic Iraqis in the northern area between Baghdad, Mosul and Tikrit, where they have hidden in safe-houses, a Saudi Islamist source said on Monday.

Pressure on Islamists in Saudi Arabia has grown since the bombing of an expatriate residential compound in May killed 35 people. The subsequent arrest of many Islamists has forced some underground while others are trying to flee to Iraq.

"Part of this movement of people has been individual, but it is getting more organised now," Saad al-Faguih said, adding that the loose organisation of Saudi Islamists did not have a clear link to al-Qaeda. "Al-Qaeda is there and not there. But its umbrella is huge, which is what has given it its ability to survive," he said.

A senior UK official said there was evidence of extremists from several countries focusing on Iraq, though it was unclear what role al-Qaeda played.

"I don't know whether you can talk about an al-Qaeda strategy in Iraq, though there is great evidence of al-Qaeda involvement in the jihadi cause inside Iraq. But there's as much talk about other people doing things inside Iraq," the official said.

Experts: Using Israeli technology for homeland security shortens the development process dramatically

According to former prime minister Ehud Barak, the fight against terror "is not a sprint, it's a marathon, a struggle for the next five or 10 years."

Israel is truly a pioneer in homeland security technology, with more know-how to export than any other country in the world, according to Brig. Gen (Res) Shmuel Yachin, the former head of military R&D, speaking at the annual Israel Venture Association conference in Tel Aviv last week.

"We are in a very good position to take a leading role in this market," Yachin told delegates at a seminar on Homeland Security Technologies. "Thanks to our neighbors there is no other country globally that has as much knowledge and understanding of dealing with terrorism on a day to day basis."

Yachin, who was involved in program management of Israel's Arrow missile defense system during his 20-year stint in the army, said he believes that Israel's real strength lies in its ability to take any type of technology, even technology that has been around for years, and transform it with new ideas into cutting edge military systems.

"We have a major advantage in this, even compared to the US which has an edge over us in terms of skills," said Yachin.

The homeland security sector has grown rapidly since September 11, 2001. In 2000, the US government's budget for homeland security was small. In 2002, it rose exponentially to $35 billion, and in 2003 it is expected to almost double to $65 billion. According to research firm, Lehman Brothers, the value of companies in this sector has gone up by 100 percent since September 10, the day before the Al-Qaeda attacks on the US, while companies in other sectors have seen growth fall by 30%.

"9/11 was a wake up call," Ehud Barak, the former prime minister of Israel told delegates at the two-day conference. "Let's hope it did not come too late for the Americans. If an organization is willing to take a civilian aircraft and turn it into a cruise missile, they will not be hesitant about killing 30,000 or 100,000 people, or in dispersing small pox or anthrax in leading countries of the West, (The Threat, why Bushka cries) or even in using simpler types of nuclear weapons which they can acquire or steal. Companies include NetLine, which has developed a technology that jams cellular-phones, preventing them from being used to detonate explosives; Nice Systems, which specialises in video surveillance for airports and other public places; perimeter security company, Magal Security Systems; On Track Innovations, which has developed a contactless smart card technology; gene therapy company Intelligene which is involved with the US government in developing early diagnosis of biological warfare agents; InfoSys, IQS, Dmatek, Configate, SentryCom, ExaNet - the list goes on and on.

"Israel has great experience in this field and is well known for this," said Barak, who was also the country's former chief of staff. "We have an advantage over America because we have been exposed to terrorism and home security problems. We have many assets that are already quite mature, we have talented and experienced engineers, and we have the right experience. Using Israeli technology shortens the development process dramatically."

"Terrorism uses low-tech because it is hard for terrorists to acquire anything else," added Maj. Gen. (Res) Prof. Isaac Ben-Israel, former director of R&D directorate at the Ministry of Defense. "But this doesn't mean you react using low-tech means as well. The IDF relies heavily on intelligence. Here in Israel we have realized that our relative advantage in frustrating terrorist attempts is carried out mainly through technology. Our success rate is very high."

"Industry does not have the time or money to develop these systems," he said. "If we want to be as good in the high end high-tech era, then we must ensure that research continues in the academic world." He also said that it is vital enough funding is given to help this research reach the commercialization stage, and urged Israel's largest defense industries to act as intermediaries for emerging start-ups in this field.

Yachin also noted that there is great technology now being developed in Israel that can be transformed into military technologies. "Many companies don't even understand what they have in their hands or how their technology can be spun into military products," he said.

He urged the Israeli government to invest NIS1 million a year on helping start-up companies develop technology in this new and growing sector. "We need a national policy that encourages them," he said. "They need investment and more investment. There is a big potential for export in this area for Israel."

Jonathan is the hardest one to teach right now. Yes, Kindergarten is the hardest subject in my opinion. Think about it -- YOU have to teach your child how to read AND write AND color AND cut AND paste, etc, etc, etc. This is not as easy as it seems. For instance, what if he is a lefty and you are a righty? Or vice versa. Joshua and Joel are lefties and they were the hardest to teach how to write. What I finally ended up doing was sitting across from them and having them "mirror" everything I did. Jonathan is a righty but thinks that writing is the most awful thing in the world to do. All he wants to do is color, play games, play with his sisters, etc. Every time I sit down with the boys to do school, he always wants to join. But after 15 minutes, he is done. So I let him go for a while and bring him back later. That works for him and me and keeps us both calm.

Now the problem with choosing a curriculum. Since we are now living a Jewish lifestyle (we are what you would consider Noachides -- righteous gentiles) after years of xtianity, it is very difficult to find a G-dly curriculum that does not reflect xtianity. I have had to resort to public school type subjects for some (the safe ones like English and Math) and go with xtian ones for the others, omitting all the NT junk. That has been harder for me because I have to almost "censor" everything. It was hard enough to explain to the children why we aren't xtians anymore. I mean I homeschool to spare them from learning what they would in public school, now I feel like I have to use their same materials to educate my children. Oh well, until some nice Jewish homeschooling mom makes up a Jewish oriented curriculum, I am stuck!
