A catastrophe ominously looms on the horizon. Planet X, a huge planetary body, or star, is headed our way. Described as a great "Red Star," the path of this approaching, heavenly object puts it on a potential, head-to-head collision course with our planet, Earth.

If you haven't heretofore heard of the mysterious and deadly Planet X—so-called because it is said to be a newly discovered yet ancient tenth planet for our solar system—believe me, you will very soon. Doomsayers are predicting the marauding planet's elliptical orbit will bring it near to the earth by this spring or summer.

 

Smashing Into Earth

One book recently published predicts Planet X will smash into, or blindside, the Earth soon, within the next few months, causing untold chaos, with the Earth literally tilting on its axis. The ensuing upheaval will spawn horrific hurricanes and unparalleled tornadoes, floods, and volcanic blowouts, and leave other planetary calamities in its wake.

Many pseudo-astronomers and perennial astronomical doomsayers point to Zechariah Sitchin's works in which the British scientist/author alleges that a planet named "Nibiru," which travels an orbit from the other side of Pluto to earth on a 3,600 year cycle, causes manifold disasters each time it makes a pass. They say this is now the time for Nibiru to return.

Some cite other names for Planet X, including "Wormwood." This is prophetic since the Holy Bible does, in fact, prophesy catastrophic earth changes to occur due to a star by this name:

And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp…And the name of the star is called Wormwood…and many men died…

(Revelation 8:10-11)

While the more dramatic accounts forecast Planet X's arrival later this year, some maintain the shattering specter will occur later, in 2004, 2006, 2012 (the last year on the Mayan calendar), or even 2078. Others claim it could be thousands or even millions of years before the tenth planet orbits near Earth once again.

Surprisingly, a number of professional astronomers at the world's top observatories share the view that there is a tenth planet out in space. Scientific reports conclude that the gravitational pull of this tenth planet, a planet not now observable by most telescopes, is already disturbing the heavens and causing what the astronomers call "perturbation."

Planet X and The Secret Doctrine

Significantly, Freemasonry and the occult world have long awaited the arrival of Planet X. The occultists, in their Secret Doctrine, teach that the ancients once worshipped gods and deities, mighty men of reknown, who came to Earth from the heavens, from a planet star called Sirius.

The Egyptians knew this star, Sirius, as Dogon, the "Dog Star" and worshipped it under its guise as Anubis, the jackal-headed god. From its name were also derived the names of the chief deities of the Egyptian religion and culture, Osiris (Lord of the underworld) and Isis (the star goddess).

Noah and The Giants

Amazingly, the Holy Bible, in Genesis 6, describes an early time in the days of Noah when these star gods—in reality, Satan and the fallen angels, the Nephilim—committed the abomination of mating with the daughters of men, producing hideous hybrid. These supernatural offspring the Bible calls "giants." It was because of the unimaginable wickedness and sin of these hybrid man/beast "giants" that God decided to cause a flood to overflow the earth and destroy them all. Only Noah, whose blood and DNA were unpolluted, and his family survived the great flood.

The myths of the pagan religions of Sumeria, Babylon, and Egypt often told of lizard-like, reptilian ancient astronauts visiting earth, mating with women, and worshipped by ancient mankind as powerful gods and goddesses. Now, many New Age teachers and occultists are gladfully and expectantly proclaiming the soon return of these strange hybrid "dieties."

Yet, for whatever reason, God permitted a small number of the Nephilim to appear again years after the Noahic flood, and in Deuteronomy these monstrous, half-human creatures are called the Anakim, or Rephaim (literally—the "Congregation of the Dead!")

What's more, the Scriptures prophesy the return of these satanic mighty men, these evil "giants," in the last days. Yet, not as gods, but as devils! In Matthew 24:37-39, Jesus warned that as it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be when Christ comes once again. Moreover, the return out of the abyss of these "stars" fallen from heaven shall be accompanied by incredible, mind-boggling signs in the heavens. As for Earth, the prophet Isaiah prophesied that mountains shall fall down and the planet will "reel to and fro like a drunkard."

Worse, even as one tragedy after another exacts its bloody toll on humanity, the Bible tells of the powerful beings who shall be unleashed from the bottomless pit and come abroad to torment men and women. Described with frightening impact in Revelation 9, these entities have a Star, or "King," over them, "which is the angel of the bottomless pit." Indeed, Satan himself shall be their leader of these "fallen ones."

Now, as we near that ominous, prophesied Last Day signaling our Lord's coming, false religions such as Mormonism and Scientology, and Illuministic secret societies such as Freemasonry, the O.T.O., The Priory of Sion, and the Order of the Solar Temple, loudly and cheerfully are proclaiming the return of their star gods, to accompany the approach of the Sirian-related, star planet Nibiru, more better known as Planet X.

 

Increasingly, we are being inundated with tales and accounts of UFO abductions, alleging that men and women are being taken into spacecraft and sexually used to create human/extraterrestrial hybrid beings. Does this have some connection to the Genesis, Chapter 6 account?

Amalek represents the ultimate barrier to the revelation of G-dliness within the physical world. Its descendants have, for thirty-three continuous centuries, carried on their scheming and machinations to rid the world of Jews and Jewish influence. The very presence of Torah in our realm represents an influence that refines and elevates the gentile nations and all physical elements, preparing for the day when Moshiach arrives to lead a purified world. The Amaleki conspire to send the Torah back into the heavens and reduce the world back to the darkest, most primitive state of idolatry and evil.

Judaism has always been a conquering religion, not for the purpose of converting gentiles to become Jews, but rather with the mission of returning the world to the universal covenant between G-d and Noah. For halachic (Law)  reasons too numerous and detailed to list here, gentiles today who follow Christianity, Islam, or other religions are not, for the most part, "righteous gentiles" who inherit the World to Come. But when the Temple was destroyed, the Jews had to influence the gentiles in a more quiet, gradual manner. Although causing the gentiles to observe the Seven Noachide Laws is itself one of the 613 mitzvos of the Torah, the exile at times sank to such depths of harshness and oppression that Jews simply could not fulfill this mitzvah for fear of death. In such times, Judaism was forced to adapt itself to mere survival; conquest was simply out of the question.

2) In the second stage, the growing Noachide movement will seize political power-( Demise of the Demon-Crats)-using only peaceful, lawful means--in the capitals of the Western nations. This, of course, will not take place until the Noachide society has grown to some threshold size. We do not know how large this needs to be nor which nations will join the revolution first, although the United States, as a fairly religious, conservative nation, certainly tops the list of prospects.

Upon seizing the reins of government, the new Noachide (Freemason)  leaders will move quickly to implement a full agenda of reform. The birthday celebration kickoff was combined with a "memorial service" for those who died at the Pentagon on 9-11. Rabbi Meilech Silberberg by Elizabeth Applebaum A directive issued more than 800 years ago by Maimonides is becoming a reality today in Detroit, where an Orthodox rabbi is teaching the Noahide Laws to a gentile group. Once a month, Rabbi Meilech Silberberg of the Chabad House of West Bloomfield meets with the group, all Protestant men, to study the seven laws the Talmud calls the minimum necessity for a civilized society. 

These statutes forbid murder, theft, worshipping false gods, cursing G-d, incest and adultery and call for the establishment of laws and courts of justice. Maimonides said that it is incumbent upon Jews as Moses' representatives to compel the inhabitants of the world to accept the Noahide Laws; Rabbi Silberberg explained, "It is a commandment; it is a mitzva."

The group held its first meeting recently at Dove Booksellers, a Detroit store specializing in academic biblical studies. Beside shelves filled with titles like Discoveries in the Judean Desert, The Text of the Old Testament and A History of the Hebrew Language, sat seven students, including the store's owners, John Marine and Richard Vore, who convened the class. Mr. Vore became interested in studying with Rabbi Silberberg several years ago, when the rabbi was teaching a course in the building where Mr. Vore worked as an accountant. Long interested in theology, Mr. Vore said he was eager for the opportunity to learn about Judaism with an Orthodox rabbi. "Study to the Jew is sacred and to me it's sacred, too," he said. 

Mr. Vore was disappointed to learn that he could not join the class. The Talmud does not permit gentiles to study Torah, Rabbi Silberberg said.

Prompted by a directive from the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, to teach the Noahide Laws, Rabbi Silberberg decided to begin a class for Mr. Vore and other interested gentiles. Speaking before the group, Rabbi Silberberg explained why, despite Maimonides' assertion, so few Jews have been involved in teaching the Noahide Laws.

 Up until 420 B.C.E. when the First Temple was destroyed, Jews actively promoted the Noahide Laws. Gentiles who accepted them were permitted to enter the Temple and bring sacrifices there. Seventy years later when the Temple was destroyed, Jews were dispersed to Babylonia and Persia, and the teaching of the Noahide Laws was all but forgotten.

Despite these obstacles, the "obligation for gentiles to accept the Noahide Laws remains intact," said Rabbi Silberberg. Maimonides said non-Jews who accept these laws merit a place in the World to Come.

 Rabbi Silberberg noted that Maimonides,(Top Dog Pharisee) in his encyclopedia on Jewish law, discusses the Noahide Laws in a chapter preceding one which treats the coming of the Messiah.(Moshiach, falsechrist) "As Jews, we believe the coming of the Moshiach is imminent," he said. "So it becomes our duty now to spread the word of the Noahide Laws to the gentiles of the world.

He cannot be motivated by humanistic ideals which teach that it's simply wrong to kill or steal. "Our ultimate goal is to recognize the G-d who commands us." Rabbi Silberberg also discussed the first Noahide Law, which forbids the worship of false gods. Maimonides maintains that the Christian belief in Jesus violates this commandment. Other Jewish scholars have stated that if Christians accept Jesus but believe that only one, true G-d may be worshipped, they have not transgressed the law. "I understand he (Rabbi Silberberg) isn't going to pull any punches," Mr. Vore said. "But we all know that starkness is backed by learning." MOSCOW -- Russian Jewish leaders are speaking out against what is being seen as the Kremlin's most serious attempt yet to decide who represents the country's Jews.

When the Lubavitch movement's chief rabbi in Russia was named last week to a high-profile Kremlin advisory panel that includes leaders of all religions officially recognized by the Russian government, it might have seemed completely predictable.

After all, Rabbi Berel Lazar and the Lubavitch movement have been favored by the Russian government since President Vladimir Putin first became prime minister in 1999.

But Russian Jewish leaders are increasingly worried about the Kremlin's meddling in already-fractious Jewish affairs, including supporting Lazar at the expense of Russia's other chief rabbi, Adolph Shayevich, and the increasingly close ties between Jewish businessman-and Lubavitch backer- Lev Levayev and the Kremlin.

Lazar's elevation to the advisory body indicates that in the eyes of Russian authorities, he speaks for Russian Jewry.

"Jews are becoming the hostages of non-Jewish interests," said Roman Spector, a leader of the Vaad, a secular Jewish organization.

What this latest development forebodes for Russia's 600,000 Jews is still unclear. But some observers worry that Russian Jewish life is becoming less stable as it becomes more tied to personal relationships between powerful Jews and the Kremlin.

"By replacing one Jewish leader with another, the Kremlin is deliberately provoking divisions within the Jewish community," Micah Naftalin, the national director of the Washington-based Union of Councils for Soviet Jews, said in a statement. "What gives the government the right to decide which of these chief rabbis is legitimate?

They should both have a seat on that council, because they both represent important segments of the community."

The Kremlin's boosting of Lazar and its simultaneous attacks on Shayevich are intertwined with Kremlin attacks on Russian Jewish leader Vladimir Goussinsky, many observers say.

Goussinsky, whose Russian Jewish Congress is aligned with Shayevich, has been the subject of a yearlong Kremlin campaign on charges of fraud and embezzlement. Many say the campaign is Putin's angry response to the Russian Jewish tycoon's outspoken opposition to Russia's war in Chechnya.

The Kremlin appears to be winning the battle against Goussinsky. Most recently, Goussinsky, who is in Spain fighting possible extradition to Russia, resigned as president of the RJC, saying that his legal battle prevented him from carrying out his community duties.

Now, the regime-and the Lubavitch movement-are stepping up their campaign against Shayevich. In an interview with JTA, Shayevich said the Lubavitch movement recently offered him $1,500 a month and the position of honorary chief rabbi if he agreed to give up his post at Moscow's Choral Synagogue, one of Moscow's leading synagogues.

Shayevich says he refused the offer.

Meanwhile, Lazar denied cooperating with the Kremlin to promote his group. He also said the government should not meddle in Jewish affairs.

Avrohom Berkowitz, the executive director of the Lubavitch Federation of Jewish Communities of the former Soviet Union, says the movement wants to see all Jewish groups collaborate on rebuilding Russian Jewry.

Lubavitch officials also say Shayevich should be removed because they represent a majority of Jewish communities in Russia-a claim that is difficult to prove.

Some Jewish leaders aren't happy about the Kremlin campaign.

"Shayevich was legally elected," says Zinovy Kogan, the leader of Reform Judaism in Russia and an ally of Shayevich. "We don't need state-planted rabbis, especially foreign-born and not good Russian-speakers."

The irony is that Shayevich, 63, was once a state-approved rabbi.

In the beginning of the 1980s, when Shayevich returned from Hungary and became chief rabbi of the Choral Synagogue, many Jewish activists suspected him of cooperating with the KGB.

But Shayevich only cooperated enough to avoid suspicion and never handed over lists-demanded by the KGB-of Jews married or circumcised at the synagogue, according to someone who worked at the synagogue in the 1980s.

Eventually, the low-key Shayevich became a consensus figure for the squabble-prone Russian Jewish movement-at least until Putin took office.

Nestled into a hillside on Leroy Place in downtown Washington D.C., adjacent to the Embassy of Guinea and a few steps from the Nepalese and Colombian delegations, sits a diplomatic mission of a different sort.

The flag flying high outside this four-story, refurbished brick building could easily be mistaken for the mark of an African or Asian embassy, dozens of which dot the upscale, tree-lined area. But this particular flag is no country's emblem. It is the symbol of American Friends of Lubavitch - the dynamic Brooklyn-based hassidic movement also known as Habad.

The heart of Embassy Row might seem like an unconventional place for the Lubavitch movement's Washington headquarters, but Rabbi Levi Shemtov, the Washington director, is hardly a conventional guy. And given the nature of his job, the location could not be more appropriate.

For seven years the 32-year-old father of four from Philadelphia has carried out Habad's traditional mission of making Judaism available to the unaffiliated, especially to young, time-strapped Jewish congressional aides who, swept up in Washington's political whirlwind, frequently lose touch with their heritage.

"In political Washington, it's very easy to get caught up in your day job," says Ari Fleischer, Republican presidential nominee George W. Bush's spokesman, who met Shemtov while working for a Republican senator from New Mexico. "Your focus can wander from your religion. He made it easy for me to find even more of a Jewish life on the Hill."

Adds Thomas Kahn, House Budget Committee Democratic Staff Director and a frequent guest at Shemtov's Shabbat dinners, which famously bring together Jews who could be natural political adversaries on CNN's Crossfire during the week: "There's nobody who is more widely respected and warmly received in Congress, the administration, and the diplomatic corps. A large part of it is just his force of personality and also a tribute to Habad."

But beyond reaching out to staffers, spreading yiddeshkeit via construction of a succa and menora on the National Mall, hosting an annual Purim reading on Capitol Hill, or offering High Holiday services free of charge or membership fee, Shemtov has become known both as a fixture on the diplomatic circuit and one of the most savvy politicos in town.

"If he didn't have a faith-based calling," says Fleischer "he would be one of the premier lobbyists."

SHEMTOV'S FUNCTIONS seem limitless. Some days he can be seen in the halls of Congress, cornering a legislator on an issue of concern to one of the 560 Lubavitch centers spread across the US. On other occasions, he arranges meetings between legislators and Habad visitors from their home state, or helps a puzzled senator's aide draft an appropriate greeting to send for the opening of a new synagogue or yeshiva somewhere.

But even more often his eye, or, more precisely, his ear (his mobile and office phones provide a constant blare), is attuned to problems facing shlihim abroad, emissaries of the Habad movement, from Lithuania to Latin America, who were sent by the late Lubavitcher Rebbe Menachem Mendel Schneerson, to sustain Jewish communities in some of the most remote parts of the planet.

These troubles have led him to accumulate a Palm Pilot-full of contacts that have nearly exceeded the machine's two-megabyte memory capacity and to nurture relationships with dozens of ambassadors and State Department officials - and have turned him into a regular, if not obligatory, invitee to dozens of dinners, soirees, and ceremonies around town each week.

"In a certain sense he plays a role of quasi-diplomat," says Nathan Diament, director of the Union of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of America.

Until last year, Shemtov held most of his power meetings over a meal at home, or at the Jewish Community Center's dairy restaurant. Then the first kosher meat restaurant, L'Etoile, opened in D.C., where Shemtov can be seen four or five times a week at his specially-reserved table.

"Shmoozing," Shemtov says, "is one of the most important things you have to know how to do in D.C."

Talk to Republican and Democratic congressmen (both Jewish and non-Jewish), ambassadors, State Department officials, policy wonks, and Jewish leaders envious of his access to people of power, and they will all tell you the same thing: he is one of the best political operators in town. So good that Democratic vice presidential nominee, Senator Joseph Lieberman - who referred lovingly to Shemtov as a "younger brother" - quipped memorably at the opening of the new Chabad building last year, "As I watch you negotiate the various politicians, my gratitude is that you didn't move to Connecticut and decide to go into politics."

IT IS a typical Monday in Shemtov's office, only today he has asked his assistant to hold all calls, except one from his father Avraham. Before Levi moved to D.C. in 1993, his father ran the operation from his base in Philadelphia, visiting once or twice a week, sometimes accompanied by his son.

Inside his sun-drenched office, one finds a casual mix of the ethereal and the earthly. Jewish texts and writings of the rebbe are stacked neatly on a bookshelf that features photos of Shemtov alongside politicians including former Republican Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, a close personal friend. On the walls are pictures of Shemtov and a bipartisan array of other VIPs including President Bill Clinton, Vice President Al Gore, and former prime minister Binyamin Netanyahu.

A new super-slim Samsung computer monitor, a gift from his Australia-born wife Nechama, sits atop his beautiful, dark wood desk. Beside it lies a charger for the cell phone that hangs on his belt beside his pager.

Shemtov's assistant enters hurriedly and places a paper with a sketch on his desk.

"I think it has to have the honey dripping into a shofar," Shemtov points out, running his finger across a draft of an advertisement for Rosh Hashana services that will run in local newspapers - just one of the many details that pack Shemtov's days and nights.

One day in Shemtov's office illustrates the sometimes chaotic nature of his work.

Five minutes after he sits down, the phone rings. It is the Habad emissary in Uzbekistan asking Shemtov when he is coming to visit.

A few months ago the Uzbekistan government would only grant the Lubavitch a 30-day visa. Aware of the problem, Shemtov invited the foreign minister to a catered lunch when he was in town. At the meeting, Shemtov recalled his special fondness for Uzbekistan, through which his family had escaped the Nazi genocide. He brought up the visa problem, an issue about which the minister had gotten an earful during meetings at the National Security Council, the State Department, and the American Embassy in Tashkent.

THE FOREIGN minister promised to take care of it and the next morning the shaliah in Uzbekistan called Shemtov to thank him. He had received a visa for one year.

The next call is from Moscow, wondering if Shemtov will be coming to the dedication of the new Lubavitch community center with featured speaker, President Vladimir Putin. Shemtov pulls out a massive file on Moscow, and eyes a note to himself on his desk, a reminder to get a letter of congratulations from Republican Congressman Ben Gilman and Democratic Congressman Sam Gejdenson to take with him on the trip, a small but crucial detail, he says.

"They were there to condemn the Russian government when things were wrong, so now we should ask them for congratulations when things are right," he says.

From beneath the pile of papers, Shemtov pulls out a pamphlet on the October conference on looted assets to be held in Lithuania, which he is considering attending. But he has more than Holocaust-era property on his mind.

The Lubavitch rabbi in Vilnius is struggling with local authorities to reclaim a synagogue/school that was seized by the Nazis, which is now owned by the government. Roughly 120 Jewish children study in a different piece of prime real estate in the center of town, which the Lubavitch would happily trade for the old synagogue. Shemtov will lunch with the Lithuanian ambassador tomorrow to see if he really needs to make the trip.

Next up: Slovakia. Residents in Bratislava, which does not yet have enough children to establish its own school, want to send them to religious institutions in nearby Vienna while still receiving credit from the Slovak school system. To do so, the Education Minister needs to give a waiver. In a few hours, Shemtov will attend a reception sponsored by the Slovak embassy to try to sort things out, but a trip will probably be in order.

Next week's schedule is starting to take shape. Moscow on Monday. Tuesday to Ukraine for a separate yeshiva dedication. Wednesday night to Bratislava.

Thursday to Vienna and Friday back home in time for the Sabbath, complete with services and 20 guests for dinner. As the day progresses, calls come in from a different set of time zones. One from Chile, about an attempt by Latin American Habad branches to put together an anti-poverty network, is followed by another from Argentina, about the upcoming Argentine president's visit to Washington. Then a local matter - a New York rabbi wants to arrange a weekend for Jewish singles in D.C. after the High Holy Days.

WHILE intrigued by politics as a boy, Shemtov's interest in the intersection of religion and public life began in Australia, where he studied for his smicha, or religious ordination. At only 19, he organized a massive Hanuka celebration to coincide with Australia's bicentennial. haftorah: The Torah (5 Books of Moses) is divided into weekly reading segments called Parshas or Sedras. There was a time when the Sabbath reading of these Sedras was prohibited. The Sages of old thereupon selected certain segments from the Book of Prophets which alluded to the forbidden Torah Parshas thereby reminding the congregation of what would have been read from the Torah. This custom was continued even after Torah reading was re-permitted.

Navi: literally means Prophet but is a reference in this case to the Book of Prophets.

I recently sent an e-mail around pointing out that there are quite a few sources in Torah which seem to suggest that we have entered this phase of the redemption with the World Trade Center bombing and subsequent war. Below you will find a copy of that e-mail with some source corrections and additional material.

The "hollalim" are described as so completely evil that they are considered insane. If you look at the targum [translation]of the word "hollalim", you will discover that it is "Talibanim" (The actual verb form is m'talevin or m'talevun.). If you look in the commentaries of the Radak and the Meiri on chapters 75 and 76 mentioned above, it is discovered that these two chapters are discussing the conclusion of the war of Gog U'Magog specifically. It mentions that the "hollalim" [Taliban]will reside in fortified mountain strongholds. Interestingly, the Me'Am Lo'ez on the song at the Red Sea mentions in passing that these people (whom he identifies as the nation of Magog itself) were defeated and imprisoned in this region by Alexander the Great and that they won't escape from there to wreak havoc on the world until the time of the redemption.

The perfect imperfect scheme of the sons of the synagogue of satan. It is because of this momentous transformation, from slavery to liberation, that Nissan is also referred to as the first month: "This month shall be for you the beginning of the months, it is the first for you of the months of the year" (Exodus 12:2).

Isn't it amazing that according to the book, Chesed L'Avraham, the resurrection of the dead would follow on the heels of the passing of the year 5760. It relates this to the idea of the filling of a mikvah and says this will be the process of "removing the tumah" from the world.

It is no surprise that the actual war started (the bombs started to drop) in Afghanistan at 9:30 PM on the night of Hoshanna Rabbah, the time when the final judgement on the nations of the world is sealed and execution begun. It is also worth noting that the Radak is specific in referring to this as Gog MiGog (Gog from Gog) and not Gog U'Magog (Gog and Magog). It is also worth noting that this leader is described by the Radak as the Nasi of Meshech and Tuval. These two roots refer to extreme attraction (as in hamshacha) to materialism and incredible material wealth (like teval). In other words, Gog MiGog is the leader of the most materialistic and wealthy nation on earth.(USA) Is there any question what nation that is?
In a broader context, the Trade Center bombing which precipitated this event occurred during the days of "cheshbon hanefesh" at the end of the month of Elul. Each of the last 12 days of the year corresponds with a month of the year. The first day of the cycle with Tishrei, second day with Cheshvan and so on. These days are a time of reflecting on the previous year and what was lacking in the previous year and what we will correct in the coming year. Just as we perform this mitzvah, so does HaShem. This is in keeping with the posuk, "He tells His words to Yaacov and His judgements to Yisroel". The commandments are not only ours to fulfill, they are HaShem's too.

The period of the Gulf War coincided with what is referred to in Torah and in particular in the Maamar HaGeulah of Rabbi Moshe Chaim Luzzato, as the Pekidah. In this context it is worth noting that in the chapter of Yoel cited above (Yoel 4:10) the same expression used by Isaiah is repeated. It would be expected that the same type of activity would be characteristic in this final conflict. Isn't it amazing that the western media is going out of their way to emphasize that the military is dropping bombs as well as food and medicine in this conflict!

The entire WORD of GOD speaks of ONE creator, Christ Jesus the Olny Lord God Almighty, the Savior, the redeemer, the Lamb Provided, the Alpha and the Omega, whom they reject. Only a remnant of them  who call themselves flesh Jews will fall down and give glory to God the Most high and mourn for him whom they have pierced. These will become spiritual Jews, only by the Grace of God through faith of Salvation which the Prophets prophesied.

The son of the first President Bush (George from George) is picking up where his father left off. Most of the players in the first administration are the actual players in the current situation. It is important to note that the President and most of the world including the gentile nations turned to HaShem in prayer and repentance following the Trade Center attack. Some people don't like to look at the Zohar as literal or physical but on this particular section, Rabbi Moshe Cordevero in his commentary Or Yakar says that all of this happens both on a spiritual level and physically. All the commentaries I have seen then make reference to sections explaining resurrection for additional details on what takes place.
As is discussed in many places within the Torah and in particular in the first Chassidic discourse given by the Rebbe Yosef Yitzchok Schneersohn, shlit"a, Reishit Goyim Amalek, once the head of the nations, Amalek, is taken care of, the rest of the nations will be uplifted.

The children of Israel are about to set foot into the land of Israel, which is heavily populated by several different nations. After being defeated in war, they are not permitted to "regret" or change their minds and say: Wait, we made a mistake and we are willing to give up and accept the first option. Here, the Abarbenel has taught us a tremendous lesson by entering the psyche of the conquered nation. Will 'Reshape' Mideast

(AFP) -- Israel was bracing for what its army chief predicted will be an "earthquake" in the region if the United States attacks Iraq, amid fears of more Palestinian attacks inside Israel.

 

As the US administration was pounding the drums of war louder by the day, General Moshe Yaalon warned that a US offensive on Iraq would drastically reshape the region whatever the outcome.

 

"In the coming weeks, an US attack in Iraq will trigger a regional earthquake, which will reshape" the Middle East, Yaalon said in an interview with the top-selling Yediot Aharonot daily.

 

"A successful US offensive will have positive consequences, by strengthening the pragmatic elements in the region," he explained Friday.

 

"However, if it is perceived as a failure, it will have negative consequences for us," Yaalon added in reference to Israel's conflict with the Palestinians.

 

Despite the ongoing violence of the 28-month Palestinian uprising, Israel's attention was very much focused on the looming threat of war only 250 miles (402 kilometres) from its borders.

 

On Wednesday, US Secretary of State Colin Powell presented to the UN Security Council what he called "irrefutable" evidence that Iraqi President Saddam Hussein had flouted UN resolutions and had not destroyed his alleged weapons of mass destruction.

 

Israeli analysts said after Powell's key address that the conflict was now a certainty and that it could start within days.

 

Both the Jewish state and its Arab neighbours fear the other could take advantage of a conflict to forward its goals.

 

Beirut expressed its fears Thursday that Israel will "exploit a war in the region to expel Palestinians to Lebanon," while the Palestinians have also stressed the risk of seeing Israel use the Iraqi conflict to deport Palestinian leader Yasser Arafat.

 

On Friday, Israel also hinted that it was expecting more attacks inside Israel by radical Palestinian groups.

 

After Israeli security forces foiled a planned Palestinian suicide attack inside Israel, a spokesman for Prime Minister Ariel Sharon told AFP that Israel was preparing for a fresh spate of Palestinian suicide attacks.

 

"This story is an example of the various Palestinian organisations' determination to carry out a spectacular attack in Israel," Avi Pazner told AFP.

 

He was referring to the arrest Thursday night of two militants from the hardline Islamic Jihad group at a surprise roadblock between Nablus and Tulkarem in the northern West Bank.

 

According to police sources, they were on their way to carrying out a suicide bombing on the other side of the Green Line and the explosives belt which was meant to be used for the attack was found in a mosque in an Israeli Arab town north of Tel Aviv.

 

The incident was likely to put further pressure on already strained relations between Israel's Jewish and Arab communities and came two days after a Bedouin mosque in the southern Negev Desert was demolished by the army on the grounds that it had been built illegally.

 

In the Gaza Strip, the Israeli army continued its crackdown on the Palestinians, destroying several buildings in the central town of Deir al-Balah, Palestinian security sources said.

 

Early on Friday morning, three Israeli bulldozers backed by armoured vehicles staged a brief incursion in the autonomous area adjacent to the Jewish settlement of Kfar Darom and demolished a building which used to house the local Palestinian intelligence services, they said.

The army also demolished two shops and razed farmland, the sources added. in a continuation of the controversial policy which the army says is carried out for security reasons but many local and international rights groups denounce as collective punishment.

Prelude to War

In 1990, Hussein was preoccupied with Kuwait (one of the Persian Gulf states the British had carved out in the 1920s), which severely limited Iraq’s access to the Gulf. Not only did that tiny country demand repayment of war loans, but it had also been slant-drilling and siphoning oil from Iraqi territory.

Saddam Hussein had reason to believe that the U.S.A. still backed him. After all, the C.I.A. had helped install him as dictator of Iraq in 1963, and the U.S.A. had supplied him with arms, including chemical and biological weapons, during the war with Iran (1980-1988).

 

 

On airing his concerns to U. S. Ambassador April Glaspie in July, Hussein was encouraged by her response. She told Hussein that Washington had "no opinion on Arab-Arab conflicts, like your border disagreement with Kuwait," a statement, she said later, she regretted.

 

In September 1990, Glaspie told the New York Times, "We didn’t think he’d take all of Kuwait."

The Invasion of Kuwait

As early as April of 1990, both Kuwaiti and American intelligence services were aware of Iraqi invasion plans, and American policy-makers were informed several days beforehand, but there were no public pronouncements or warnings to Hussein.

 

 

When Iraqi tanks rolled into Kuwait on August 2, 1990, President George Bush Senior compared the invasion to Nazi Germany’s occupation of the Rhineland.

Exploiting the Crisis

 

The first President Bush, aided by Dick Cheney, Paul Wolfowitz, and Colin Powell, now jumped at the opportunity to justify a more militaristic foreign policy.

 

 

Bush proposed "a new world order--free from the threat of terror." The United States would lead a coalition against the aggressor.

Arab leaders suggested a compromise: allow Iraq to annex a small segment of Kuwait after withdrawal. The administration refused that offer and all others, not because the plans were unreasonable, but because the Bush administration had decided on a war designed to enhance American power in the oil-rich Mideast.

Fake Satellite Photos

In early January, Hussein’s troops began to withdraw from Kuwait, but the Pentagon claimed to have satellite photographs showing an enormous buildup of Iraqi forces and weapons, 250,000 Iraqi troops and 1500 tanks massing in the desert for their impending attack on Saudi Arabia. This announcements stunned the anti-war protesters, and world opinion gradually shifted, although no one saw the alleged photos, which were, of course, classified.

 

Jean Heller, an ace journalist from the St. Petersburg Times in Florida, persuaded her editors to buy two photos from the Russian commercial satellite, the Soyuz Karta, taken September 11 and September 13. The photos proved that the entire Iraqi airforce was parked in Riyadh and that Iraqi troops were nowhere to be found massing in the desert. The editors asked two former Defense Intelligence Agency analysts to examine the photos. They, too, were surprised that the pictures showed American jets arrayed on the Saudi Arabian border but no troops at all on the Kuwaiti border.

 

Peter Zimmerman, a satellite expert at George Washington University, said,

 

"We could see clearly the main road leading right through Kuwait, south to Saudi Arabia, but it was covered with sand banks from the wind and it was clear that no army had moved over it. We could see empty barracks where you would have expected these thousands of troops to be billeted, but they were deserted as well."

Then a strange thing happened. Major news organizations, including Newsweek, the Chicago Tribune, and ABC, perused the photos but decided not to publish a story that would contradict the government’s information. The Iraqi military buildup, which did not exist, was Bush’s justification for dispatching troops, yet the American media refused to expose the government’s lie. The only honest American journalists were in St. Petersburg, Florida.

 

After the war, the House Armed Services Committee concluded that at the beginning of the ground war in February, the Iraqi troops numbered 183,000, not the 250,000 "discovered" by the Pentagon satellite.

She had witnessed Iraqi soldiers looting incubators to take back to Baghdad, throwing Kuwaiti babies on "the cold floor to die."

 

This story, told and retold, incensed the public and congress as nothing else had done. The Senate resolution to go to war passed by five votes. Six senators said the baby-incubator story had overcome their reluctance to send troops.

 

 

Months later, Nayirah was exposed as the daughter of the Kuwaiti ambassador to Washington. She had no connection to the Al Adnan hospital, as nurses there would testify. She and several other "witnesses" had been coached by the Hill and Knowlton public relations firm, which had a contract worth over $10,000,000 with the Kuwaiti government.

 

Brent Scowcroft, Bush’s national security adviser, later said in an interview with the Guardian that the administration had not known at the time that the story was false. He admitted that "it was useful in mobilizing public opinion."

 

Fake Statistics

 

After the war, Bush’s Secretary of Defense Dick Cheney said that the government did not know and probably would never know how many Iraqi casualties resulted from the Gulf War.

 

 

Beth Osborne Daponte, a Commerce Department demographer, prepared a report estimating that 13,000 civilians were killed by allied forces, 70,000 civilians died from infrastructure damage, and 40,000 troops were killed in battle. Her supervisors dismissed her, confiscated her report, and issued a new one with much lower estimates of Iraqi mortality rates.

 

Later, after Beth Osborne won her appeal and had been reinstated in her job, U.S. officials provided higher estimates: 100,000 Iraqi soldiers killed, 300,000 wounded, and 2,500 to 3,000 Iraqi civilians killed by bombing. International organizations estimated that the war created 5,000,000 refugees and that sanctions had killed more than 500,000 Iraqi children.

 

A Grateful Nation

Returning Gulf War veterans experienced the same government obstinacy that Vietnam veterans had run into when they reported illnesses caused by chemical warfare agents. After both wars, the U. S. government insisted that the veterans’ symptoms were psychological and had no known physical cause. After both wars, even sympathetic Veterans Administration physicians were ordered to treat such claims as stress related. As recently as January 23, 2003, the Veterans Affairs Department announced that Vietnam veterans suffering from chronic lymphocytic leukemia probably contracted the disease after exposure to Agent Orange (a defoliant the American army used extensively in the Vietnam War) and were entitled to benefits.

 

Of an estimated 540,000 Gulf War veterans, two out of five are on disability. Not all disability claims are honored. Veterans suffering from what is known as Gulf War Syndrome are encountering the same official blindness to the after-effects of chemical warfare agents. Despite international opposition to weaponized depleted uranium, the Pentagon is still denying its toxic effects and still employs the radioactive substance in shells and armor. (See the article on Depleted Uranium) Despite mounting evidence that the forced inoculations of troops, the Pentagon blandly persists in requiring them.

 

During a press interview in October 2000, the retired commander of French forces in the Gulf War said his French troops took anti-nerve-gas tablets" (pyridostigmine bromide) for four days only. The British and American troops took them for months at a time. General Roquejoffre had never allowed his troops to be inoculated with the untried, controversial American "cocktail" vaccination. British and American troops had all been inoculated. British and American troops who had served in the same areas as the French came down with Gulf War Syndrome, but not a single French soldier suffered from the disease. The Pentagon continues to blow smoke about this issue and still forces troops to be vaccinated.

 

Question: How many retired military officers own stock in the pharmaceutical companies who make components of the "cocktail"? The anthrax vaccine alone goes for $18 a pop.

Like Father, Like Son

John MacArthur, author of Second Front: Censorship and Propaganda in the Gulf War, reminds us that both Bush administrations shared many of the same top officials. "These are all the same people who were running it more than ten years ago," he says. "They’ll make up just about anything-- to get their way."

 

It’s the same old crew, all right, the wonderful folks who brought us the too-soon-forgotten Iran-Contra scandal.

 

Obviously, Big Oil is over-represented in Bush Junior’s administration. The Bushistas, including Vice President Dick Cheney (Halliburton Oil), Commerce Secretary Don Evans (Colorado Oil), National Security Advisor Condoleeza Rice (Chevron), Secretary of Commerce and State Department official Richard Haas, have served as executives and consultants for international oil firms. They have traded valuable stock in companies that extract, refine, and market petroleum. They have profited from companies that build pipelines, obtain drilling concessions, and provision the industry. Enron used to be busy in all those capacities.

 

Robert Zoellick, U.S. Trade Representative, served on Enron's advisory council; I. Lewis Libby, Cheney's Chief of Staff, was a major Enron stockholder; Secretary of the Army Thomas White was an Enron executive for a decade and cashed in millions of dollars in stocks and options before the crash. Karl Rove, Bush Junior’s Gray Eminence, owned about $250,000 worth of Enron stock at the time he conferred with Ken Lay in the White House about Enron’s difficulties with federal regulators.

 

It’s the same old crew, all right, refusing to negotiate, comparing Hussein to Hitler, accusing him of "gassing his own people" although the preponderance of evidence shows that the Iranians gassed the Kurds during the Iran-Iraq War, while the U.S. was supporting the Iraqis.

 

No one should be surprised that the majority of hawks, the men who want to go to war rather than resort to diplomacy, have never seen military service. They managed to avoid the draft during the Vietnam conflict. Vice President Dick Cheney boasts, "I was smart enough to get five deferments." Bush Junior served in the National Guard, went AWOL for most of his enlistment. and somehow avoided imprisonment. Abrams, Card, Perle, Thompson, Wolfowitz, Ashcroft, Rove, Perle, etc.--none of them served, and all of them are eager to draw blood in Iraq.

 

The notable exception is Colin Powell, the only Bushista to have credibility in the realm of tactics, strategy, and diplomacy. Unfortunately, he is in the same position he occupied during Bush Senior’s regime when he repeatedly covered up the Iran-Contra crimes. Against what we hope must be his better judgment, he exercises the same function for Bush Junior.

 

How sad, then, we were to see Powell standing before the United Nations Security Council with a pathetic show-and-tell presentation. The incriminating aerial photographs of Hussein’s hidden weapons facilities could have been a Hollywood set or a Bakersfield truck stop as far as the audience was concerned. The photos required, Powell hastened to explain, expert interpretation. Sigh. Maybe the Pentagon should buy its photos from Soyuz Karta, the commercial Russian satellite.

 

Powell made points when he read earnestly from the thick British intelligence dossier, only to be ridiculed days later when the "intelligence dossier" proved to have been cobbled together from decade-old public sources, such as Jane’s Intelligence Review and an unattributed article from the Middle East Review of International Affairs written by a lecturer at the U.S. Naval Postgraduate School.

 

No, General Powell. You had your chance and you blew it. Instead of holding up the vial of white powder and announcing that Hussein could do a whole bunch of damage with a teaspoonful of this anthrax stuff, you should have thrown your head back, swallowed it, and declaimed, "It is a far, far better thing I do than I have ever done before."

 

It looks like we’ll be hearing about dead babies pretty soon.

BioChemical Weapons On Iraq

AUSTIN and HAMBURG -- Top US military planners are preparing for the US to use incapacitating biochemical weapons in an invasion of Iraq. Secretary of Defense Donald Rumsfeld and Gen. Richard Myers, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, revealed the plans in February 5th testimony before the US House Armed Services Committee.

 

This is the first official US acknowledgement that it may use (bio)chemical weapons in its crusade to rid other countries of such weapons. The Sunshine Project and other nonprofits have warned since late 2001 that the "War on Terrorism" may result in the United States using prohibited biological and chemical armaments, thereby violating the same treaties it purports to defend. The US announcement creates grave concerns for the future of arms control agreements, particularly the Chemical Weapons Convention.

 

Rumsfeld stated that plans are being made for multiple applications, including use of gas or aerosols on unarmed Iraqi civilians, in caves, and on prisoners.
