Distribution Of "Jesus" Video Called Offensive

(CHARISMA) -- Mailbox missionary efforts are coming under increasing fire from religious leaders who object to blanket distribution of an evangelistic video. They say that sending an unsolicited film of the life of Christ to every home in their communities is intrusive and insensitive.

About 10 million copies of "Jesus," based on Luke's gospel and ending with an invitation for the viewer to pray to become a Christian, have been distributed to homes across the country since 1992. Originally hand delivering them, local church networks that have taken part in the program have more recently paid to have them sent out by the U.S. Postal Service.

The mailing idea first hit trouble in May, when 400,000 copies were distributed in Palm Beach County, Fla., which has a sizeable Jewish community. Some recipients were so angry about the unrequested video that they bundled bricks with tape to increase the return shipping charges after they refused delivery. One postal worker said she had never known so many complaints in more than 20 years service.

Now the outreach has run into opposition in California and Kansas. About 1.1 million homes in San Juan Capistrano and Canyon Lake, Calif., are due to receive a copy of the video before Christmas. Rabbi David Eliezrie of Congregation Beth Meir HaCohen-Chabad Center in Westminster told "The Los Angeles Times": "While I respect the right of freedom of religion, I resent the effort of certain Christian groups to evangelize the Jewish community. And I'd prefer that they focus on their own religious brethren."

However out of this respect of religious freedom, the Rabid Chabad Lubavitch and the Bush administration made Universal Noahidism the NEW WORLD ORDER Religion, and certainly they do not need Proslytize, simply because you will be forced to worship their Moshaich, or be decapitated

Why Don't Jews Believe In Jesus?

It is important to understand why Jews don't believe in Jesus. The purpose is not to disparage other religions, but rather to clarify the Jewish position. The more data that's available, the better-informed choices people can make about their spiritual path.

Jews do not accept Jesus as the messiah because:

1) Jesus did not fulfill the messianic prophecies.

2) Jesus did not embody the personal qualifications of the Messiah.

3) Biblical verses "referring" to Jesus are mistranslations.

4) Jewish belief is based on national revelation.

At the end of this article, we will examine these additional topics:

5) Christianity contradicts Jewish theology

6) Jews and Gentiles

7) Bringing the Messiah

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

1) JESUS DID NOT FULFILL THE MESSIANIC PROPHECIES

What is the Messiah supposed to accomplish? The Bible says that he will:

A. Build the Third Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28).

B. Gather all Jews back to the Land of Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6).

C. Usher in an era of world peace, and end all hatred, oppression, suffering and disease. As it says: "Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall man learn war anymore." (Isaiah 2:4)

D. Spread universal knowledge of the God of Israel, which will unite humanity as one. As it says: "God will be King over all the world -- on that day, God will be One and His Name will be One" (Zechariah 14:9).

The historical fact is that Jesus fulfilled none of these messianic prophecies.

Christians counter that Jesus will fulfill these in the Second Coming, but Jewish sources show that the Messiah will fulfill the prophecies outright, and no concept of a second coming exists.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

2) JESUS DID NOT EMBODY THE PERSONAL QUALIFICATIONS OF MESSIAH

A. MESSIAH AS PROPHET

Jesus was not a prophet. Prophecy can only exist in Israel when the land is inhabited by a majority of world Jewry. During the time of Ezra (circa 300 BCE), when the majority of Jews refused to move from Babylon to Israel, prophecy ended upon the death of the last prophets -- Haggai, Zechariah and Malachi.

Jesus appeared on the scene approximately 350 years after prophecy had ended.

B. DESCENDENT OF DAVID

The Messiah must be descended on his father's side from King David (see Genesis 49:10 and Isaiah 11:1). According to the Christian claim that Jesus was the product of a virgin birth, he had no father -- and thus could not have possibly fulfilled the messianic requirement of being descended on his father's side from King David!

C. TORAH OBSERVANCE

The Messiah will lead the Jewish people to full Torah observance. The Torah states that all mitzvot remain binding forever, and anyone coming to change the Torah is immediately identified as a false prophet. (Deut. 13:1-4)

Throughout the New Testament, Jesus contradicts the Torah and states that its commandments are no longer applicable. (see John 1:45 and 9:16, Acts 3:22 and 7:37)

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

3) MISTRANSLATED VERSES "REFERRING" TO JESUS

Biblical verses can only be understood by studying the original Hebrew text -- which reveals many discrepancies in the Christian translation.

A. VIRGIN BIRTH

The Christian idea of a virgin birth is derived from the verse in Isaiah 7:14 describing an "alma" as giving birth. The word "alma" has always meant a young woman, but Christian theologians came centuries later and translated it as "virgin." This accords Jesus' birth with the first century pagan idea of mortals being impregnated by gods.

B. CRUCIFIXION

The verse in Psalms 22:17 reads: "Like a lion, they are at my hands and feet." The Hebrew word ki-ari (like a lion) is grammatically similar to the word "gouged." Thus Christianity reads the verse as a reference to crucifixion: "They pierced my hands and feet."

C. SUFFERING SERVANT

Christianity claims that Isaiah chapter 53 refers to Jesus, as the "suffering servant."

In actuality, Isaiah 53 directly follows the theme of chapter 52, describing the exile and redemption of the Jewish people. The prophecies are written in the singular form because the Jews ("Israel") are regarded as one unit. The Torah is filled with examples of the Jewish nation referred to with a singular pronoun.

Ironically, Isaiah's prophecies of persecution refer in part to the 11th century when Jews were tortured and killed by Crusaders who acted in the name of Jesus.

From where did these mistranslations stem? St. Gregory, 4th century Bishop of Nanianzus, wrote: "A little jargon is all that is necessary to impose on the people. The less they comprehend, the more they admire."

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

4) JEWISH BELIEF IS BASED SOLELY ON NATIONAL REVELATION

Of the 15,000 religions in human history, only Judaism bases its belief on national revelation -- i.e. God speaking to the entire nation. If God is going to start a religion, it makes sense He'll tell everyone, not just one person.

Judaism, unique among all of the world's major religions, does not rely on "claims of miracles" as the basis for its religion. In fact, the Bible says that God sometimes grants the power of "miracles" to charlatans, in order to test Jewish loyalty to the Torah (Deut. 13:4).

Maimonides states (Foundations of Torah, ch. 8):

The Jews did not believe in Moses, our teacher, because of the miracles he performed. Whenever anyone's belief is based on seeing miracles, he has lingering doubts, because it is possible the miracles were performed through magic or sorcery. All of the miracles performed by Moses in the desert were because they were necessary, and not as proof of his prophecy.

What then was the basis of [Jewish] belief? The Revelation at Mount Sinai, which we saw with our own eyes and heard with our own ears, not dependent on the testimony of others... as it says, "Face to face, God spoke with you..." The Torah also states: "God did not make this covenant with our fathers, but with us -- who are all here alive today." (Deut. 5:3)

Judaism is not miracles. It is the personal eyewitness experience of every man, woman and child, standing at Mount Sinai 3,300 years ago.

See "Did God Speak at Mount Sinai" for further reading.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

5) CHRISTIANITY CONTRADICTS JEWISH THEOLOGY

The following theological points apply primarily to the Roman Catholic Church, the largest Christian denomination.

A. GOD AS THREE?

The Catholic idea of Trinity breaks God into three separate beings: The Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost (Matthew 28:19).

Contrast this to the Shema, the basis of Jewish belief: "Hear O Israel, the Lord our God, the Lord is ONE" (Deut. 6:4). Jews declare the Shema every day, while writing it on doorposts (Mezuzah), and binding it to the hand and head (Tefillin). This statement of God's One-ness is the first words a Jewish child is taught to say, and the last words uttered before a Jew dies.

In Jewish law, worship of a three-part god is considered idolatry -- one of the three cardinal sins that a Jew should rather give up his life than transgress. This explains why during the Inquisitions and throughout history, Jews gave up their lives rather than convert.

B. MAN AS GOD?

Roman Catholics believe that God came down to earth in human form, as Jesus said: "I and the Father are one" (John 10:30).

Maimonides devotes most of the "Guide for the Perplexed" to the fundamental idea that God is incorporeal, meaning that He assumes no physical form. God is Eternal, above time. He is Infinite, beyond space. He cannot be born, and cannot die. Saying that God assumes human form makes God small, diminishing both His unity and His divinity. As the Torah says: "God is not a mortal" (Numbers 23:19).

Judaism says that the Messiah will be born of human parents, and possess normal physical attributes like other people. He will not be a demi-god, and will not possess supernatural qualities. In fact, an individual is alive in every generation with the capacity to step into the role of the Messiah. (see Maimonides - Laws of Kings 11:3)

C. INTERMEDIARY FOR PRAYER?

The Catholic belief is that prayer must be directed through an intermediary -- i.e. confessing one's sins to a priest. Jesus himself is an intermediary, as Jesus said: "No man cometh unto the Father but by me."

In Judaism, prayer is a totally private matter, between each individual and God. As the Bible says: "God is near to all who call unto Him" (Psalms 145:18). Further, the Ten Commandments state: "You shall have no other gods BEFORE ME," meaning that it is forbidden to set up a mediator between God and man. (see Maimonides - Laws of Idolatry ch. 1)

D. INVOLVEMENT IN THE PHYSICAL WORLD

Catholic doctrine often treats the physical world as an evil to be avoided. Mary, the holiest woman, is portrayed as a virgin. Priests and nuns are celibate. And monasteries are in remote, secluded locations.

By contrast, Judaism believes that God created the physical world not to frustrate us, but for our pleasure. Jewish spirituality comes through grappling with the mundane world in a way that uplifts and elevates. Sex in the proper context is one of the holiest acts we can perform.

The Talmud says if a person has the opportunity to taste a new fruit and refuses to do so, he will have to account for that in the World to Come. Jewish rabbinical schools teach how to live amidst the bustle of commercial activity. Jews don't retreat from life, we elevate it.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

6) JEWS AND GENTILES

Judaism does not demand that everyone convert to the religion. The Torah of Moses is a truth for all humanity, whether Jewish or not. King Solomon asked God to heed the prayers of non-Jews who come to the Holy Temple (Kings I 8:41-43). The prophet Isaiah refers to the Temple as a "House for all nations."

The Temple service during Sukkot featured 70 bull offerings, corresponding to the 70 nations of the world. The Talmud says that if the Romans would have realized how much benefit they were getting from the Temple, they'd never have destroyed it.

Jews have never actively sought converts to Judaism because the Torah prescribes a righteous path for gentiles to follow, known as the "Seven Laws of Noah." Maimonides explains that any human being who faithfully observes these basic moral laws earns a proper place in heaven.

Why Judeo Churchizionians have fallen for the Chabad Lubavitch fables

These do not believe in God, for they want to be gods, a master race, the self chosen, of the chooser Satan, who rejected the Savior......and now after the above set up, they close in for the Develish kill....

BRINGING THE MESSIAH

Maimonides states that the popularity of Christianity (and Islam) is part of God's plan to spread the ideals of Torah throughout the world. This moves society closer to a perfected state of morality and toward a greater understanding of God. All this is in preparation for the Messianic age.

Indeed, the world is in desperate need of Messianic redemption. War and pollution threaten our planet; ego and confusion erode family life. To the extent we are aware of the problems of society, is the extent we will yearn for redemption. As the Talmud says, one of the first questions a Jew is asked on Judgment Day is: "Did you yearn for the arrival of the Messiah?"

How can we hasten the coming of the Messiah? The best way is to love all humanity generously, to keep the mitzvot of the Torah (as best we can), and to encourage others to do so as well.

Despite the gloom, the world does seem headed toward redemption. One apparent sign is that the Jewish people have returned to the Land of Israel and made it bloom again. Additionally, a major movement is afoot of young Jews returning to Torah tradition.

The Messiah can come at any moment, and it all depends on our actions. God is ready when we are. For as King David says: "Redemption will come today -- if you hearken to His voice."

You can now become an obediet Goyim of the Master Race of the little gods, all you have to do is renounce Jesus Christ the Lord of Lords. Chances are, that if you are a Scofiledite and fallen for the mystical "Secret Rapture" doctrines, you are also brainwashed to believe that the Jews are the "Chosen" and that they do not need Jesus Christ. You are already become anti-Christ and Deny the Creator of ALL MEN, and you will indeed become a perfect little righteous Noahide slave unto Moshiach ben Satan, Lucifer, the son of perdition.

CHRISTIANS FOR MOSES/THE ORGANIZATION OF EX-CHRISTIANS & NOAHIDE MINISTRY OF SOUTH FLORIDA

What is Christians for Moses?

We are a fellowship of former Christians who through study of the Tanach (The so called "Old" Testament or Hebrew Bible) have come to realize that the only true word of G-d was that which was given to Moses at Mt.Sinai & all other additions to the Bible such as the so called "New" Testament are false man made doctrines & not the authentic word of G-d Almighty.

The L-rd G-d creator of the universe enstrusted the Jewish people at Mt.Sinai to teach the entire world his truth & we as G-d fearing Gentiles learn the Almighthy's eternal truth exclusively from Orthodox Rabbis & we came to understand from learning Tanach from those that know it & understand it best namely Orthodox Jews who have an unbroken chain from Moses's time that deifying a human being or saying that there is a triune deity is sheer blasphemy as it is belittling our Creator to say that he would lower himself to become a lowly human or sacrifice the life of a human being.

The Jewish people were given 613 commandments in the Torah which is the 5 books of Moses & earlier than that G-d Almighty gave Noah 7 commandments which are the only laws in the Bible binding on Gentiles & are still in effect today!!!!

The 7 Noahide Laws are:
1.Do not blaspheme G-d.
2.Do not worship idols(Jesus & the crucifix are idols)
3.Do not commit immoral sexual acts(homosexuality, bestiality, incest)
4.Do not Murder.
5.Do not steal.
6.Do not eat the the limbs of a living animal while it is still alive.
7.Establish courts of law to enforce these laws.

If you are a friend of a Christian who needs help or are a Christian yourself, you have come to the right place. Within this site you will find the necessary steps that can help you or someone you love free themselves from the mental enslavement of this terrible disease. Christians for Moses was co-founded by Ex-Baptist Minister The Late Delroy Brockett & Rabbi Yerachmiel Gersh of The Jewish Defense League in 1993 to bring G-d's truth to both Jews & Gentiles.

Why the name Christians For Moses if we rejected Christianity?

Actually this name is not original nor are the reasons & the concept as the concept was thought up way back in the 70's by the late Rabbi Meir Kahane OF Saintly Memory as an answer & reaction to Jews For Jesus & similar type groups & brought to life by his student Rabbi Yerachmiel Gersh & The Late DelRoy Brockett an Ex-Bapist minister turned Noahide.

Today Christians for Moses is under the directorship of Mariano Otero a former Pentecostal Minister who today is a fully committed Orthodox Jew who teaches Bnai Noach & wayward Jews the truth as revealed in the Torah.

 How they were Bewitched

Why We Reject Jesus

They get all their answers from the liars brood of Babylonian Talmud Pharisaic rabbi's

Why We Reject Jesus

About 2000 years ago, Christians abandoned the law of Moses and began to worship a Galilean named Jesus of Nazareth.
They encouraged their Jewish brethren to join them in idolatry.
The answer was no, and unremitting Christian hostility became the norm. Jews rejected Jesus because of these claims of divinity.
In addition, they refused to believe a dead man could be messiah, especially when he himself was not clear on this issue. Did Jesus believe himself to be the messiah?
He did not (Matthew 22:41-46; Mark 12:35-37; Luke 20:41-44). He tacitly admitted he was not the messiah.
The gospels still call Jesus the son of David.
Why?
To prove that he was the messiah, who was prophesied to be of the house of David.
Both gospels give genealogies to try prove their point. Both fail miserably:

1. How many generations were from David to Jesus?
Matthew lists 28 generations (1:6-16).
Luke lists 43 generations (3:23-31)

2. Matthew's genealogy includes Jeconiah(Jehoiachim), a wicked king cursed so that his descendents would never again sit on the throne (Jeremiah 22:24-30)

3. G-d vows that Jeconiah will be childless. Matthew mistakenly says that he bore Salatheil, an ancestor of Jesus.

Problems with Jesus’ genealogies in Luke (ascribed to Mary by Christian tradition):

1.Descent from Nathan: the messiah was only through Solomon.

2.Tribal lineage in Jewish Law was always through the male, not the female.

Paul knew about these problems and told his disciple Timothy not to pay attention to “endless genealogies."(1 Timothy 1:4) In other words, he told Timothy not to bother himself with the facts!
When the gospel's couldn't find verses, they made them up, like Matthew 2:23: "And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth; that it might be fulfilled...he shall be called a Nazarene." This verse exists nowhere in the Jewish scriptures.
Jews always have been a problem for Christendom. Jesus' own people rejected him and survived to tell of it! Now 2000 years have passed, Jesus is not yet returned, and the Jews are triumphantly returned to their land. The Messiah will appear, the temple will be rebuilt, and Christianity will once and for all be proven false!
The Jewish answer as to who Jesus was:

What do the Rabbis say of Jesus? In Talmud Sanhedrin, Rabbi Eliezer says that Jesus was stoned and hung for idolatry and witchcraft, a tradition reflected in the Christian scriptures:

Acts 5:20: "Jesus whom ye slew and hanged on a tree."
Acts 10:39: "whom they slew and hanged on a tree."
The Greek word xulom used here always means tree, not cross.

The Jewish view of Jesus can basically be summed up as follows:

Yeshu (Yeshua, Jesus) of Nazareth practiced sorcery and led people astray.
He was an idolator and heretic who mocked the Rabbis.
He was stoned/hung on the eve of Passover for his crimes by a Jewish, not a Roman court.
The authors of the Talmud imply he was the son of an adultress , the hairdresser Mary (Miriam) and a soldier named Pandera/Panthere.
That for 40 days before his execution a herald was sent out looking for those who would plead in his favor but could find no one to do so.
The rabbis of that generation taught that Yeshu would have no share in the world to come.
That he lived in the time of Maccabean king Alexander Jannai and his wife Salome a full 130 years before the date alluded to in the gospels (Sanhedrin107b).

This tradition is reflected in the writings of church father Epiphanius who writes that Jesus began to preach during the time of King Jannai. (The Panarion-Against Heresies) While not pretty, this version makes more sense than the fantastical virgin birth story.
The earliest of these Talmud sources date from a time well before the Gospels reached their final form.
Indeed, many Gospel stories seem to be specific responsa to the Jewish picture of Jesus in the Talmud.
Roman opponents of Christianity were familiar with the Jewish version early on (such as Celsus and Porphyry).
In addition, church fathers such as Justin Martyr (1st Century CE), Celsus (2nd Century CE) and Epiphanius (3rd Century CE) wrote their polemical works in response to the rabbis.
The arguments over Jesus intensified during these first three centuries of the common era until the church came to full power in 325 CE. At the Council of Nicaea in that year, a pagan Roman emperor, Constantine, made Christianity the official religion to shore up his tottering empire.
This council deified Jesus, cutting the new religion off forever from its Jewish roots and incorporated elements of pagan cultss to win over their adherents.
This mutated church began several centuries of persecution of its Jewish mother, censoring the sections of the Talmud that referred to Jesus and Christianity.
Only within the last century have the censored parts been restored to printed versions of the Jewish Talmud.

“I will bless them that bless thee and curse him that curseth thee. (Genesis 12:3)

Gentiles are blessed by G-d via the Jewish people.
Their closeness to G-d is dictated by their treatment of the Jews and their obedience to mankind’s covenant with Noah.
These laws include:

1. Prohibition of idol-worship
2. Prohibition of blasphemy
3. Prohibition of theft
4. Prohibition of murder
5. Prohibition of sexual misconduct
6. Prohibition of eating meat cut from a living animal.
7. Prohibition of failure to set up law-courts.

These universally recognized laws represent the common or so-called natural laws of humanity.
These laws are incumbent upon all of humanity, but particularly to Gentiles who are not subject to the full Mosaic law. Observance of these seven Torah laws makes a Gentile righteous and merits them a portion in the world to come.

The Gentile who wants to draw close to G-d should stop their idolatrous worship of Jesus and become full Noachides who support the Jews in their mission of spreading Torah to the world. Only then will there be true peace and we will merit the coming of Moshiach.

The Resurrected Rebbe

By Rabbi David Berger

In the course of the last seven years, a revolutionary develop-ment has quietly overtaken the Jewish religion. Unless it is somehow rolled back, Jews will soon have to confront the fact that one of the key pillars of their faith has been thoroughly undermined, and even the most elementary primer on the differences between Judaism and Christianity will have to be rewritten. The matter at issue is what Jews believe about the messiah.

Faith in the coming of a redeemer is a basic component of traditional Judaism, and a rich literature records wide-ranging speculation about the end of days. But the essence of Judaism's traditional messianic faith can be compressed into a single sentence: a king will arise from the line of the biblical David who will preside over a peaceful, prosperous, monotheistic world, with the Temple in Jerusalem rebuilt and the Jewish people-including at some point its resurrected dead-returned to its land.

For Christians, of course, the messiah decidedly could die in the midst of his redemptive mission. Indeed, Jewish denial of this proposition became one of the central points of contention in the millennial debate between the two religions. Thus, in the most famous of medieval disputations, the Jewish representative, Moses Ben Nahman (Nahmanides), asserted that he could not believe in Jesus' messiahship because the biblical prophecies of universal peace and knowledge of God had gone unfulfilled.

Incredibly, however, over the course of the last seven years, Orthodox Judaism has effectively declared that, with respect to this fundamental issue of principle, Christians were correct all along and Jews profoundly, mistaken. I stress “effectively”: no one has pronounced these exact words, and the identification of Jesus of Nazareth as the messiah remains anathma. Nevertheless, this conclusion fo1lows from two interlocking considerations.

First, a large segment-almost certainly a substantial majority-of a highly significant Orthodox move-ment called Lubavitch, or Chabad, Hasidism affirms that the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, who was laid to rest in June 1994, initiated the authentic messianic mission and will soon return to complete the redemption in his capacity as the messiah.
Second –and far more important– Hasidim who proclaim this belief, including some who have ruled that it is a belief required by Jewish law, routinely hold significant religious posts with the sanction of major Orthodox authorities unconnected with their movement. These range from the offices of the Israeli rabbinate to the ranks of mainstream rabbinical organizations to the chairmanship of rabbinical courts In Israel and elsewhere, not to speak of service as scribes, ritual slaughterers, teachers, and administrators of schools and religious organizations receiving support from mainstream Orthodoxy. For much of Orthodox Jewry, then, the classic boundaries of the messianic faith of Israel are no more.

We are seeing the dissolution of a key distinction between the messianic faiths of Judaism and Christianity. What the messianists had done was not merely to affirm that a deceased descendant of David might theoretically be resurrected as the redeemer. By confidently claiming one such presumed descendant as the messiah, despite his death in an unredeemed world, they had abolished Judaism's bedrock requirements for identifying such an individual. To make matters worse, this same individual had asserted that the cosmic process necessary for redemption was already completed.

The record in such a case leaves no room for ambiguity. Judaism unequivocally rejects the belief that God will send the real messiah to preach that the redemption is arriving “right away” (as the Rebbe certainly did), let alone to identify himself clearly as the redeemer (as the messian-ists believe he did), and then have him die before the fulfillment. The unambiguous criteria that Jews have applied in evaluating such a claim are rooted in the biblical prophecies that define the messianic faith itself. To affirm the messiahship of the deceased Rebbe is to deny a foundational belief of the Jewish religion.

But more was to come. In the fall of 1997, six prominent Chabad rabbis issued a formal ruling that was soon reprinted with a growing number of signatures; by January 2000, it had gathered 150 signatures. Since, according to this ruling the Rebbe had exhibited the qualities of learning and character set by Maimonides for a prophet; since he had issued numerous correct predictions about the Six-Day war, the Gulf war, and other matters; and since, for anyone with eyes to see, he had declared himself both prophet and messiah, one must accept his messiahship as a function of the obligation to obey a prophet.

And still more-much more. From late 1996 through 1997, something began to emerge that many observers have found difficult to digest that they refuse to believe the evidence before them. For a significant number of Lubavitch Hasidim, the Rebbe himself is nothing less than pure divinity.

In the autumn of 1996, a Chabad weekly in Israel printed a revised version of the standard messianist slogan. Instead of reading, “May our master, Teacher, and Rabbi the King Messiah live forever,” it read, “May our Master, Teacher, and Creator, the King Messiah live forever” (emphasis added). A few weeks later, the same publication, citing a mainstream Chabad work published in 1991, declared that it is permissible to bow down to the Rebbe because “his entire essence is divinity alone.”

Noting such Lubavitch doctrines a Christian missionary has recently commented on the irony of Hasidim who continue to be classified as Orthodox Jews despite their belief in a deceased, divine messiah classification based on their messiah's being identified as Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson rather than as Jesus of Nazareth. Regrettably, this author continues, “they have pinned their hopes on the wrong candidate.” In this way-and setting aside the issue of Jewish observance-the deep theological divide between Judaism and Christianity has been reduced to a matter of mistaken identity.
Studying this movement has instructed me, as well, in the divergent ways believers respond to challenges arising from without. And those arising from within, and also caused me to reassess some of my views about the historiography of early Christianity.

To believing Christians and Jews, the significance can be much deeper. For Christian missionaries, Lubvitch messianism –and its effective legitimation by mainstream Orthodox Judaism– is an unanticipated, unearned, but priceless gift. For non-Orthodox Jews, many of whom have long since abandoned the belief in a personal messiah, this affair raises other questions. The afflirmation that a human being is pure divinity should be no less disturbing to Conservative and Reform Jews than to the Orthodox. On the other hand, it is difficult to become too exercised over the question of whether the messiah whom you do not believe has already appeared.

Or is it? By this reasoning, it should not matter whether the messiah, in whom you do not believe is Jesus of Nazareth. But in point of fact this matters very much to all committed Jews. The visceral Jewish opposition to such groups as Jews for Jesus, even when they declare some level of commitment to the Jewish people and Jewish religious law, is not generated solely by the fact that they affirm the divinity of Jesus. Evidently, even those Jews who have rejected the traditional messianic faith do not want those who retain it to permit its Christianization.

And so we conclude with those who have retained that faith. Most Orthodox Jews have not yet awakened to the mortal wounds inflicted during the last seven years upon the millennial Jewish idea of the messiah and the Jewish conception of God. When they do, it is remotely possible that they will act decisively, recognizing the threat to Jewish theology and Jewish practice alike. To this point, however, Orthodox reactions have provided few grounds for optimism. The classical messianic faith of Judaism is dying.

Moshiach

"Moshiach signifies the separation of the good from the evil. This is why he will come "only in a generation which is altogether meritorious or altogether sinful," i.e., at a time in which there will be no mixture of good and evil. So as long as Moshiach has not come, there is a mixture of good and evil in all the worlds: there is no good without evil and no evil without good."

~ Rabbi Shneur Zalman
The Alter Rebbe

The idea of Messiah is not foreign to B'nei Noach.

Considering that the overwhelming majority of B'nei Noach have emerged from Christianity, it is quite certain that the idea of a messiah, or savior, was central in our belief system. Is it possible for those of us who have emerged from Christianity to reconcile our formerly-believed Christian concept of messiah with the Jewish concept, which predates Christianity by several centuries?

Even within ka'al B'nei Noach we find individuals who still struggle to keep their belief in Jesus intact. Instead of believing in the Gentiles' Jesus, they now believe in a Jewish Jesus - and they now call him Yeshua Ha Moshiach (Yeshua the Messiah). They strip away the Christian's Anglo-Saxon garments of Jesus and redress him in a more ethnic Jewish costume. Now Yeshua is introduced as an Orthodox rabbi, complete with tzitzits, tallit, and tefillin. And by doing this to Jesus, they erroneously believe they have rectified the Church's whitewashing of a Jewish Yeshua into a figure called Jesus, and that they have restored the truth to the world.

But have they bothered to ask, "Who is the messiah that the Jews have been looking for?" No. In their struggle to keep their Jesus/Yeshua belief system intact, they have neglected to study Moshiach from the purely Jewish viewpoint. They, in fact, have long forgotten that the idea of Moshiach is an original Jewish concept. Therefore, only the remnant of Torah-observant Jews can make clear to us who Moshiach is, what his responsibilities are, where and when he will ascend the throne of kingship, why he will be crowned King Moshiach, and how all of this will come to pass.

Although the concept of Messiah has always been a part of Judaism, we find greater definition of who the Messiah is, and what the Messianic era is, from the hasidim who are part of the Chabad Lubavitch. Rebbe Menachem Schneerson stressed to the hasidim that we are the generation who will witness the Ultimate Redemption. Examining the Messiah according to Hasidic (Chassidic) thought is a robust challenge, and a storehouse of information is available on the Internet and the World Wide Web. Much, much more can be said regarding Moshiach than what we could ever hope to accomplish on this web page. Therefore, we will be recommending the reader to select certain web links in order to examine the concept of Messiah from a Jewish perspective and gain a greater understanding of the Hasidic concept of Moshiach. You can go to the Study Resources page for these links, or go directly to Chabad Lubavitch in Cyberspace. And on this page we will recommend books concerning Moshiach and the Ultimate Redemption for B'nei Noach to study.

Why Jesus Didn't Qualify.

Notice that this topic was not called - Why the Jews "rejected" Jesus.

1) Christians/Hebrew-Christians claim that the Jews "rejected" Jesus!

They say that we Jews were too stubborn, stiff- necked and that we were blinded to know the truth.
While claiming that Jesus came to the Jew first and that the Jews (for the most part) rejected him, the stage is set for Paul. By the way, many people today feel that it was actually Paul, not Jesus who was responsible for what we know today as Christianity.

** Recently I interviewed a former "Jewish Believer in Jesus" and he put it to me this way- "When the Jews did not accept Jesus, Paul then took the show on the road!" To the Pagans and the Gentiles.

* What actually happened is that the Jews did not REJECT Jesus, he like others before and after him claiming to be Messiah simply DID NOT QUALIFY!

2) Christians and the "Hebrew-Christian" claim: that Jews will not be able to prove who they believe is the real Messiah since the Temple was destroyed along with all authentic genealogies respecting the twelve tribes of Israel have been lost.

A Rabbi who I shared this with said: "When a likely candidate for the position of "Messiah" shows up, we won't have to ask him for a genealogical blood test to find out if he is the messiah or not! Just stop and ask yourself, what are the criteria for the Messiah? What is he supposed to accomplish?

a) Build the 3rd Temple (Ezekiel 37:26-28)
b) Bring all the Jews back to Israel (Isaiah 43:5-6)
c) World Peace (Isaiah 2:4)
d) Universal Knowledge of G-d (the G-d of Israel) (Isaiah 11:9, Jer 31:33)

Not understanding that the Temple was destroyed and it was raised on the third day

Not understanding that the True Messiah will bring back true Israel of faith in Christ Jesus when he returns

Not understanding that Jesus will rule with a rod of Iron

Not understanding that the creator will be here for one thousand years

What the Rabbis Believe About the Messiah

by Dr. Charles Halff

The Prophet Isaiah taught in Chapter 2 that the Messiah would bring peace on earth, but in Chapter 53 he also prophesied that the Messiah would come as the Suffering Servant to make vicarious atonement for sins.

IN THE JEWISH COMMUNITY, THERE HAS ALWAYS been a stream of controversy about the Messiah, but the coming of Jesus turned the trickle into a flood. Still, most Jews and their rabbis have consistently believed a Messiah would come.

Rabbi Moses Maimonides (AD 1135-1204), a pillar of Jewish thought, included belief in Messiah as one of his 13 principles of the Jewish faith. Concerning the Messiah, the Rambam (as he is called) wrote: "I believe with complete faith in the coming of the Messiah, and though He tarry, nonetheless I await Him every day [believing] that He will come."

Messiah Foretold in the Old Testament

From their reading of the Old Testament, the rabbis attest that there are certain signs which the Messiah must fulfill to verify His claims. Even in Jesus' day, the Jewish leaders expected Him to authenticate Himself with signs (Matt. 12:38). Jesus openly declared that His works were fulfillment of Messianic prophecy (Luke 4:16-21).

When John the Baptist's disciples asked whether Jesus was the "expected one" (the Messiah), our Lord did not answer directly, but rather pointed to His miracles as proof (Matt. 11:2-5). His meaning was clear: These were the very signs of the Messiah as foretold in Scripture (Isa. 35:5-6; 61: 1-2).

In another incident, He refuted charges of blasphemy by referring to His miracles. "If I do not the works of my Father, believe me not," He exclaimed, "But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works, . . ." (John 10:37-38). Similarly, John recorded certain miraculous signs in his Gospel to confirm that Jesus was the Messiah (20:30-31).

The Messianic signs, according to rabbis today, include restoration of the Temple in Jerusalem, the ingathering of the Jewish people back to the Promised Land, victory over Israel's enemies, and establishment of peace (shalom) on earth. "Since Jesus did not fulfill the last three of these signs [the Temple was standing during His lifetime], he could not be the Messiah of Israel," say the rabbis.

Such conclusions reveal that the rabbis have not seen the whole picture of the coming Messiah as painted by the words of Scripture. The Prophet Isaiah taught in Chapter 2 that Messiah would bring peace on earth, but in Chapter 53 he also prophesied Messiah as the Suffering Servant to make vicarious atonement for sins.

Clearly, the full Old Testament picture of Messiah includes not only a victorious and righteous ruler, but also a humiliated and despised intercessor. Christians understand Jesus as having fulfilled the signs of the Suffering Servant in His first coming-and believe His promise that He will return again in glory, subdue His enemies, and rule as the righteous King of kings who brings peace on earth.

But the rabbis still do not see Him in the Scriptures because of five false ideas that have dominated their thinking about the Messiah, blinding them to the truth of Jesus' claims.

1. The Messiah will be primarily a political deliverer for the Jews.

The hope for a political deliverer was popular in Jesus' lifetime. As Jesus rode toward Jerusalem and the Temple on Palm Sunday, He was greeted as just such a king. The people thronged Him, laying a carpet of clothes and palm leaves and shouting "Hosanna!" (Redeem us!). When Jerusalem was crushed by the heel of Rome in AD 70, the hunger for a delivering Messiah only intensified.

In their last attempt at a revolt against Rome in AD 132, the Jews rallied behind a hero named Bar Kochba. His name translates as "Son of a Star." The name has Messianic overtones (see Numbers 24:17). Probably for that reason he was hailed as Messiah by the renowned and influential Rabbi Akiba. When Bar Kochba was defeated and slain in battle in AD 135, Akiba's renown and influence slipped considerably among his fellow rabbis.

After Bar Kochba's fall, other rabbis started calculating dates for the Messiah's coming. As those appointed times passed into the dust of history with no sign of the Messiah, the rabbis shifted yet again, pronouncing curses on any who would presume to reckon the time for the Messiah's arrival.

In the Talmud (that post-AD 70 compendium of rabbinical interpretation of biblical law), the concept of Messiah includes many different ideas. According to the Talmudic sages, the Messiah would be a descendant of King David; of exceptional moral character. He would be supernaturally gifted, but in no way divine. His tasks would be primarily political and military: to destroy the Jews' enemies, lead his people from servitude to freedom, and make Israel again the leading world power.

During the Middle Ages, the Messianic concept in Judaism grew even more political. A Jewish nation was a dim memory. The Jews fared badly, wandering homeless, humiliated, and persecuted through the centuries. Despair fed the belief that political deliverance was their greatest and most pressing need.

An unbroken chain of failed "Messiahs" from Bar Kochba to Zevi caused many Jews to look elsewhere. Eighteenth-century rabbis embraced the ideal of delivering themselves and of making their "Promised Land" where they were.

Maimonides, living in exile, summed up rabbinic hopes regarding the Messiah thus: "Israel will return to the land and regain sovereignty under the Messiah. He will be a great king who will bring peace on earth."

2. The Jewish people have little need for the Messiah.

During the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, various Jews claimed to be Messianic leaders. During this time, such false "Messiahs" as David Reubeni and Shabbetai Zevi gathered large followings. Jewish historian H.H. Ben Sasson tells us that the greater part of Jewry was shaken to the core when the widely revered Zevi converted to Islam rather than face death. Zevi's name was erased from communal registers and books because of his abomination, and Messianic fervor declined.

An unbroken chain of failed "Messiahs" from Bar Kochba to Zevi caused many Jews to look in another direction. The eighteenth-century rabbis who began Reform Judaism embraced a different ideal. Since it appeared that God was not going to send a deliverer and bring them to the Promised Land, they would deliver themselves and make their "Promised Land" where they were! They eagerly removed from the Jewish religion all obstacles that might prevent (or even hinder) Jews from finding full acceptance within European and American culture. Some in the Reform movement deleted from the prayer book all passages having to do with the Messiah. They did not want to offend their Gentile neighbors with prayers for a Messiah who would vanquish the Gentile nations and set up His world kingdom with the Jews in Israel.

These rabbis had also embraced (to some degree at least) Enlightenment philosophy, which theologian Karl Barth called "a system founded upon . . . faith in the omnipotence of human ability." The Reform rabbis reasoned that if the Jewish people could somehow bring about peace on earth, the warrior Messiah would be unnecessary. In positive-thinking, eighteenth-century Europe, this belief seemed eminently reasonable and possible.

But despite the well-intentioned compromise, European anti-Semitism festered again in the late eighteenth century, fueling a new Jewish yearning for their own land and state.

False Messiahs are nothing new. During the seventeenth and eighteenth centuries, they were especially prevalent, as in the case of David Reubeni and Shabbetai Zevi, who gathered large followings. The greater part of Jewry was shaken to the core when the widely revered Zevi converted to Islam rather than face death.

This ugly anti-Jewish bigotry surfaced notably during the notorious Dreyfus affair which split France into pro- and anti-Jewish factions. A Jewish French captain, Alfred Dreyfus, falsely accused of selling secret documents to Germany, was sentenced to life imprisonment. Dreyfus eventually was found totally innocent, but the ensuing strife deeply divided French clergy, military, and government. The resulting anti-Semitic atmosphere influenced Austrian Jewish journalist Theodore Herzl to begin the Zionist movement, which gave focus to the long-standing Jewish desire to return to the Promised Land.

Herzl + Samuel Untermier = C.I Scofield's Zionist Dispen-satanlist "Chosen" Master race teachings

With the advent of World War II, as Hitler (Austrian) fanned the anti-Semitic flame into an all-consuming campaign of genocide, the Messianic movement became linked with Zionism.

Hitler was an Austrian imprisoned but released. Hitler was hired to create anti-Semitism to flus the "Lesser" Jews into Palestine as per Balfour-Rothschild Herzl Plan....For their master race plan of the Nasi

Even now, fifty years after the near miraculous re-establishment of the nation of Israel, many Jews believe that the Messianic Age will begin on earth when there is finally peace in Israel.

They shall say Peace, Peace and there shall  be no peace, and when they shall say peace and security, sudden destruction shall fall upon them.

3. The Jewish people are responsible for bringing in the Messiah.

Among Orthodox Jewish groups, some say that the Messiah will reveal Himself to that generation of Jews who show themselves worthy of Him.

This is also the Talmudic Scofield Teaching, the "Secret Rapture" to the select few who god respects

Rabbis of this mind-set teach that the Jewish nation can bring the Messiah's arrival nearer by yearning every moment for His coming, by keeping the Sabbath for two consecutive weeks, and/or by repenting of their sins. Activities and attitudes like these, they say, ensure the soon coming of the Messiah.

By works alone

An ultra-Orthodox Jewish sect known as Chabad (or Lubavitch) has recently been a champion of the belief that the Jews are responsible to bring the Messiah by their works (attitudes and actions). In its literature, Chabad encourages Jewish people to follow the commandments of the Torah strictly, and openly proclaim their desire for the Messiah to come.

A few years ago, many Chabad members called for their leader, Rabbi Menachem Schneerson, to declare himself Messiah-despite his lack of Davidic descent. Since the 91-year-old rabbi's death in June 1994, this Messianic desire has been abandoned, though for a short while, some of his followers expected him to return from the dead. As he did not, many Chabadniks now believe their leader died because the Jewish people were not yet worthy.

4. The Jewish Scriptures speak of two different Messiahs.

The Jewish Bible (the Old Testament) contains over three hundred prophetic passages referring to the Messiah. Though all these speak of a single individual, Messianic prophecy portrays both a suffering and a ruling Messiah. Attempting to resolve this paradox, some Talmudic rabbis argued that the prophets probably spoke of two separate Messiahs.

The Messiah who was to suffer and die for the sins of others was termed the "Son of Joseph" after the Genesis account of righteous Joseph who was humiliated and tormented as a youth and sold into slavery by his brothers, and who later saved his family. Another Messiah who would reign in power was designated the "Son of David." This second Messiah would raise the first Messiah from the dead, and then establish the Messianic kingdom of peace on earth.

The rabbis ignored that the Scripture never stated, nor even hinted, that there would be two Messiahs. Furthermore, they overlooked the fact that many of these "contradictory" prophecies of a suffering and a ruling Messiah are found side by side in the same passage, as in Isaiah 52:13-14.

For centuries, Orthodox Judaism argued for the two-Messiah theory. But in time, the Messiah referred to as the Son of David became predominant in the Jewish heart and mind, because this Messiah represented the strength and dignity for which the Jews yearned. Messiah, the Son of Joseph, was ignored, and was resurrected only when an explanation was needed for the suffering Messiah passages. What the rabbis could not-or would not-concede was the possibility of one Messiah coming twice. This option was unacceptable because, What if Jesus was that first coming?

5. Messianic prophecy refers to the nation, not to an individual.

Some rabbis have argued that the "suffering Messiah" passages refer, not to a person, but to the suffering Jewish people as a whole, who were to serve as a "light to the nations," bringing the knowledge of God and salvation to the Gentiles (Isa. 42:6, 49:6). But some Messianic passages, such as Isaiah 9:6 and 53:5, become confusing and nonsensical if applied to a whole people. In Isaiah 53:5 we read: "But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed." Now, "our transgressions" clearly refers to Israel. Isaiah was a Jew writing to Jews. So, how could Israel be bruised for itself?

Backed into a Corner, Facing Jesus

The rabbis have tried hard. They really have! They have looked for Messiah after Messiah, followed plan after plan-but they have looked in vain (and still do), because He has already come! United in stubborn denial of the truth, the rabbinical community (and most Jews) have missed their own Messiah.

How and why could this have happened? The clearest answer is spelled out in Isaiah 29:10-14. As punishment for disobedience, hypocrisy, and failure to be God's holy people (see Exodus 19:5-6), the Jewish nation was struck by God with a spiritual blindness. This curse has rendered even their leaders and wise men unable to make sense of the Jewish Scriptures. Furthermore, they are oblivious to their blindness.

The prevailing view among many Jews is that the Messianic Age will begin on earth only when there is peace in Israel--a peace that has thus far eluded them.

The Jews did not fail to see or know their Messiah because they were stupid or unlearned in the Bible, but because spiritual things must be spiritually discerned (1 Cor. 2:14); and as pointed out, the Jews have been spiritually blinded. We should not be surprised if the Jews have ignored or misinterpreted the Old Testament teachings on the Messiah and His mission to bring salvation to His people.

Beloved, there is no question that Jesus is the true Messiah. Even the Jewish leaders in His day acknowledged He was a miracle worker who healed the lame, made the blind see, cleansed lepers, and made the deaf hear (see Luke 13:10). They also knew He was a teacher come from God (John 3:1-2). He performed His miracles before crowds of hundreds and thousands (Matt. 14:14-21). His Resurrection from the dead was His last and greatest sign, far outshining all those performed during His life. In an indisputable sign of His divinity and Messiahship, the gloriously risen Christ showed Himself to over 500 people (1 Cor. 15:6).

This message of salvation through faith in Jesus the Messiah has been entrusted to us. It is a light that can break through even the blindness of the Jew, and of the Gentile also (2 Cor. 4:1-7).

Beloved, do you have a friend, colleague, or relative who does not recognize Jesus as the Messiah of Israel? Perhaps God selected you as the very witness to tell this person about Jesus, our Saviour and Lord. We know salvation is of God, who has sovereignly chosen those who will come to Him. But God has also ordained that we be used in that glorious work, commanding believers to fulfill the great commission of evangelism (Matt. 28: 19-20).

What a privilege and sacred trust we have--to spread light in darkness, so the blind may see! What a joy to reach out to the lost, including the blinded House of Israel, whose stumbling has blessed the world (Rom. 11:11). Please join me now, beloved, in returning that blessing by telling them about Jesus, their Jewish Messiah.

The "Talmud" as a source.
Part 1: Babylonian Talmud
Part 2: Jerusalem Talmud

The "Talmud" as a source.

Pro-names groups and individuals sometimes cite "the Talmud" to prove the pro-names arguments. In considering the Talmud as an authoratitive source, it becomes important to understand just exactly what the Talmud is and how the Jews view it. After all, they wrote it, preserved it (partially), and for centuries have criticized, modified and argued it.
The following statement, made by a Professor of Hebrew, is from a pro-names web site:

The Names Yeshua and Yehoshua
by Dr. James Price, Professor of Hebrew [Temple Baptist Seminary, Chattanooga, TN]
"As far as the Talmud is concerned, it is evident that the old uncensored editions of the Talmud associated Jesus of Nazareth with the name Joshua. This is demonstrated by the following passage:
Sotah 47a: Our Rabbis have taught: Always let the left hand thrust away and the right hand draw near. Not like Elisha who thrust Gehazi away with both his hands (and not like "Joshua b. Perahiah who thrust one of his disciples away with both his hands). 11
Here, the editor's footnote reads:
[(11) MSS. And old editions read Jesus the Nazarene. . . .]"

Here we have a Professor of the Hebrew language, quoting the Talmud to demonstrate that the Jews knew "Jesus" as "Joshua". This contradicts the arguments about the "name" being hidden or removed from scripture.
Dr. Price goes on to state:

"(1) In the Greek Translation of the OT known as the Septuagint (LXX), the name Joshua is rendered *Iasous*=Jesus. (2) In the NT, Joshua is mentioned twice (Acts 7:45; Heb 4:8), and in both places the Greek NT spells the name *Iasous*= Jesus. Thus the Greek *Iasous* is the equivalent of Hebrew *Yehoshua*."
(Source: http://www.corp.direct.ca/trinity/yehoshua.html )

This same Professor of Hebrew states that "Jesus" is the "equivalent of Joshua". This contradicts the pro-names argument that "Jesus" originated from the pagan name "Zeus". It also demonstrates the "translation" of names, a practice which the pro-names groups say can't be done.

Part 1: Babylonian Talmud:

What is Talmud Bavli (Babylonian Talmud)?

The Talmud Bavli (BT) is the Mishna plus the Babylonian gemara. It is much more complete than the Talmud Yerushalmi (JT), and the redaction is much more careful and precise. Still, it is by no means complete. The gemara only exists for 37 out of the 63 tractates of the Mishna. Why did these tractates remain without gemara in BT? The traditional answer is that the laws of Zeraim and Toharot (except Niddah) had no practical relevance; The agricultural laws were tied only to the land of Israel. In the diaspora these laws simply were of no use. The purity laws (except for family purity) were no longer applicable, because there was no longer a Temple and sacrificial system. One might think then that there would be no BT gemara on Qodashim - but there is. This is probably because the study of the sacrificial regulations is generally thought of as being on par with actually performing sacrifices.

In the usual printed editions, the BT comprises the full Mishna, the 37 gemaras, and the extra-canonical (minor) tractates; This comprises 5,894 pages, and is much more extensive than the JT.

The overall character of BT is encyclopedic. Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz states:
The Talmud is the repository of thousands of years of Jewish wisdom. And the Oral Law, which is as ancient and significant as the Written Law (Torah), finds expression therein. It is a conglomerate of law, legend, and philosophy, a blend of unique logic and shrewd pragmatism, of history and science, anecdote and humor.

Part 2: Jerusalem Talmud

What is Talmud Yerushalmi (Jerusalem Talmud)?

The Talmud Yerushalmi, also known as the Jerusalem Talmud (JT), the Palestinian Talmud, Talmud Eretz Yisrael (Talmud of the Land of Israel) and Gemara de Eretz Yisrael, is the Mishna plus the Yerushalmi gemara. It is interesting to note that the JT that we have today is missing a huge amount of material. There is only commentary for the first four orders of the Mishna; The rest has somehow been lost to history. The JT gemara is also missing for tractate Avot and Eduyot, parts of Toharot and other sections as well. Despite extensive scholarship, it still is unclear why this material was not included in the final redaction of the JT.

Rabbi Yohanan bar Nappaha was the main redactor of the JT. It was redacted around 500 to 550 CE. Additionally, the name 'Jerusalem Talmud' is a misnomer, as it was most likely written in Northern Israel, specifically Tiberias.
In general, whenever the JT contradicts the Babylonian Talmud (BT), the law follows the BT. Only on matters where BT is silent or unclear does the authority of the JT prevail.
The absence of numerous Mishna tractates and chapters, the numerous self contradictions, as well as other internal evidence, suggests that the JT was _not_ in fact redacted in the proper sense of the word, but rather was a hasty collection of material. Many scholars believe that the reason for the ultimate acceptance of the BT rather than the JT had a lot to do with the power struggles between the two Jewish communities. Thus it can be argued that the poor preservation of the JT may be a result of its rejection rather than its cause.

_______

If you are Judeo-Churchiscofieldzioianfreemasonnoahides

Then you should purchase the oral tradition of Talmud Bavli Mishnah Torah and throw your bible away for you are become anti-Christ

For here is how they justify Jesus Crucifixion and Christianity, by saying that Jesus was a hoax

1 - The first of these figures was "Yeshu," (who was also called "Yeshu ha-Notzri -- the Nazarene -- and lived c.100 BCE) whose father was known as Pandera (in Greek -- Panderos). Little is known of Yeshu Ben Pandera, and all information that mentions him are based on the Tosefta and the Baraitas, writings made at the same time as the Mishna. The small amount of information contained in the Baraitas is as follows: Rabbi Yehoshua ben Perachyah once repelled Yeshu with both hands. People believed that Yeshu was a sorcerer and they considered him to be the individual who led the Jews astray. As a result of charges brought against him (the details of which are not known), Yeshu was stoned and his body hung up on the eve of Passover (in accordance with the Talmud Sanhedrin 43a). Before this, he was paraded around for forty days with a herald going in front of him announcing that he would be stoned and calling for people to come forward to plead for him. Nothing was brought forward in his favor, however. Yeshu had five known disciples, two of which hold the same names as Jesus' disciples: Mattai (Matthew) and Todah (Thaddaeus).

The early Christians were also aware of the name "ben Pandeira" for Jesus. The pagan philosopher Celsus, who was famous for his arguments against Christianity, claimed (178 CE) that he had heard from a Jew that Jesus' mother, Mary, had been divorced by her husband, a carpenter, after it had been proved that she was an adulteress. She wandered about in shame and bore Jesus in secret. His real father was a Roman soldier named Pantheras. According to the Christian writer Epiphanius (c.320-403 CE), the Christian apologist Origen (c.185-254 CE) had claimed that "Panther" was the nickname for Jacob, the father of Joseph, the stepfather of Jesus. It should be noted that Origen's claim is not based on any historical information. It is purely a conjecture aimed at explaining away the Pantheras story of Celsus.

In summary, The Talmud relates that this Yeshu incited many Jews to deviate from Judaism and was therefore put to death for doing so.

2 - The other figure mentioned by the Talmud is Yeshu "Ben-Stada" (son of Stada). All the information we have on ben Stada (also known as ben Sotera or ben Sotira) comes from the same sources concerning Yeshu, and there is less information on ben Stada than about Yeshu. Various beliefs surrounded ben Stada -- some claiming he was a madman, others claiming he was a spell-master, and some claiming he was a beguiler. This Yeshu was the illegitimate son of a woman (Miriam ("Mary") bat Bilgah) who committed adultery with a Roman soldier. The name "Stada" in Aramaic comes from "Sta Da" -- "she deviated."

Two Figures Become One

Within the Talmud Shabbos 104, the gemara explicitly discusses the mother being Stada and the father being Pandera. Thus, Yeshu ben Stada was also Yeshu ben Pandera. There is no contradiction since the word "Stada" is not an explicit person but a description of the woman, Miriam. Jesus is commonly referred to in the Talmud by the expressions "ben Stada" and "ben Pandera," however, in the Jerusalem Talmud (Avodah Zerah II 40d), the full name is given as Yeshu ben Pandera; and in the Tosefta on Hullin II, the full name is given as Yeshu ben Pantera. Further, the Yeshu who was hanged on the eve of Passover (Sanhedrin 43a) is also called ben Stada (Sanhedrin 67a). It is evident that, in both these places, the same person is spoken of. Here these two passages may be considered conclusive, since they repeat each other using similar language, and in a section of the text which is chiefly concerned about Jesus.

The mother of ben Pandera is said to be Miriam, the woman's hairdresser. This story is further expanded upon in the Tosefta, where this Mary, the woman's hairdresser, is said to have lived in the Second Temple period, when she was the mother of a "certain person."

It is entirely possible, therefore, that the historical Jesus was based on the above figure mentioned within the Talmud. It is possible that the figure was well known among the early Christians and they decided to combine the two and change the story in order to attribute divine qualities to the savior they so longed for.

Then they bring Moshiach ben satan as their messiah

"...according to the known Jewish ruling that Christians are idol worshippers." (Likkutei Sichos 37:198)

A gentile...is liable for the death penalty...if he has invented a religious holiday for himself...The general principle is we do not allow them to make new religious rituals and to make 'mitzvahs' for themselves by their own devices. Rather they may either become a Ger Tzeddek and accept all the Mitvahs; or he (the Noahide) should stand fast in his Torah (the seven Noahide Laws) without adding or diminishing...and if he does make some new 'mitzvah,' we lash him, punish him, and inform him that he is obligated with the death penalty for this..." (Rambam Mishne Torah—Hilchos Melachim 10:9)

"...it is however obvious that if it will be perceived by them (the nations), also the matter of the negation of shituf, until they even have some recognition of the Unity of Hashem—that 'there is nothing else besides Him'; this will add both in their carefulness and meticulousness in fulfilling the seven Noahide Laws [with all of their ramifications!] and also in their aiding of Jewish people in all of their matters pertaining to Yiddishkeit and all of their needs in general..." (Likkutei Sichos 25: YudTes Kislev)

"Any person who has already worked successfully in this area should try to influence other Jews to do likewise. Chaim Clorfene and Yakov Rogalsky

Applicability of the Seven Laws, permission to observe other laws of the Torah, permission and prohibition to learn Torah; proper intention concerning performance of Seven Laws; honoring parents; charity; interbreeding animals; grafting plants; circumcision; creating religions or new religious ritual observance; having children; burial

1. With respect to God's commandments, all of humanity is divided into two general classifications: the Children of Israel and the Children of Noah.

2. The Children of Israel are the Jews, the descendants of the Patriarch Jacob. They are commanded to fulfill the 613 Commandments of the Torah.

*The Chosen Master Race, who chose another, other than the ONE who "Chose Them for Salvation" and the Obedient Goyim Noahide slaves to their Olam Ha Ba, "New One World Order" of  master race without Jesus Christ

3. The Children of Noah comprise the seventy original nations of the world and their branches. They are commanded concerning the Seven Universal Laws, also known as the Seven Laws of the Children of Noah or the Seven Noahide Laws.[1] These Seven Universal Laws pertain to idolatry, blasphemy, murder, theft, sexual relations, eating the limb of a living animal, and establishing courts of law.

*Made Public Law in 1991, HJR 102-14...102nd Congress

4. All Seven Universal Laws are prohibitions. Do not wonder at this. Negative commandments are of a higher order than positive commandments, and their fulfillment, which takes more effort than positive commandments, earns a greater reward.

*I am quite positive that I did not vote in favor, nor did I vote for any of the scum in Washington D.C (devils court)

5. Men and women are equal in their responsibility to observe the seven commandments.[2]

*Equal opportunity

6. It is a matter of dispute as to when a person becomes responsible for his or her actions under these laws. One opinion holds that it depends on the intellectual development of the individual.[3] According to this opinion, as soon as a child has attained the maturity to understand the meaning and significance of the Seven Universal Laws, he is obligated to the fullest extent of the law. The other opinion is that a boy reaches the age of legal responsibility at his thirteenth birthday and a girl at her twelfth birthday.[4]

*Criminalize Children, but hey, that alright, Jesus said suffer not the little children to come unto me.

7. The Children of Noah are permanently warned concerning the Seven Universal Laws. This means that ignorance of the law is not a valid defense. One cannot claim, for example, that he did not know that idolatry was one of the seven commandments. Nor can he claim that he did not know that bowing down to an idol constitutes idolatry. (He can, however, claim that he did not know that such‑and‑such was an idol, for this is not ignorance of the law.) Therefore, one is duty bound to study the Seven Universal Laws to the best of one's ability and to teach the knowledge of them to one's children.

8. When one of the Children of Noah resolves to fulfill the Seven Universal Commandments, his or her soul is elevated. This person becomes one of the Chasidei Umot ha‑Olam, the Pious Ones of the Nations, and receives a share of the Eternal World.[5] The Holy Scriptures call one who accepts the yoke of fulfilling the Seven Universal Laws a ger toshav, a proselyte of the gate. This person is permitted to live in the Land of Israel and to enter the Holy Temple in Jerusalem and to offer sacrifices to the God of Israel.[6]

Gifted with all the benefits of the flesh Talmudic Jewry and their g-d Moshiach ben satan

9. Although the Children of Noah are commanded only concerning the Seven Universal Commandments, they are permitted to observe any of the 613 Commandments of the Torah for the sake of receiving divine reward.[7] The exceptions to this are:[8]

a.    Observing the Sabbath in the manner of the Jews (resting from the actions that were needed for the building of the Tabernacle during the Exodus from Egypt)

Slaves have no rest

b.    Observing the Jewish holy days in the manner of the Jews (resting in a similar manner to the Sabbath)

For you are not of the "Master Race"

c.    Studying those parts of the Torah that do not apply to the Noahides’ service of God

Noahides should not learn the Mystical Magik of Qaballah

d.    Writing a Torah scroll (the Five Books of Moses) or receiving an aliyah to the Torah (reading a portion of the Torah at a public gathering)

for these be of the gods

e.    Making, writing, or wearing tefilin, the phylacteries worn during prayer that contain portions of the Torah

Thank you...thank you....thank you...very very much

f.     Writing or affixing a mezuzah, the parchment containing portions of the Torah, to one's doorposts or gateposts

You may hang it in the out house.

(Note: A prime purpose of the Seven Universal Laws is to teach the Children of Noah about the Oneness of God, and therefore those parts of Torah that pertain to this knowledge are permissible for him to study. This includes the entirety of the twenty‑four books of the Hebrew Scriptures. Also, the study of any part of the Torah that brings one to greater knowledge concerning the performance of the Seven Noahide Commandments is permissible. But Talmudic or Halakhic study of subjects that pertain exclusively to the Jew's service of God is forbidden. The Noahide who studies portions of the Torah that do not pertain to him damages his soul.[9])

No New Testament, then it is easy to see why the soul is damaged when abiding in the oral tradition of Mishnah Torah of Talmud Bavli the perversion of evil.

10. If a Noahide is striving in the learning of Torah or keeping the Sabbath in the manner of Jews or reveals new aspects of Torah, he may be physically restrained and informed that he is liable for capital punishment, but is not put to death.

He is just liable......yeah right....the deceptions of Satan's snares continue, for he is the father of all lies, the great Liar

(Note: The action taken against him is only meant to dissuade him from doing forbidden acts. If the court that is established in consonance with the Seven Universal Laws gives the death penalty to a Noahide, the execution is an atonement for this person's transgression, and consequently one who transgresses and is punished by the court can merit a portion in the World to Come.[10] Furthermore, the Noahide must experience reincarnation to be able to atone for transgressions he had done.)

Joy...Joy...you must go through the cleansing ritual of decapitation, so that for your own good, you can be purged of your evil inclination and return as a new born demon....joy....joy.....

11. The responsibility of The Seven Noahide Laws is a yoke of faith in God. This means that the laws must be observed solely because God commanded them. If the Children of Noah observe these Seven Universal Laws for any reason or intention other than to fulfill God's will, the performance is invalid and no divine reward is received. This means that if one of the Children of Noah says, "These laws seem sensible and beneficial, therefore I will observe them," his actions accomplish nothing and he receives no reward.[11]

YOU Must freely accept this Law of Satan, and you must freely accept Satan and his Mark and His system the Olam Ha Ba, to be truly of him, who is become the temporary god of this world. Thus they totally agree with scripture, the Revelation of Christ Jesus to John his servant.

12. When one of the Children of Noah engages in the study of the Seven Universal Laws, he is able to attain a spiritual level higher than the High Priest of the Jews, who alone has the sanctity to enter the Holy of Holies in the Temple in Jerusalem. [12]

Satan wants the followers of Jesus Christ to denounce Jesus, then he will heap his rewards, temporary, for the person who denounces Jesus will be denounced by Jesus Christ the Lord.

13. If one of the Children of Noah wishes to accept the full responsibility of the Torah and the 613 Commandments, he or she can convert and become a Jew in every respect.

Regardless of color, nationality, creed...any can become a Jew for the fear of the Jews, who are flesh and "SAY" they are Jew, but are not the seed of Abraham by faith in Christ Jesus. Jewry is a religion unto Lucifer and has nothing to do with nationality, for their are Jews of every race on earth in flesh. True Israel are they who are in faith of the ONLY LIVING GOD, Christ Jesus.

One who elects to do this is called a ger tzedek, a righteous proselyte.

Mt:23:15:

Woe unto you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! for ye compass sea and land to make one proselyte, and when he is made, ye make him twofold more the child of hell than yourselves.

[13] It is a principle of Judaism, however, not to seek converts, and one who requests conversion is generally discouraged. Should the person persist in the desire to convert, counsel should be taken only with an Orthodox rabbi or scholar, for conversion not in accord with Halakha, Torah Law, is no conversion at all, and conversion supervised and bestowed by rabbis who themselves do not follow the laws of the Torah (ORAL) are null and void, neither recognized in heaven nor by any God‑fearing Jew.

14. It is incorrect to think that since the Children of Israel have 613 Commandments and the Children of Noah have seven commandments, the ratio of spiritual worth is proportionally 613 to seven. The truth is that the Seven Universal Laws are general commandments, each containing many parts and details, whereas the 613 Commandments of the Torah are specific, each relating to one basic detail of the Divine Law. Therefore, the numerical disparity in no way reflects the relative spiritual worth of the two systems of commandments.

Weak attempt to ease the burden of the Talmudic Noahide Laws of the Talmudic Pharisees yoke of Satan

[14] The prime difference in the service of the Israelite and that of the Noahide is that the Noahide sees the existence of existence, that is, he refines the world, whereas the Israelite sees the non‑existence of existence, that is, he reveals the Godliness in the world. Of course, refining the world reveals its inherent Godliness and revealing Godliness automatically refines the world.

The Gentile sees Jesus Christ, the Talmudic Jew sees fables of mysticism.

15. The statutory punishment for transgressing any one of the Seven Laws of Noah is capital punishment.

Talmud Bavli, the Law book of Satan's oral tradition which voids the WORD of God.

Melakhim, ch. 9, 10). One additional element of greater severity is that violation of any one of the seven laws

subjects the Noachide to capital punishment by decapitation (Sanh. 57a).

[15] According to some, punishment is the same whether one transgresses with knowledge of the law or is ignorant of the law. [16] According to others, a transgressor of the Noahide Law who is ignorant of the law receives the death penalty only in the case of murder. [17]

And their Law is written at the 102nd Congress, HJR Public Law 102-14, Universal Noahide Laws

16. If the courts cannot punish an individual for lack of witnesses or any other reason (see the chapter on Courts of Law), the transgressor will be punished by Divine Decree. [18]

Temples and synagogues by councils...beth dins and freemason Noahide Judges and Liars..ooops, Lawyers. Scribes and Pharisees.

17. Besides the Seven Universal Commandments, the Children of Noah have traditionally taken it upon themselves to fulfill the commandment of honoring father and mother. [19] (see the chapter on Honoring Father and Mother).

18. Some authorities are of the opinion that the Children of Noah are obligated to fulfill the commandment of giving charity. [20] Others state that it is proper and meritorious for the Children of Noah to give charity but that it is not actually commanded of them. [21]

Charity to Jews, through 501-C3 Judeo- Churchizionian robbers of Gods people, the wovles of Malachi.... and the private corporation, Internal Revenue and the Private Talmudic ran Federal Reserve....

19. If a Noahide who follows the Seven Universal Laws gives charity, the Israelites accept it from him and give it to the poor of Israel, since through the merit of giving charity to the poor among the Jewish people one is given life by God and saved from death. But a Noahide who does not accept the yoke of the Seven Noahide Laws and gives charity is not permitted to give it to the needy of Israel. His charity may be given to poor Noahides only.

Before his death? By decapitation?

20. If one of the Children of Noah arises and performs a miracle and says that God sent him, then instructs others to add to or subtract from any of the Seven Universal Laws or explains them in a way not heard at Mount Sinai, or claims that the 613 Commandments given to the Jews are not eternal, but limited to a fixed period of time, this person is deemed a false prophet and incurs the death penalty.[22]

By Crucifixion? See the WORD of GOD.

21. There is an oral tradition that the Children of Noah are forbidden to interbreed animals of different species or to graft trees of different kinds,[23] although some authorities hold that they are permitted to do either.[24] However, they may wear shaatnez (clothing containing both wool and linen) and they may plant different seeds such as grape and wheat in the same field, which are acts forbidden to Jews. [25] Forbidden interbreeding and grafting are not punishable in courts of law.

Now, go figure, one says this and one Illuminated rabbi scribe says that, will the SOOOOPreme Talmudic Court hear my case on the confusion of the house of Satan when they deliver me to be afflicted and slain for not bowing down to their Satanic Talmudic g-d?

22. The Sages of Israel state that Children of Ketura (the sons of Abraham's concubine, Hagar) who were born after Ishmael and Isaac must by law be circumcised. Since today the descendants of Ishmael are intermixed with the descendants of the other sons of Hagar, all are obligated to be circumcised on the eighth day after they are born. Those transgressing this are not liable for the death penalty.[26] This law applies only to Semitic peoples, although all other nations are allowed to circumcise if they desire.

The very same thin the Apostle Paul warned about regarding the Circumcision and Peter the disciple of Christ, alread the Judeo-Churchizionians were infiltrated into Christianity, Iniquity doth alread work.

23. One opinion holds that only the six sons of Hagar and not their descendants were obligated to be circumcised.[27]

Decapitated by the confusion of who is right and who is wrong, a perfect system already set up for the confused house of the Talmudic Supreme Court Judges.

24. In accord with the Seven Universal Commandments, man is enjoined against creating any religion based on his own intellect. He either develops religion based on these Divine Laws or becomes a righteous proselyte, a Jew, and accepts all 613 commandments of the Torah.[28]

Out with any American Holidays in with complete fear of the Jews religion unto Satan.

(Note: Concerning making holidays for themselves, Noahides may participate in the celebration of certain Jewish holidays, such as Shavuot, celebrating the Giving of the Torah, since the Children of Noah received their commandments at the same time, or Rosh Hashanah, the Jewish New Year and Day of Judgment, since all mankind is judged by God on that day, so it should therefore be important to the Noahide as well as the Israelite. Rosh Hashanah is also the day that Adam, the First Man, was created by God, and all mankind is descended from Adam just as it is from Noah.[29] Even these, however, the Noahide celebrates only in order to bring additional merit and reward to himself, and he may not rest in the manner of the Jews.

There, they said it...all mankind are in the Image of Noah who is in the image of Adam who is in the Image of the Creator, Christ Jesus, only in faith of the creator have salvation, and not by the curse of the Talmudic yoke of Lucifer...

Moreover, the Noahide is strictly forbidden to create a new holiday that has religious significance and claim that it is part of his own religion, even if the religion is the observance of the Seven Noahide Laws. For example, it would be forbidden to make a holiday celebrating the subsiding of the waters of the Flood of Noah or anything of the like. And, all the more so, it would be forbidden to institute holidays that ascribe religious significance to events outside the purview of the Seven Noahide Commandments. Celebrating secular activities and commemorating historical events, even if they involve a festive meal, are permissible.)

25. The nations of the world acknowledge the existence of God and they do not transgress the will of God.

All whose names are not written in the Lamb's Book of Life Slain since the foundation of the World, will worship the Beast. Whom they have made the god of this world.

Their failing is an inability to be nullified to God, and they deny His Oneness by thinking that they themselves are separate entities, calling Him the God of gods.

Didn;t they themselves, call themselves gods in their Laws? Don't they call a strange god, GOD? Don't they call Elohim God? Plural gods?

Therefore, we find that when they transgress the Seven Noahide Commandments, it is only because the spirit of folly enters them and covers the truth, concealing it from them.

There fore, if you do not fall down and worship the Babylonian god, and stand firm for the Testimony of the Living God of Israel, the Creator God, who Abraham, Isaac and Jacob and the Prophets of God the Most High knew, and the God of the disciples and the God of the saints, Christ Jesus, the WORD of God, made flesh, you will be in "FOLLY"

[30] But from their essential being, they are not able to transgress the Will of God. Therefore, even Balaam, the wicked prophet who had sexual relations with an animal, his ass, which is a clear transgression of the Seven Noahide Laws, said, "I am not able to transgress the word of God" (Num. 22:18).

And In Talmud Bavli they attribute Jesus Christ of Nazareth to Balaam.

26. The commandment to be fruitful and multiply was given to Noah, but inasmuch as it was not repeated at Mount Sinai, this commandment is not considered part of the Seven Universal Laws.[31] However, the Children of Noah have the obligation to make the whole earth a dwelling place for mankind.

In Talmud Bavli they say only JEWS are mankind, Goyim are animals, though have comfort, a higher animal than the lesser animals.

[32] This is minimally achieved by every couple giving birth to a male and a female child who are in turn capable of reproduction.[33] Moreover, the couple that bears more children is credited with bringing more spiritual goodness into the world, assuming that these children are reared in an environment of morality by fulfilling the Seven Universal Laws.

Feminism. Slavery of female Goyim for the pleasures of the Master Race supreme little gods who "SAY" they are jews but who do Lie and are not of the seed of Abraham by faith in Christ Jesus, True Israel of the TRUE LIVING GOD.

27. A Noahide who strikes an Israelite causing even a slight wound, though he is theoretically condemned for this, does not receive the death penalty.[34]

Whoooooooooopie!

28. When a Noahide dies, he is to be buried in the earth, "for out of it were you taken; for you are dust and unto dust you shall return" (Gen. 3:19). This does not mean that the Children of Noah transgress one of the Seven Commandments by utilizing another process such as cremation or cryogenic preservation, but they will lack the atonement that burial in the earth accomplishes.[35]

The Jew just reaches Holistic consciousness and is elevated to a higher sphere of godhood?

29. By observing the Seven Universal Laws, mankind is given the means by which it can perfect itself.

Only Jesus Christ is perfect, all men are sinners, all have fallen short of the Glory of God. Only by faith given by grace of God the Father, washed in ther Blood of the Lamb that Everlasting and Holy Covenant which was spoken of by the Prophets of God, can man ever hope to have everlasting life.

The individual, through these laws, has the power to refine his essential being, and can reach higher and higher without limit.

Try as you may, you will forever be wrteched and blind, without Christ Jesus, and will never enter into the house of the Lord through the back side of the gate.

For it is written, "I call heaven and earth to bear witness, that any individual, man or woman, Jew or Gentile, freeman or slave, can have the Holy Spirit bestowed upon him. It all depends on his deeds."[36] And it is also written, "Ultimately, all is understood: fear God and observe His commandments, for this is the completion of man" (Eccles. 12:13).

Eccles. 12:13

13: Let us hear the conclusion of the whole matter: Fear God, and keep his commandments: for this is the whole duty of man.

And who is God, the Father the Word and the Holy Spirit are One? And before Abraham Iam. And I am the Alpha and the Omega the Beginning and the ending, the Word, made flesh, dwelled with man, the Lamb sent as Promised the Covenant everlasting to Issac? The Word which hath Created everything? The Father and the Son are One God, Jesus Christ the Creator, the Lord Almighty, the same today as yesterday and forever, the same God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. The Same Lord as Moses Knew. The God that the Builders rejected, the Lamb Christ Jesus. DO NOT BE DECEIVED by their Talmudic Scofield gods and the Pontifex Maximus of Babylon's false Christian Church gods, their Satanic Trinity of false gods, for there is only ONE GOD the CREATOR Jesus the Expressed image of himself in heaven, Lo the Mystery of Christ Jesus manifes in his saints who believe the TRUTH.

Iraqis Vow Revenge As
Hatred Of US Grows
By Alan Philps in Falluja
The Telegraph - UK
5-2-3

Hatred of the Americans is boiling on the streets of Falluja, where Iraqis lobbed grenades into the US military compound yesterday, wounding seven and damaging vehicles.

All over the town were banners calling on the Americans to go, while local people shook their fists at foreigners, vowing to take revenge.

Outside the mayor's office, which is next to the American compound, staff had hung an uncompromising banner: "Sooner or later, US killers, we will kick you out."

According to the mayor, Taha Bedeiwi, who is recognised by the US forces, 20 people have been shot dead by the Americans so far - 16 in a late-night incident on Monday and four more when a US convoy clashed with stone-throwing demonstrators on Wednesday.

The Americans insist that gunmen among the demonstrators fired first both times. Iraqis support this in the first incident but all the evidence for Wednesday's shooting is that it came in response only to some stone throwing. Witnesses said that the gunner of a Humvee fired his machinegun at the crowd, while ducking down inside the vehicle.

The Americans now find themselves in a blood feud with much of the city, which under Islamic law can be ended only by the payment of compensation.

"We demand compensation from the Americans, but we also demand our town back," said Sheikh Khalaf Abed el-Shebib, leader of one of the 35 clans that make up the town.

Searching for the ugliest comparison he could find, he said: "Even in Israel they do not shoot children in such numbers when they throw stones in a demonstration."

After appeals from the US military, the tribal and religious leaders ordered a break from demonstrations yesterday, but the town was braced for more trouble after Friday prayers today.

The town has offered peace with the Americans if they pull out of the centre and set up a post at the railway station from where they can mount patrols.

But the crisis seems beyond such a simple solution, now that religious and social passions have been inflamed.

The soldiers, in their helmets, body armour and gadgetry slung from neck, belt and thigh, look like warriors from a video game. Unlike the British troops in Basra, they have made no attempt to establish eye contact with the local people or talk to anyone except the mayor and his officials.

The 82nd Airborne - one of the toughest elements in the US military - is ill-equipped to control crowds. The soldiers have no tear gas, and to disperse the first demonstration outside a school they were occupying they fired smoke grenades - a dangerous weapon in a country where everyone knows that the Saddam regime used poison gas.

The 82nd Airborne is now moving out, to be replaced by other units.

It is a deeply confusing situation and nowhere is the split personality of the Iraqis after the fall of Saddam more visible than in the mayor's office.

During a news conference the mayor admitted that there were "bad elements" in the crowds, a phrase his interpreter chose to translate as "patriots". After the mayor had finished speaking, an aide emerged to tell journalists to ignore everything the interpreter had said.

The mayor is a mystery to the Americans. He was chosen by the local tribal and religious leaders after the fall of the Saddam regime, claiming he had been persecuted and driven into exile.

However, local people say that he is a rich man who spent five months in the United Arab Emirates, not a political exile. Getting to the bottom of this will be a learning experience for the Americans.

A British officer commented: "They rely too much on technology and hide behind their defences. They have to get out and meet the people and really find out what is going on."

Rumours Abound Of
SARS Link To BioWeapons

The Straits Times
5-1-3

BEIJING (AFP) -- The mounting death toll exacted by Sars in China has triggered speculation that the virus could ultimately be traced back to a leak from military bio-weapon programmes.

Although most reports favour a natural origin for Sars, a bio-weapon link should not be ruled out, according to Mr Richard Fisher, a senior fellow at the Jamestown Foundation, a Washington-based think-tank.

'While there is no reported evidence that Sars is indeed a weapon, there are plenty of ways that a real weapon with the properties of Sars could prove decisive in a military conflict,' he said.

Chinese dissident Wei Jingsheng, in an opinion piece published in the International Herald Tribune this week, cited rumours circulating in China such as the idea 'that Sars emanated from China's biological weapons research facilities'.

Many analysts consider a link between Sars and bio-weapons far-fetched.

Ms Stephanie Lieggi, an East Asia expert at the California-based Centre for Nonproliferation Studies, said: 'I have seen nothing in recent reports that would support any connection between Sars and biological weapons.'

Another argument against the theory is the low kill ratio associated with Sars. And although it is transmitted relatively easily, it seems to be less contagious than most known viral bio-weapons, according to experts.

But it is exactly the innocuous nature of Sars that could make it militarily useful for someone wanting to sow panic and prompt political instability, Mr Fisher argued.

'A seemingly 'natural' epidemic would lessen suspicion of the main 'enemy state' by the target country and its main allies,' he said.

The theory that Sars was a leaked weapon would depend on the existence of an offensive biological weapon programme in China.

According to US intelligence sources, the People's Liberation Army does have an offensive programme, although it appears to have been scaled down over the past two decades.

The Institute of Military Medicine near Beijing has been engaged in, at the minimum, defensive research.

But overseas analysts do not know for sure whether China envisages the use of biological weapons in future wars.

The war is over (except for Iraq)

As Bush prepares to announce an end to hostilities today, more Iraqis are killed by American troops

By Phil Reeves in Fallujah, Iraq

01 May 2003

President George Bush will declare tonight the war in Iraq is all but over. But his speech, far out at sea – aboard the aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln, which is heading back fro
