Intelligence about terrorism is inherently murky, and the Pentagon's second-ranking official says the United States must be prepared to act on less-than-perfect information in a world where terror is the main threat.

 

"If you wait until the terrorism picture is clear, you're going to wait until after something terrible has happened," Deputy Defense Secretary Paul Wolfowitz said Sunday on NBC's "Meet the Press."

 

"And we went to war, and I believe we are still fighting terrorists and terrorist supporters in Iraq, in a battle that will make this country safer in the future from terrorism."

 

"Iraq now is the central battle in the war on terrorism," he said on "Fox News Sunday."

 

In appearances on most of the Sunday talk shows, Wolfowitz similarly linked the U.S.-led invasion and its aftermath with President Bush's war on terror. At the same time, on all the shows, he emphasized that intelligence dealing with terrorists is intrinsically "murky."

 

On CBS' "Face the Nation," Sen. Carl Levin, D-Mich., ranking Democrat on the Armed Services Committee, said he was struck by Wolfowitz's use of the word.

 

"Boy, it sure didn't sound murky before the war," Levin said. "There were clear connections, we were told, between al-Qaida and Iraq. There was no murkiness, no nuance, no uncertainty about it at all. ... That's the way it was presented to the American people."

 

The Iraq operation was presented as an example of the Bush policy of pre-emptive attack based on intelligence that showed a threat to U.S. security.

 

Wolfowitz did not specifically say the Iraqi campaign was the result of murky intelligence. But he said the congressional investigation report released last week blamed the administration for not discerning, from tidbits of evidence, the terrorist threat that was borne out on Sept. 11, 2001. Critics are trying to have it both ways, he said.

 

"I believe we are still fighting terrorists and terrorist supporters in Iraq, in a battle that will make this country safer in the future from terrorism," he said on NBC's "Meet the Press."

 

Wolfowitz said he was unsure whether the recent upsurge in American combat deaths represented a trend or merely a spike triggered by the killing last week of two sons of deposed President Saddam Hussein.

 

There were 13 deaths in the seven days ending Saturday, in what was one of the bloodiest weeks of the war. Another soldier died Sunday.

 

"The sacrifices that our troops are making are spectacular. It's difficult conditions, it's dangerous conditions, and it takes a lot of ingenuity to figure out how to do some of these civil military things they're doing," Wolfowitz told Fox.

 

"But it is a sacrifice that is going to make our children and our grandchildren safer, because the battle to win the peace in Iraq now is the central battle in the war on terrorism, and what these troops are doing -- and they understand the mission -- is something that's going to make our country safer."

 

He said he does not expect the renewed violence to erode Americans' support of the war effort.

 

"The reports of deaths are terrible. Any American death is a terrible thing," Wolfowitz said. "But I think the American public understand that when you're fighting a war against terrorists, when you're fighting for the security of this country, that sacrifice is something that you'd have to expect."

 

Wolfowitz, who just returned from Iraq, said it appears the deaths of Odai and Qusai Hussein last Monday had led to better cooperation from Iraqis in providing intelligence to U.S. personnel.

 

"What has definitely also taken place, though, is a real increase in the amount of information that we're getting from Iraqis," he said. "This is a war that's going to be won not by smothering the country with individual guard posts; it's going to be won by better and better intelligence, and intelligence was improving even before Monday, and I think it's improved since then."

 

While he insisted the occupation was going well, Wolfowitz said "I don't want to paint a rosy picture; there are real problems. The security problem is real, and the security problem is making it difficult to solve other problems like getting the power and electricity restored."

Five US soldiers were killed over the weekend in a spate of attacks by Iraqi militants, as a new study warned that the US may soon find itself in the midst of "a third Gulf war against the Iraqi people".

 

On Saturday, three soldiers were killed in a grenade attack while guarding a children's hospital in the city of Baquba and a fourth was killed in an attack on a convoy west of Baghdad. On Sunday, the fifth was killed by a grenade attack south of Baghdad near the city of Hilla.

 

Forty-nine coalition troops have been killed by militants in Iraq since the beginning of May, and attacks average 10 to 20 a day throughout the country. General John Abizaid, the new commander of Centcom, on July 16 became the first senior US official to acknowledge that what the coalition faces in Iraq is a "classical guerrilla campaign".

 

A study on guerrilla warfare in Iraq by the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), a Washington think-tank, blames bad planning by the US administration and the low priority given to "conflict termination" and nation-building strategies by the Pentagon.

 

CSIS military specialist Anthony Cordesman says the US has not learned the lessons of past conflicts, that "even the best military victories cannot win the peace".

 

He writes: "Unless this situation changes soon, and radically, the United States may end up fighting a third Gulf war against the Iraqi people . . . It is far from clear that the United States can win this kind of asymmetric war."

 

The study is likely to be a further blow to the US administration, already facing mounting criticism for chaotic reconstruction efforts in the country.

 

Mr Cordesman offers a grim assessment of the future of the Iraqi conflict: "The most likely case still seems to be a mixed and poorly co-ordinated US nation-building effort that does just enough to put Iraq on a better political and economic path, but does so in a climate of constant low-level security threats and serious Iraqi ethnic and sectarian tensions."

 

The Pentagon's policymakers saw the Clinton administration's focus on nation-building as a waste of resources, the report says.

 

US policymakers say the Iraq war ended too suddenly for an effective postwar strategy to be launched. Mr Cordesman credits the coalition with avoiding many of the worst-case postwar scenarios, such as massive refugee crisis and wholesale destruction of energy infrastructure.

 

But Mr Cordesman offers a detailed critique of the planning and analysis that went into the war - 26 "avoidable problems" ranging from failure to introduce a police force to assuming that toppling Saddam Hussein would have won "hearts and minds". In confused and angry scenes in the Shia holy city of Kerbala on Sunday US troops opened fire as Iraqis protested over marines killing a man the day before, Reuters reportsfrom Kerbala.

 

An officer said his men returned fire in self-defence but did not know if anyone was hit. He said the man shot dead on Saturday was carrying a weapon.

 

Doctors showed Reuters the body of a second man they said was shot dead on Sunday.

There, that's earned me a lot of enemies very quickly, hasn't it?

 

"How dare you," comes the riposte from the neo-cons in the administration and the right wing think tanks like JINSA and the PNAC, as well as the "Fox news compliant" brigade whose heads are still stuck up their backsides enjoying the televised view. "America is a democracy, a free country run by a democratically elected government. It is the land of the free, the home of the brave and the protector of the free world," I hear them chorus.

 

To that I say: BULLS&%$T.

 

To say America is a democracy these days is just stretching things too far. Consider:- Bush was not elected by the majority of people in the USA. Admittedly the turnout was low (you do, after all, get the government you deserve if you don't excercise your franchise) but George W didn't get a mandate. To do that more than fifty percent of the voters have to vote for you, and that didn't happen. In fact Georgie boy lost. However, good old George made sure that, mandate or not, win or not, with a little help from friends and family in Florida he could win it by cheating. Let's not mince words, George W Bush STOLE the presidency of the United States. He is not the democratically elected leader of America. It also appears that some unelected officials in the Bush administration may have acquired more power than the president himself. Perle, Wolfowitz, Feith, Bolton, Abrams, Rumsfeld all share the same right wing neo-conservative views held by organisations such as the Project for a New American Century, the Zionizt Organisation of America and the the Jewish Institute for National Security Affairs. As members of these organisations, it could be said that this unelected cabal of neo-cons in the White House and the Pentagon have interests other than America at heart. This is not only undemocratic, it is treason.

 

So, we now see that America is governed by a president who was not democratically elected, supported by an unelected cabal of people with very extreme and in some cases, very un-American views. This cannot, therefore, classify America as a democratic country. A country that is governed by a non elected power is, as we have seen and heard these last few months concerning Iraq, Iran and North Korea, classed as a "dictatorship". Dictatorships are fascist by nature. Fascism is described as "right wing dictatorship". Just put the word fascism into your computer, highlight it and hit "Tools" followed by "Thesaurus." See what I mean?

 

Now let's take a quick look at Germany in the 1930's and 40's as the Nazis reared their ugly heads. Here was a country that was finacially crippled with a massive budget deficit owing billions of dollars to the rest of the world. Just like the USA.

 

In the 1930's Germany was a country where the burning of the Reichstag, engineered by Hitler and his henchmen, was used to create external enemies and to exert internal control over the German people. Hitler then used the media to lie, frighten and decieve the population, allowing a bunch of vicious, extreme, right wing megalomaniacs to gain power. Just like the USA.

 

In the 1930's Hitler was surrounded by a group of unelected officials whose sole objective was to take control of Germany for their own ends and with the use of their military might, take control of the assets and prosperity of other, weaker countries. Just like the USA.

 

In 1939 Hitler embarked on a series of pre-emptive attacks on sovereign nations in the name of "freeing the people" of that country. Just like the USA.

 

In 1940 the German hierarchy started building special "camps" or detention centres in which to incarcerate and eventually execute those people considered to be "against" their regime. Just like the USA.

 

As Germany invaded the countries surrounding them during World War II, they found that far from having conquered the country and "liberated" the people, the people of that country formed nationalist "resistance" groups and used guerilla warfare to kill, harrass and slowly demoralise the occupying army. Just like the USA.

 

"History is little more than the register of crimes, follies, and misfortunes of mankind" wrote Edward Gibbon, the British historian in The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire. History should teach us a great many things, but unfortunately the majority of Americans know very little about history, or for that matter, the rest of the world. Don't believe me? Ask an American where Admiral Lord Nelson, one of the worlds greatest naval commanders, died or what nationality Alexander the Great was? Better still, ask an American to point to pretty much any foreign country on a map. Try North Korea.

 

If you know nothing of history, you cannot learn the lessons history teaches. You continue to make the same mistakes. Hitler's mistake was to wage war on too many fronts at once and underestimate the ferocity of the guerilla wars being fought against him by resistance groups all over Europe. Eventually it was Russia, or to be more precise, the Russian winter and Hitler's hubris, that proved to much for the disillusioned German troops, sick and tired of fighting and dying for a regime that they belatedly realised was illegitimate.

 

Hitler, in the last desperate act of a cowardly tyrant, committed suicide. Germany, defeated and destroyed, had lost everything. Those who had been instrumental in Germany's war and propoganda machine where tried and executed. Eventually Germany once agaain became a democracy, but it had taken the deaths of many millions of people to restore that democracy.

 

Despite Germany's huge arsenal of weapons, it had lost the war because those running Germany were not the democratic leaders of a democratic country, but were fascist, right wing neo-conservatives, Nazis, who propogated an illegal war through lies and deception and stirred up the anger of all decent thinking people on the planet with their evil deeds.

 

Just like America.

A new report by international donors, which includes the United Nations, has found that a separation barrier Israel is building in the West Bank could cut off 12,000 Palestinians from their land, work and essential social services.

Israel began building the wall in 2002 in the context of continuing violence and terror attacks on its civilians. International donors to the Palestinians commissioned the report because of concern that it could harm Palestinian livelihoods and the viability of local economies, and might negatively affect the delivery of humanitarian aid and damage assistance projects.

The report recommends that donors should closely monitor the continuing construction, its impact and its implications for the Palestinian population, and that donors should provide assistance to affected communities and households.

The report was researched and written by a team of experts under the direction of the Local Aid Coordination Committee’s (LACC) Humanitarian and Emergency Policy Group, which includes the European Union, Norway, the United States, the UN Special Coordinator for the Middle East Peace Process, and the World Bank.

The report finds that in some places the wall is located as much as six kilometres inside the West Bank. When completed, as many as approximately 12,000 Palestinians could be left on the western, Israel-facing side of the wall, cut-off from their land, workplaces and essential social services.

To obtain land on which the wall is being constructed in the West Bank, Israel is requisitioning private property pursuant to military orders. Every landowner appeal to an Israeli military committee, and beyond that to the Israeli High Court, has been rejected.

In addition, the Government of Israel states that the construction of the wall is a temporary measure but its extent, nature and cost and, in particular its location inside the West Bank and east of the Green Line suggest to Palestinians that the project has more permanent implications.

The report notes that the 1995 Interim Agreement between the two sides states that neither party “will change the status of the West Bank and the Gaza Strip pending the outcome of the permanent status negotiations” and that “the integrity and status” of the West Bank and Gaza Strip “will be preserved during the interim period.” It adds that Israel argues that the wall is a temporary measure and therefore compatible with the Agreement.

Sharon Says Israel Will Keep
Building Security Barrier

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon Tuesday told President Bush Israel would press ahead with a West Bank security fence the U.S. leader has called a problem for Middle East peace.

 

"The security fence will continue to be built with every effort to minimize the infringement on the daily life of the Palestinian population," Sharon told a joint news conference after meeting Bush.

 

Bush, calling on Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas to dismantle militant groups as mandated by a U.S.-backed peace plan, said he hoped that in the long-run the success of peacemaking would make such a barrier unnecessary.

 

Sharon said he explained to Bush "the importance of the fence as an element that will bring security" to Israel and subsequently help build peace.

 

Palestinians have condemned the project as a land grab aimed at predetermining the borders of a state they hope to establish.

 

Israel has said the barrier -- a concrete wall in some places and an electronic wire fence in others -- is necessary to stop Palestinian suicide bombers reaching its cities.

 

Bush said he and Sharon would continue to discuss the "sensitive issue."

 

 Note the Word says nothing of building a false Temple.

Sometimes when we're traveling, we get so engrossed in our own conversations we fail to see significant things. We speed by these emotional landmarks without noticing them. It may be the very thing we've been looking for all our lives, but we miss it for a distracting remark that happens to turn our heads in the wrong direction at that very moment.

 

Think of what constitutes the point of no return. The days that follow ignorant and unwise decisions are always filled with grief and remorse. Sometimes, in the distance between the moment where we passed it and the spot where we realize we've passed it, the epiphany dawns on us " there is no turning back, despite all our fondest wishing and hoping, despite all our teary promises to do better next time. Real life has no reset button. Then comes that hollow time, with its aluminized applause of silence, when understanding crashes in on us. Some mistakes, like the death of your mother or your son, simply cannot be corrected. Sometimes, in this life, there is simply no going back.

 

So it is with the American dream, lying crushed in the bleeding dust of official lies presented as eternal truths by neatly dressed young people trying in vain to speak English correctly in front of mobile television cameras, saying things like "the American people support what has been done in Iraq" and trying to show their spontaneous sincerity as the scripted words slither from their painted lips.

 

America has been twisted from an example of hope for the world into an armed robber intent on fleecing everyone it meets. Just recently, America has changed the world from a place of hope to a place of fear.

 

We pass by these significant events as the newsreel of our memories unfolds before us. We show appropriate horror at the mangled bodies of people we never knew, then go on about our business " to the mall for those birthday presents meant for people we hardly know, to work on time to meet the daily shift quota, or to our homes to retreat from the daily assault of debilitating images that assail us by using whatever substance pleases us at the moment. So many events we try to pass by and forget. Some can't, but most do.

 

In the days following these events, we try to rationalize that some mistakes can be corrected: we can go to court and demand a recount for an election that has been so obviously stolen; we can catch the perpetrators of a stunningly horrific crime and try them in a court of law in accordance with the finest traditions of democratic justice; we can appeal to the better natures of elected officials who pass laws without even reading what's on the paper; we can take to the streets to protest decisions to drop nuclear weapons on peasants far away; or we can point out to anyone who'll listen that our leaders are lying about everything they say.

 

But in the days after that, we learn to our shocked dismay that the courts are closed to people without flashy pedigrees, that elected officials seem not to want to catch the villains who perpetrated a shocking mass murder, that legislators only really listen to representatives of large companies who can fund their vacation homes, that large protests are really great social events that accomplish nothing, and that precious few people really care whether our leaders are lying or not, as long as we have our homes, our paychecks, and our cold beer and warm beds.

 

Most fail to perceive that if you fail to adequately protect what you have now, chances are good that you won't have it for very long. I'm talking about the future here, although you probably didn't realize it.

 

Listen, can you remember that sound you heard when you passed the point of no return. No, of course not. You were busy. Talking about something else.

 

Since the turning of the millennium, we have passed by four events that have changed the consciousness of our nation and the world forever and irrevocably.

 

1. The stolen election of the year 2000, in which the surreptitious denial of voting rights to tens of thousands of people of color and manipulation of computerized voting systems turned the vote count in favor of fascism, turned America into a police state. Few then were prescient enough to have predicted democracy would soon die, but it has.

 

Now there's no going back. The deed is done. The Constitution is nullified. Habeas corpus is gone for the first time in 800 years. The police can come into your home at any time for any reason. People can be executed without legitimate trials. All as a result of a fixed vote. We should have seen it coming. But we were talking, and the moment passed by. Now, no amount of second-guessing can turn back the clock. Just look at the political opposition, acting as if nothing really serious has happened, that they can fix the difficulties with a few pieces of legislation. And still America slumbers.

 

But there is no going back. Democracy died when a bill was passed by those who didn't even read it. The new American way. Goosestepping in silence. And all across the political spectrum, the phony functionaries who grovel for our votes (and who will ignore us when they have them) act as if this shameful occurrence was normal. Perhaps it IS normal in a society of treasonous pigs with no scruples, which is apparently what America has become. Just a gaggle of dishonest accountants who don't really care where the numbers come from.

 

2. The mass murder of many thousands of people in New York City, Washington, D.C., and western Pennsylvania was blamed on Arab terrorists minutes after it happened, yet all the top officials insisted during those tear-stained days that they had no premonition such a monstrous event could even happen.

 

Do you understand how those two thoughts do not and cannot co-exist in the same logical space? And if they don't, and you do understand, you also understand that your entire sociopolitical paradigm was shattered that day, because you know 9/11 was the handiwork of the rich manipulators who run our society, a hard-hearted ruse with which to plunder Arab treasures to the robotic applause of the drugged-out and brain-dead American populace.

 

3. America dropped radioactive bunker buster bombs on defenseless peasants in Afghanistan, leaving them to twitch in the dust as their children developed horrific red tumors on their heads. This was billed a direct response to capture the alleged perpetrator of the 9/11 horror. Yet when the alleged perpetrator was offered up for trial in a neutral country, the U.S. ignored him and continued bombing. And it turns out the war in Afghanistan was planned long before 9/11. How can you launch a war that was planned before the crime was committed, and then insist the war was in response to the crime? Did we miss all this? Were we talking about something else when all this happened?

 

4. Now America can bomb anyone it wants to for any reason. The reasons don't have to be the truth, or even grounded in reality. They can be total fantasy. This is the scenario we are now witnessing in Iraq, where even proven presidential lies barely raise eyebrows and most agree that Iraq needed to be bombed because the president and the TV anchors said so. What was it we were doing when this became a logical action? What trip were we taking when we missed that point that honesty was no longer necessary for doing business in the world? And once they decided they could kill all those innocent prisoners at Guantanamo without real trials, where we going then? What was the sound of the Constitution being ridiculed by federal judges and taken away forever? Did you hear it? What did it sound like?

 

Was it like T. S. Eliot's "not with a bang, but with a whimper"?

 

Right after all those wonderful millennium fireworks celebrations, we came to a fork in the road, only almost nobody noticed, because we were all too busy having so much fun and congratulating ourselves about what a wonderful world we had.

 

Since that magical moment, we have been travelling full speed down the wrong road, with most of us still pretending that everything's OK, that when we wake up in the morning, things will be as they always have been, the stock market will rise, certain alluring items at the store will be on sale, that our jobs will be there and we'll always have plenty of gas in our cars. What was it we were talking about when these events happened? What did we think about them? What did we do about them?

 

What will you be talking about when you pass the point of no return? Baseball? Dietary supplements? Social obligations?

 

We're going full speed down a road of no return. We took a wrong turn at the millennium fork. Plenty of people noticed, but nobody said anything. We were all making too much money, all having too much fun.

 

Had we been a realistic, functional society " one that cast our focus on the health and maintenance of our lives and our world rather than one that seeks to escape from our responsibilities because we are so afraid of death " we could have learned plenty from those four post-millenium events that have so profoundly changed our world for the worse

 

Were we not led in the wrong direction by the pathetic prostitutes we see on the TV screens every night, we could have found out that Katherine Harris and Jeb Bush conspired to deprive over 90,000 people of their legitimate right to vote. I'm not saying any of the subsequent events would have changed if Al Gore had been the president (after all, Bill Clinton bombed the hell out of Yugoslavia at the behest of the International Monetary Fund, and the murderous masquerades in Waco and Oklahoma City were not exactly good advertisements for an open, honest government), but it doesn't seem as likely that Gore would have rammed the Patriot Act down our throats, despite the fact that it was written by Democrats, or bombed New York City on the basis of Dick Cheney's think-tank report. Who knows? Maybe he would have. The people in OKC sure think he might have.

 

The great lesson that has been missed by the stifling of the investigation into the World Trade Center disaster is the opportunity to see a continuity of manipulative aggression in the foreign policy of the United States throughout the 20th Century. I mean, the situation now is not that much different than it was in the 1890s when a stock market crash was engineered by rich industrialists, and then a new grand plan of imperialism was undertaken by U.S. presidents that resulted in major carnage in the Philippines, Cuba and even Hawaii that rivals in dishonest insincerity what has recently taken place in Afghanistan and Iraq.

 

Had there been a legitimate and independent investigation into the horror of 9/11, more people could have seen that the land of the free and the home of the brave has been provoking wars for profit around the world throughout the 20th Century, and that even the U.S. motivation for participation in World Wars I and II are subject to alternative interpretations that clearly reveal the main cause of them was manipulative profit-seeking from Wall Street and Washington.

 

A truly legitimate investigation into the grand deception of what is called 9/11 might also have revealed that it doesn't really matter who is president " that the tyranny and the murder goes on no matter who is president, because that's the way it has always been in America.

 

A real investigation into 9/11 might just have allowed us the opportunity to at least hope for a humane world, and possibly work toward one. A real investigation would have enabled us to see, perhaps, that American capitalism engineered by behind-the-scenes billionaires, funding both the Bolsheviks and Hitler, has caused all the wars of the 20th Century.

 

But now the cat is out of the bag for all the world to see. Naked and vicious power, with nothing " secular or sacred " able to stand in its way. No reason needed to use it, only an impulse toward gluttony by a sufficient number of godless petronazis mouthing religious phrases to keep the evangelical zombies lulled ecstatically in their apocalyptic aspirations.

 

As one commentator said the other day, the neocon conspiracy that has grabbed control of the United States and its military might is now much more dangerous than Hitler's Third Reich or the Soviet Union's Red Menace ever were, in part because there is no one to stop America from turning the whole world into a radioactive wasteland like the one that now exists in Iraq, but also because there is no voice of freedom anywhere in the world able to stand up and oppose the American Zionist propaganda machine that trumpets is new, horrid messages that twist the truth and obscure the atrocities. Like "freedom is economic slavery" and "democracy is a one-party system where all opposition is treason." The irony is that the rich patricians uttering these sadistic slogans are the ones who are the real traitors to the people of the world, and everything human and holy.

 

There was a time, not too long ago (I'm thinking '60s or '70s here), when idealism could have prevailed, where the noble nuances of selflessness and concern for others could have determined the future we have chosen for ourselves. But corporate fascism belittled and marginalized such quaint sentiments as inferior to naked profits and sophisticated selfishness, and now we are travelling down a road on which there are no U-turns. Although it happened very recently, we are well past the point of no return, and the road not taken will forever haunt us in our dreams, in each needlessly dead body we see sacrificed on the evil highway of pure profit.

 

What was it we were talking about when all this happened, and how important does it seem to us now, now that we can no longer turn back around, and make all those needlessly dead people live again?

 

And we teach our children that stealing money from the dead is all we need to make us feel good. Rejoice, ye faithful, this is the new American way.

We are at a crucial juncture in this nation, and I want to address what faces us. I wish to preface my thoughts with these quotes:

Kissinger - and Bush/Cheney -- seem to have taken their guidance directly from this Nazi. Mr. Rockefeller speaks directly to the New World Order that Bush has been implementing with every piece of legislation and executive order.

 

It concerns me deeply that many people who are now challenging the LIES about the "justifications" for invading the un-armed nation of Iraq are STILL accepting the LIES about 9-11. In the context of the quotes from Goering and Kissinger, it is imperative that people wake up to the truth about 9-11.

 

The LIES about 9-11 are too numerous to list, but I include a few blatant, obvious inconsistencies - particularly in light of what has now been conceded, i.e. FBI field agents DID notify Washington of imminent attacks.

 

Bush claimed he didn't have a clue of such possibilities. A LIE. But the next day, he had a list of 19 SAUDIS who supposedly perpetrated the crimes. NONE of them were on the flight manifests. Seven of them reported, "Hey, I'm alive." Yet we still hear of those same 19 SAUDI "hijackers."

 

So, we attacked Afghanistan instead of Arabia, and now a corporate desired (mandated) OIL pipeline is being built across Afghanistan.

 

For the Pentagon, we were told that a four-story plane made the one-story hole. For the WTC, we were told that burning carpets melted steel. We know the fire-fighters thought the situation was manageable, until the buildings imploded upon them, and we know the structural steel was quickly shipped out of the country for "recycling," to the outcry of inspectors who didn't understand why it failed, and wanted to find out.

 

The planes had to be on GPS-guided remote control. They were all equipped for remote control - to PREVENT hijackers from taking control of the planes in a hijacking. Did ALL these systems oddly fail, like the failure of intercept jets to get off the ground in their usual three minutes, and when finally launched, came out of Boston instead of DC or Langley AFB, VA? Air controllers had immediate, open-line communications with security agencies notifying them that four planes were off course.

 

What (WHO) caused ALL these SECURITY systems to fail? Who could believe that a foreign government, let alone a terrorist, could take control over such an extensive amount of our government security?

 

We know that Bush brazenly told congress to BACK OFF on investigating this heinous crime against America - a crime Bush called his "tri-fecta." He had his five-inch thick USA Patriot Act waiting for this excuse to ram it through congress. Claiming the desire to be "non-partisan," all in congress voted for it, without reading it. The "Patriot" act comes straight out of Hitler's doctrines, and the White House immediately began calling protesting Americans "traitor" -- straight from the Nazi Goering's advice.

 

Despite the WORLD outcry against invading an unarmed nation, Bush boldly LIED to the world and America about justifications for PRE-EMPTIVELY invading, and congress - filled with Republicans in both "parties"-- defiled the Constitution and gave Bush unprecedented power to engage in war at his pleasure.

 

We now have those same Republicans who fill both sides of the aisle saying they will investigate these "errors" that have cost America BILLIONS of dollars, and the LIVES in our military, and the lives of people who have dared to speak the TRUTH against these thugs; and it will continue to cost the lives of our military members who are LIVING in the radiation poison of the illegal weapons that dropped a second round of depleted uranium on Iraq. The planet will die before this poisoning does.

 

This is rehash. The critical point is that we MUST remember that Bush/Cheney were complicit in the 9-11 attacks against America. The attacks have been used to constantly perpetuate a state of fear, by continuing to broadcast Code Orange, etc. "alerts" to remind people - to set them up for what Kissinger said. Even some Republicans admit that we are LESS secure today than we were in 2000, and the mindset that Kissinger predicted has clearly been established.

 

Our media have become the Republican dumb-down America/ propaganda machine, so it is quite likely that we cannot expect mindless couch potatoes to get off their couches and "storm the castle."

 

We've already seen the 9-11 investigation thwarted and white-washed, so we know that nothing will come of an "investigation" of the lies that were used to take America into two invasions that have cost us billions, cost our rights and freedoms, our education, our healthcare--and is destroying our economy, both financially and psychologically. Clinton was impeached for lying about his private life.

 

Republicans won't even say the word "LIE" about the (always changing) justifications used for invading an OIL-rich nation. The evident point: nothing will come of the "investigation." There are too many Nazi-inspired politicians in both parties who are part of the quest for a New World Order - as described by David Rockefeller in the first quote above. (Please use a Net search to see that Bush money came from trading with Hitler. Rockefeller imported the Nazis to the US after their supposed defeat, gave them new IDs, and set up our secret government [the CIA] with them in 1947. Recall that Bush has admitted to setting his "secret government" in place since he took over our government.)

 

It is clear that the millions of voices that opposed the invasion of Iraq made no difference to these imperialists. It is tragically obvious that there are not enough genuine Democrats - and patriotic Republicans -- to sustain any majority to oppose the Nazi/Republican ownership of our government. This leaves us with only "we, the people," and if we do not PLAN a "storming of the castle," we will fail.

 

We do not have a prospective democratic candidate for president who has the energy, charisma, truth and integrity to inform the people and move them. All those from congress voted to give Bush the illegal power to declare "war," and Howard Dean supports our bloated military budget and the invasion of Iraq. Kucinich has the message, but not the energy. Gephardt is "more of the same," and he is skipping key votes, like taking overtime from eight million Americans. Lieberman is a Bush cooperative also. As the elections in 2004 are our only opportunity to oust these criminals, we need a valid alternative. Barbara Lee is the only politician who braved a vote against Bush to oppose giving him un-Constitutional war powers. We may need to look outside the present political arena.

 

Maybe we need Bill Moyers, a mature, involved and educated man who keeps his eye on justice - or someone like him who carries the energy, who can fire up the people, and tell them the truth.

Our second problem is the Republican-owned touch screen "voting" computers that made Democrats, who went into the 2002 elections with double-digit leads, lose in the so-called Republican Sweep.

 

The only thing that was "swept" was the actual vote. These machines are rigged and unless we get rid of them, and restore mechanical voting and exit polls, and get the people out to vote, NOTHING NOTHING! NOTHING! else will matter. We know the Florida vote was rigged. Yet there is no cry from the people or congress to stop this corruption of the system. Congress IS Republican. They own the machines. They are intent on their New World Order. We, the people MUST stop the use of these computers.

 

We may not even get the chance to vote in 2004, because Bush has enacted the legislation and executive orders that will enable him to assume full dictatorial control of our government with the drop of a suitcase bomb or another plane hijacking. This is why we MUST understand his complicity in 9-11. If another horror is perpetrated, it will be to achieve what Kissinger and Rockefeller and the Nazi Goering describe in the quotes at the beginning. It is what bin Laden warns us of. They are aiming for world control, and they don't intend to let anyone stop them. We cannot be sidetracked by issues that will come to naught - such as a Republican "investigation" into the "errors" in the State of the Union address. Impeaching Bush would only remove an arrogant puppet. The entire regime must go.

 

Our third weakness is that the Republicans own the media; and, as noted, they will not even use the word "LIE" against Bush. A few are beginning, but this too is for naught. If these thugs get annoyed by our "petty squabbling" -- about their destruction to our lives. our democracy, and our world standing -- they could blow off elections by setting their final ploy (another attack) in motion, and the uneducated masses will say, as Kissinger said they will, "Go ahead and take my liberties, just give me security."

 

The agenda of these thugs is evident in the glaring inconsistency when comparing the eight years of attacks on Clinton, and the way they just wave off or ignore their own treasonous actions -- with a congress that refuses to challenge them. Bush has smirked during speeches, making it clear he was marveling at how easy it is to deceive the people. He quite frankly does not care how many lies he gets caught in - because he holds the strings. He lied on national TV about his having met Ken Lay when Lay was supporting Ann Richards for governor. Both parts of that statement are LIES, but he made them on national TV and neither Ken Lay nor Bush has been investigated or charged for their collusion to dupe the employees and stockholders of Enron, or for raping California - a crime for which Governor Gray will apparently pay. Instead, it appears that Ken Lay is the author of our "energy policy."

 

If we do not win this "storming of the castle," then we may have to begin proclaiming our states to be nations - not under the control of despots, and begin creating our own economies and jobs -- instead of importing products made by slave labor, which is a factor in turning our own labors into slavery. Bear in mind - this happened in Russia. An old adage "As goes Russia, so goes America."

 

David Rockefeller opposes "auto-determination." He doesn't think that we, the people, have the capacity to self-govern. We MUST take action. Either this entire planet will go as we go, or the world may bring its collective "NO" to our shores. We on the Internet MUST awaken everyone in our circle of friends and acquaintances. Education is the first step to "auto-determination." The media has failed to keep us educated about those who were given -- or have taken -- the power to run our nation. We must make a concerted effort to become the sources of the education needed for self-governance. We must care as much as Paul Revere, who rode through the countryside at midnight to warn that the British were coming. Today we have Britain's Blair working hand-in-hand with Bush in deceiving our nation - and the world.

 

Bush is leaving our country defenseless as he sends our military around the globe. He next intends to ship out the National Guard. We already have military personnel of other nationals stationed and training in our country. Conspiracy theorists have long cried out that foreign nationals are here to attack and subdue our own people, as it would be difficult to persuade our own military to do so. Even so, Bush has already begun using our military in civil actions. The theorists also believe that the massive buildup of prisons that now hold drug users (on our tax dollars) will be used for people who resist the New World Order. It is time to consider what the conspiracy theorists have been saying. The Kissinger quote describes a police state using foreign nationals.

 

I have warned since my first petition to congress in 2001 that Bush holds the smallpox virus. He also used our tax dollars to buy 280 million doses of the smallpox vaccine - poorly made from old stocks. This is enough for every person in America, per the 2000 census. Yet it is estimated that fewer than 20% of the people are healthy enough to take the vaccine. The government is in court now for having made the HIV, and distributing it in vaccines in Africa and in hepatitis shots to the gay community in America. Africa is staggering under the impact of AIDS. America faces a worse decimation of the population if Bush unleashes the virus -- or mandates the vaccine. Think of those prisons when you recall that on the night before the vote, Bush inserted his draconian "health" measure into Homeland IN-Security. If you refuse the vaccine, you will be "quarantined"/imprisoned and your property will be confiscated. Welcome to the New World Order!

 

There is, on the Internet, a "resume" for George W. Bush. We should circulate it far and wide. We need to approach our city councils and state governments to have them repeal the USA Patriot Act and Homeland IN-Security that violate our rights and freedoms as citizens. The House of Representatives has the Power of Impeachment, but we know Corporate Republicanism owns our government. I find no other Constitutional provisions for impeachment. There is only the Declaration of Independence - not a legal document - but it tells us

 

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness.

 

The history of this nation proves what "we, the people" can accomplish with self-governance. Our democracy was severely corrupted when the private Federal Reserve Bank and the I.R.S began skimming money into their pockets from every dollar that passes through our economy. (Imagine their power from stealing like this on a global scale.) It was further corrupted when corporations were given more power as "people" than we the people have. Our Founding Fathers warned us against these corruptions. But David Rockefeller -- and Bush&Co -- believe we are better controlled by "The super-national sovereignty of an intellectual elite and world bankers."

 

We are at this critical juncture. We MUST understand what is at stake.

 

Let us not react in terror if we are assaulted with another act of "terrorism." Let us say, "Enough! Your presence in our government has destroyed our rights to Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness. You cause the world to hate us. We, the people, take back our government." It is the Right of the People.

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - Israeli officials told the Bush administration there was growing evidence that Iran was stepping up support for Palestinian militants following the war in Iraq, people close to the discussions said on Tuesday.

 

Israeli officials also told Washington that Tehran was accelerating efforts to develop nuclear weapons that could strike the Jewish state and other U.S. allies in the region.

 

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon raised the issues during his White House meeting with President Bush, who warned a week earlier that Iran and Syria would be "held accountable" if they supported terrorism.

 

"There are concerns both in Jerusalem and in Washington," one official said.

 

Israeli officials say new intelligence points to Iran filling the void left by Iraq in supporting militant groups including Hamas and Hizbollah, and that Tehran was actively trying to undercut a month-old cease-fire.

 

"It must be made clear to these countries that their evil deeds cannot continue," Sharon said at a joint news conference with Bush.

 

Bush did not mention Iran or Syria, but National Security Council spokesman Sean McCormack said: "Both Iran and Syria need to make a fundamental choice about the war on terrorism and to stop harboring and supporting terrorists and terrorist networks."

 

In building support for the war in Iraq, Bush cited Saddam Hussein's support for Palestinian militants.

 

Israeli officials say new intelligence suggests that Iran was offering $50,000 to the families of suicide bombers -- double the amount paid by the Iraqi president when he was in power.

 

"We also know specifically of Iranian involvement, through Hizbollah and other groups, to undermine (Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas) and to encourage terrorism... and undermine the cease-fire," said one Israeli official involved in the talks.

 

Bush met with Abbas at the White House last week.

 

The United States has accused Iran of harboring members of the al Qaeda network blamed for the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks.

 

U.S. officials have not ruled out military action to stop Tehran from making nuclear weapons. Iran says its nuclear program is for peaceful purposes and denies the terrorism charge.

JERUSALEM (AP) - Israel's parliament on Thursday passed a new law that would force Palestinians who marry Israelis to live separate lives or move out of Israel despite charges from human rights groups and Israeli Arabs that the law is racist.

The law would prevent Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza Strip who marry Israeli Arabs from obtaining residency permits in Israel.

The vote was 53 in favor, 25 against and one abstention, a spokeswoman for the parliament said.

``We see this law as the implementation of the transfer policy by the state of Israel,'' said Jafar Savah from Mossawa, an advocacy center for Israeli Arabs, referring to a plan by far right groups to transfer Israeli Arabs to other Arab countries.

Savah said the law was an attempt to legalize unofficial policy that has been in effect since September 2000 when violence broke out and warned that the law would damage relations between Israel and its Arab minority.

Both local and international human rights groups have condemned the law as racist.

``This is a racist law that decides who can live here according to racist criteria,'' said Yael Stein from the Israeli rights group B'tselem.

Human Rights Watch and Amnesty International have sent letters to the parliament protesting the law and urging lawmakers not to pass it, a statement from Human Rights Watch said.

Israel's government contends that such a law is necessary for security reasons, citing instances where Palestinians from the West Bank and Gaza have exploited their residency permits, granting them freedom of movement in Israel, to carry out terror attacks.

``This law comes to address a security issue,'' Cabinet Minister Gideon Ezra told Israel Radio. ``Since September 2000 we have seen a significant connection, in terror attacks, between Arabs from the West Bank and Gaza and Israeli Arabs,'' Ezra said.

Israel and the Palestinians have been locked in a bloody conflict for 33 months, though a cease-fire declared by the Palestinians on June 29 has significantly reduced violence.

The law, which passed its first reading on June 18, would force newly married couples to choose between living in the Palestinian areas or living separately and would be in effect for a year when the parliament must renew it.

It is not uncommon for members of Israel's 1 million strong Arab community to marry residents of the Palestinian areas, and this was one of the only ways a Palestinian could be eligible for an Israeli residency permit.

Ezra told the radio that since 1993 over 100,000 Palestinians have obtained Israeli permits in this manner. ``It has grown out of control,'' he said.

Stein from B'tselem said there have been only 20 cases from these 100,000 people who have been involved in terror.

``I am not taking these attacks lightly but this is an extreme solution to a marginal phenomenon,'' Stein said.

Ezra turned aside charges that the law was racist, saying ``I agree that anyone who kills Jews just because they are Jewish is a racist.''

Rights groups accused Israel of trying to rush the bill through parliament before it goes into recess on August 3.

JERUSALEM (AP) -- A truce by Palestinian militants is "paper thin" and Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat must be further isolated if a new peace effort is to succeed, U.S. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay told Israeli lawmakers Wednesday.

 

DeLay, on a tour of the Middle East, repeated calls for Palestinians to disarm militant groups as required by the U.S.-backed "road map" plan for Middle East peace.

 

Speaking in a reception hall at the Knesset, Israel's parliament, DeLay said that liberating Israel from Palestinian violence is part of the worldwide campaign against terror.

 

Dismissing the truce called by main Palestinian groups a month ago, he said: "And it's a liberation we are determined to secure, not merely a paper-thin cease-fire."

 

Violence that has killed 2,421 people on the Palestinian side and 810 on the Israeli side in the last three years has declined sharply since the three-month truce was declared by the Islamic groups Hamas and Islamic Jihad on June 29. Arafat's Fatah movement declared a six-month cease-fire.

 

"Murderers who take 90-day vacations are still murderers," DeLay said.

 

Delay spoke a day after Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon met President Bush in Washington. Palestinian Prime Minister Mahmoud Abbas saw Bush on Friday. Abbas has refused to order a crackdown on the militant groups, fearing a civil war, preferring agreements, like the truce, instead.

 

DeLay, an evangelical Christian, is one of a group of increasingly powerful "Christian Zionists" who are staunch supporters of Israel and oppose uprooting Jewish settlers from the West Bank, where they believe Jews have a divine right.

 

He has long defended Israel's use of force against Palestinian militants, saying the Jewish state is acting in self-defense, and has been skeptical of the road map plan.

 

The peace plan calls on Israel to dismantle Jewish settlement outposts built without government authorization in Palestinian areas and to make other concessions in exchange for peace. By 2005, according to the plan, the Palestinians would have a state in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

 

DeLay said victory in a global war against terrorism hinges partly on the disarming and dismantling of Palestinian militant groups.

 

"Israel's fight is our fight. And so shall it be until the last terrorist on Earth is in a cell or a cemetery," DeLay said, drawing loud applause from the crowd of lawmakers and Cabinet ministers.

 

Palestinian lawmaker Saeb Erekat called DeLay's remarks "despicable and satanic."

 

"Our world is not divided between those who are pro-Israeli and those who are pro-Palestinian," Erekat said after hearing the text of DeLay's speech. "It is divided between those who are pro-peace and those who are against it, and DeLay truly deserves to head the camp of those who are against peace."

 

DeLay arrived in Israel on Monday, meeting Israeli Foreign Minister Silvan Shalom and visiting a Jerusalem cafe rebuilt after a Palestinian suicide bomber killed 11 people there in March 2002.

 

On Tuesday, he took a helicopter tour of the dividing line between Israel and the West Bank and saw the northern border with Lebanon. DeLay will travel on to Iraq, Jordan and Italy.

 

Speaking at the Knesset, DeLay said ordinary Palestinians were pawns of a corrupt, brutal leadership.

 

"Their enemy is Yasser Arafat," he said. "Their enemy is Hamas, Hezbollah and the vast network of violent men who threaten this region like so many desert scorpions."

 

While he belittled Arafat, DeLay praised his deputy, Mahmoud Abbas - also known as Abu Mazen - who became the first Palestinian prime minister in April after pressure from America and others.

 

"The onus now shifts to the rest of the world to take the ascension of Abu Mazen to its logical conclusion: Arafat must be isolated," DeLay said.

 

Israel has effectively banned Arafat from traveling since tanks and bulldozers began demolishing most of his headquarters compound in the West Bank town of Ramallah a year and a half ago. Since then, Arafat has stayed in an office building there.

WASHINGTON, July 24 — Tom DeLay, the House majority leader, never tires of reminding people that he is just a former pest exterminator from Sugar Land, Tex. But beginning this weekend, he will travel to the world's most complex and troubled region, meet with prime ministers, speak to a foreign parliament and, by his presence, remind the Bush administration to pay heed to its right flank as it seeks to make peace.

As he travels next week through Israel, Jordan and Iraq, he will take with him a message of grave doubt that the Middle East is ready for a Palestinian state, as called for in the current peace plan, known as the road map, backed by the administration and Europe.

"I'm sure there are some in the administration who are smarter than me, but I can't imagine in the very near future that a Palestinian state could ever happen," he said in an interview today, as he prepared to leave for a weeklong official tour.

"I can't imagine this president supporting a state of terrorists, a sovereign state of terrorists," he said. "You'd have to change almost an entire generation's culture."

Instead, Mr. DeLay, one of the three most powerful Republicans in Congress, called on the administration to carry out a "Marshall plan" for Palestinian areas, with the United States paying to rebuild the economy there rather than giving aid to Palestinian leaders directly. He said he had been working hard to persuade the White House to support his plan, and intended to bring it up in separate meetings with Ariel Sharon and Mahmoud Abbas, the Israeli and Palestinian prime ministers. He will also address the Israeli Parliament and meet with King Abdullah of Jordan.

During the last year or two, Mr. DeLay has emerged as a significant figure in Middle East policy, particularly since his ascension to the majority leader's post this session. He has often fought for more aid to Israel than the Bush administration has offered, and has in the past called the peace plan "a road map to destruction."

As an evangelical Christian, he is the most prominent member in Washington of the Christian Zionist movement, a formidable bloc of conservative Republicans whose support for Israel is based on biblical interpretations, sometimes putting them to the right of Israeli government. His persistent skepticism about Mr. Bush's peace initiative indicates that the president may yet have to wrestle with his right flank in pursuing a plan that ultimately calls for a Palestinian state.

Mr. DeLay praised the president today for forcefully refusing to negotiate with Yasir Arafat, the Palestinian leader, whom he called a terrorist, and said he would not be critical of the road map. But he has clearly been taken aback by the pace of Israel's own progress toward negotiations with the Palestinians.

"You could have knocked me over," he said, when Mr. Sharon declared in May that the time had come to divide the land of Israel with the Palestinians, a position that Mr. DeLay has long abhorred with much of the same thunder that used to be Mr. Sharon's trademark.

Even now, he said, he thinks that the Palestinians must go much further in renouncing terrorism before a meaningful peace can be achieved.

"So far, I can't be critical, but I do have grave concerns," he said. "I have watched peace process after peace process after peace process, which is what happens when the process drives everything, not the peace. When they talk about a road map, I question whether this is a road map based on the president's speech, or a road map based on some State Department concept of another peace process."

He said the American military victory in Iraq, however, had given him some optimism that Palestinians would begin to move away from the use of violence as they began to appreciate the power of the United States.

Congressional Democrats, hoping not to lose any of their traditional Jewish support to pro-Israel Republicans, are also planning an official visit to Israel. Representative Steny H. Hoyer of Maryland, the Democratic whip, will lead a delegation of 29 House Democrats to Israel next month, and he said he believed that he would carry a more upbeat view of the peace effort.

He said his group embraced a more optimistic view of the ability of those involved to "effect in the near term a solid peace that is kept between an emerging Palestinian state and a sovereign, secure state of Israel."

In general, Mr. Hoyer said, he shares Mr. DeLay's view that the United States must be absolutely committed to Israel's integrity and security, though he suggested that the Republican position was in part motivated by domestic politics.

Mr. DeLay, however, said politics had nothing to do with his position, predicting that Jews would never leave the Democratic Party in large numbers. Instead, he said, his passion for Israel is driven by his support for its democratic values and by his faith.

WASHINGTON (JTA) — House Majority Leader Tom DeLay (R-Texas) blasted the State Department’s report on Israel’s actions in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Accepting an award April 2 at the International Fellowship of Christians and Jews’ Stand for Israel Day in Washington, DeLay said the report, released last week, “compares the human rights record of a free, tolerant and pluralistic nation with that of a terrorist network. There is no comparison, and to assert one is ridiculous.”

More than 600 Christian leaders attended the event in Washington, which also honored Rep. Tom Lantos (D-Calif.).

Speakers included Attorney General John Ashcroft, Rep. Eric Cantor (R-Va.) and Israel’s ambassador to the United States, Daniel Ayalon.

Is it a Fence? Is it a Wall? No, it's a Separation Barrier

Israel's Separation Barrier, dubbed the "Apartheid Wall" or "Berlin Wall" by Palestinians, has increasingly attracted international media attention, largely due to the hard-to-ignore scale of the project.

The most obvious historical parallel to the barrier is the Berlin Wall, which was 96 miles long (155 kilometers). Israel's barrier, still under construction, is expected to reach at least 403 miles in length (650 kilometers). The average height of the Berlin Wall was 11.8 feet (3.6 metres), compared with the maximum* current height of Israel's Wall -- 25 feet (8 metres).

[*it is not clear whether the shorter fence sections, about 6 meters in height, are first or final stages in Israel's construction of the barrier.]

Israel's barrier is therefore planned to be four times as long and in places twice as high as the Berlin Wall.


Photographs of the barrier available on the wire services show two main types of section -- a wall made of concrete or concrete/fence combination, and a fence-only version of the barrier. Some references in the media suggest that the two main forms of the barrier correspond to differing levels of implementation of security by Israel, with the wall sections reserved for areas perceived as "especially vulnerable", the fence sections for areas less so. It is not so simple. In addition to the concrete wall and fencing materials used in the construction of the structure, sections of Israel's Separation Barrier additionally include electrified fencing, two-meter-deep trenches, roads for patrol vehicles, electronic ground/fence sensors, thermal imaging and video cameras, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), sniper towers, and razor wire.


At this point in time it is not known exactly what proportions of the length of the barrier is fence versus wall, or if the fence is merely a temporary state until a wall can be built in all areas but -- nonetheless -- the wall unquestionably represents a considerable portion of the visible manifestation of the barrier.


WIRE SERVICE IMAGES OF THE SEPARATION BARRIER

Wire service images are important at they represent part of the education of foreign and photo editors sitting in newsrooms around the world who have not actually seen the barrier with their own eyes. With caption descriptions of the barrier ranging from "concrete wall" to the wonderfully inventive "concrete fence" of AFP's Yoav Lemmer, a large number of images from the wire services make it absolutely clear that the barrier is not merely or entirely a "fence".

The original AFP caption attached to the bottom right image includes some editorialising, claiming the barrier was built to "stop Palestinian terrorists from entering Israel", with no mention of what effect it has on the farmers and residents of Qalqiliya.

SEMANTIC PROBLEMS RELATING TO THE STRUCTURE OF THE BARRIER

Typically, Israeli terminology is favored in US reportage of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. In Hebrew, the word for fence is gader. Consequently, the preferred Israeli terminology for the barrier is gader hafradeh ("separation fence").

The Hebrew words for wall are qir and chomah. The former is mostly used for structures and buildings; the latter for protective fortifications -- the formulation chosen by Israeli activist organisation Gush Shalom. Either of them would be more appropriate for this particular structure.

The semantic problems posed by the use of the word "fence", in either language, are enormous:

1. A structure serving as an enclosure, a barrier, or a boundary, usually made of posts or stakes joined together by boards, wire, or rails.

No discipline in the US forces and the commanders have a hard time in controlling their men. Protestors are to be shown to be "die-hard Baathist supporters of the evil Saddam" and show pictures of a "commando" camp with pictures of Saddam and anti-US slogans." (June 12)

 

Since April, The Barnes Review News web site (www.tbrnews.org) has posted memos like this from an executive at a major TV network to selected News Division staff.

 

If they are authentic, these memos represent the most important revelation of government deception since the Pentagon Papers, and suggest the "news" is little more than mass psychological control. There are shocking references to cover-ups of government domestic terrorism, SARS, Mad Cow, and events in Iraq, Afghanistan, Korea, Iran and much more.

 

In mid-March TBR Webmaster Walter Storch received an email from a man who claimed to be a mid-level executive at a major U.S. TV network. He said he had "serious doubts" about the strict control of the media by the government.

 

He sent Storch a disc containing 1500 pages of memos dating back to 2001. All were on corporate stationary signed by the sender and recipients in the News Division.

 

Storch asked for current directives and was able to ascertain that they were followed both in print and on TV. He posted the memos in excerpt or in full and watched "as ordained news was created before our eyes."

 

"We are now printing the more outrageous and serious aspects of the incoming papers with the hopes that this will cause serious public relations problems [for] those directly involved," Storch wrote recently.

 

Named for "revisionist" historian Harry Elmer Barnes, TBR sees accepted history as propaganda by the winners. Presumably the TV executive thought this web site would have the courage to expose contemporary propaganda as well.

 

The memos so far have created a minor sensation. TBR news gets 3,000-10,000 viewers of this item per day, about half foreign. About 95% of the email response is positive while 5% are from government and press people who are "outraged by the implications. "

 

The memo writer is probably an executive at a media conglomerate in New York charged with coordinating with government. His directives seem to be followed by other networks and newspapers, although he refers to "unreliable" newspapers (June 2).

 

He decides what to suppress ("blackout"), what to promote ("puff pieces"), what angle to take on anything controversial. About SARS, which did spread to the US but was called pneumonia, he says," Get the usual medical people and give them the usual script." (May 25)

 

He has a cynical, conspiratorial, chatty style and makes the newsmen feel they are "in the know." They do not include the public in this charmed circle.

 

RECENTLY A CHANGE OF TONE

 

In July, the memo writer starts to distance himself from Bush policy in Iraq, which is becoming a quagmire like Vietnam. He implies that "our circle" predicted this from the start. This suggests that his master may be the Rockefeller-CIA-CFR elite network.

 

For the first time, the writer urges a "completely neutral position" in case Bush goes the way of Richard Nixon. On July 12, he tells the executives to follow the example of "bellweather" New York Times. On August 1, the New York Times described Bush's performance at a recent news conference as "vague and sometimes nearly incoherent.... [he gave] rambling non answers."

 

On July 17, the writer says, "The White House is moving into a bunker mentality, very much like Nixon during the end of the Watergate business." The elite media may be getting ready to dump George W. Bush. Why would they report every U.S. casualty in Iraq when they have blacked out Afghanistan?

 

Iraq may be Bush's Watergate. He may have been tricked into invading Iraq, just as Nixon was tricked into sanctioning Watergate. The whole affair from Sept 11 to the Iraq war may be designed (like Vietnam) to bleed the U.S. taxpayer, destroy American morale and undermine the US's stature in the world.

For me they read like the script of a play I have been seeing. Play down North Korea. Black out Rachel Corrie. It's all followed. I have always been disturbed by the uncanny uniformity of the three TV network newscasts.

Hi Jeff,

 

Just finished listening to your recently archived broadcast featuring Clifford Carnicom. Great show!

 

On the issue of chemtrails, I've always leaned towards the weather modification/anti-global warming type of explanations, with hope that the reasoning behind this type of experimentation would be for the good of the people...

 

But, after witnessing, first-hand, the specific, and blantant targeting of a half a million people gathered in Toronto for a SARS relief concert (how ironic) on July 30th, 2003, headlined by AC/DC and the Rolling Stones, I now believe that a far more sinister plan has been put into action.

 

Just past 3:15pm, 4 parallel chemtrails were released. They were evenly-spaced, starting from one end of the conert grounds to the other, east to west, beginning and ending at the same points in the sky directly above the crowd. I was dumbfounded, because I spend much of the morning and early afternoon seeing a variety of normal contrail activity, and thought perhaps there would be no chemtrail spraying. Yet, when it happened, I couldn't believe how obvious it was.

 

I am not aware of any photographs or video footage of this.

 

I don't know if this information is useful to you or not, but I thought I would pass it along anyway.

The Rolling Stones headlined a major benefit concert in Toronto yesterday to help the city recover after being devastated by the recent SARS outbreak. It was a public relations display to tell the rest of the world that Toronto is back in business and is a great place to visit.

 

Now the irony. During the concert the crowds were being sprayed by Chemtrails while black helicopters watched overhead in a circular repeating pattern of surveillance. Someone has a sick sense of humor. The event was plagued by the same disease affecting the economy of which the benefit concert was to alleviate, severe respiratory disease, aka Ð SARS. The same problem that people are experiencing from the Chemtrails Ð severe repository disease!

 

What gives?

 

We were only allowed to bring into the concert disposable cameras; it makes sense now looking back on it. The chemtrails show up better with a zoom lens and higher resolution. Here are some photos I took with a disposable Kodak camera. More unholy synchronicity Ð at the time the photos were taken AC/DC were on stage singing "Highway to Hell". The monitors showed burning flames and the skies were glowing orange as well. A fitting song, to a fitting backdrop. The United Nations would be proud.
