Satan's Deception
A
Word Study from the Scriptures
The word listed in the Greek of the Strong's Lexicon* under number 2453 having been translated J-e-w by the early translators causes more confusion than any other word in the Bible. The word J-e-w (plural J-e-w-s) is so translated in the New Testament some 187 times in the majority of our English translations. The word J-e-w, however, is a generic or made-up term that should not be in the Bible at all, and I shall prove that fact in this study.
The word (Strong's 2453), in its original languages, means that one is either from the one tribe of Judah or that one is a resident of Judea. And a resident of Judea might be a person of any race or religion. One would simply have to live in the area of Judea to be a Judean. A true Judahite would have to be born from the seed-line of the Patriarch Judah, just as the Lord Jesus Christ was.
If the early translators had transliterated Strong's 2453, that is, if they had exchanged each letter of the Greek word into its equivalent English letter, the word would have looked like this: Ioudaios, which is eight letters, not three like J-e-w. Many words have simply been transliterated in the Bible, causing their actual meanings to be confused. Such is Strong's Greek word number 32, angelos. Number 32 is transliterated into the English as angel. The word angel, however, gives us no information as to the actual meaning of the word. The word means messenger. The messenger can be from God—or from Satan. And too, the messenger can be a human one. John the Baptiser is called a messenger (Strong's 32) by Jesus in Matthew 11.10. And Paul calls himself a messenger (Strong's 32) from God in Galatians 4.14. II Corinthians 11.7 mentions a messenger (Strong's 32) sent by Satan. The shameful transliteration of angelos (Strong's 32) has caused much of the mysticism regarding Divine Messengers. With the following examples we shall prove the inconsistencies which translators have made in translating and transliterating words in our Bibles. Remember, a consistent method is essential for a good translation. Linguists call such a translation a concordant one. Take the English word Hebrew or Hebrews (Strong's 1445). The transliteration is as follows for the singular and plural:

Another clear case of pure transliteration is found in the word Judea (Strg. 2449):

Yet notice what translators have done with the word Ioudaios (Strg. 2453), which means either Judahite or Judean, according to its particular context:

Translators have taken it upon themselves to translate or transliterate at their leisure, aiding Satan's great deception by convincing people that those who today call themselves "Jews" are actually of the same seed-line as the Lord Jesus Christ. But what should we think of the people who claim to be Israelites, yet do not accept Jesus as God and Saviour of the Universe? Should we believe their claims? The Apostle John settles that question for us in 1 John 2.22-23:
A liar is one who denies that Jesus is the Christ. The liar—the one who denies the Father and the Son—has the character of the Antichrist! 2.23. Everyone who denies the Son cannot have the Father. The one who acknowledges the Son also has the Father!
When studying the Scriptures, the above verses should be a foundation stone concerning what and whom we believe. And when commentators and translators disregard these verses by taking the word of "liars," such as the ones who claim descent from the tribes of Israel, yet reject Christ—and are indeed His most virulent adversaries—we must reject the places in their commentaries and translations where they have believed these "liars"!
Over the centuries the ever-evolving English language, has added letters and spellings that have varied greatly since the Authorised Version of the King James Bible appeared in 1611. At that time Strg. 2453 was spelled Iewe (plural Iewes) instead of J-e-w or J-e-w-s. The Lord's name was spelled Iesus instead of Jesus. John was Iohn; the river Jordan was Iordane; Judea was Iudea. (Obviously the English letter J was not in use at the time.) And spellings of other words have changed too. For example, the words up and upon were spelled vp and vpon; the word dove was doue; Thessalonians was Theffalonians; delusion was delufion; strange was ftrange; even was euen; believe was beleeue; Jehoshaphat was Iehofhaphat. Translators neither translated Strong's Greek number 2453 nor transliterated it. The word J-e-w (which evolved over the centuries into its modern spelling) translators placed into the Bible because a people exist who call themselves by that name—and they claim that the word encompasses all twelve tribes of Israel. But where is the Scriptural authority to make the word J-e-w a synonymous term for all the tribes of Israel? Obviously, no Scriptural authority exists which gives us the right to use the word J-e-w as an all-encompassing term for all the seed-line of Israel.
But you might think that the doctrine came from one of the people who called himself an Israelite. He was an early “historian,” and he was not a Christian. In fact he was a Pharisee! His name was Josephus. And he began the false doctrine which claims that the one word that means either Judahite or Judean should be used for all twelve tribes of Israel (Josephus, Ant. xi, 5-6), today translated/interpreted J-e-w. And although Jesus, John, Luke, and Paul always make a sharp distinction between Israel and the Judean scribes and Pharisees “who killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets (I Thessalonians 2.15),” traditional Christendom has accepted Josephus’s word without questioning it in the least. And this fact remains true even though some scholars such as McClintock and Strong have noted that the word originally covered only the tribe of Judah, and that it was Josephus who invented the idea of having the word cover all the tribes (pg. 905 Vol. IV, McClintock & Strong Cyclopaedia of Biblical, Theological, & Ecclesiastical Literature).
So the Hebrew and Greek word can neither be properly translated nor transliterated into the word today spelled J-e-w. It is a deception and Yet, although the Apostle John clearly warned us that "anyone who does not accept Jesus as the Christ is a liar," most translators, commentators, Bible historians, preachers, and traditional Christians believe the people who make the claim that the word J-e-w is a term which does indeed encompass all the tribes!
Our conclusion is that we should never use the word J-e-w except when quoting someone who has used it! And then we are better off calling it the "J-word." For it is unquestionably a major part of Satan's deception, and none of us should aid him in it! What Satan managed to do with the J-word was rather ingenious to say the least. He realised that he could not have the word transliterated, which according to consistency would also properly translate it into Judean or Judahite. If his translators had done that, the average Bible students' antennae would have immediately shot up! They would have asked, If one is from the tribe of Judah and the other simply a resident of Judea, then who and where are the other eleven tribes? So Satan invented a generic term for the world of Judeo-Christianity to use, where the word “Jew” has thus so easily slithered into our English translations.
And how can translators reconcile translating the verb Ioudaidzo (Strg. 2450) with "to live as do the Jews," as the King James translators did in Galatians 2.14? The verb Ioudaidzo (Strg. 2450) means "to take up the laws of the Judean Scribes and Pharisees." And when the word is transliterated into the English word Judaize by later translators, we might ask how they can transliterate Ioudaidzo (Strg. 2450) in Galatians 2.14, and in the same verse translate Ioudaios (Strg. 2453) with the word J-e-w! A consistent translation requires both words either to be translated or transliterated.
The
following is what several historians, linguists, and religious authors have to
say about "Judaism" and its origins and who the people are today who
call themselves “J-e-w-s”:
"Judaism
was not evolved from Judah; it was in Babylon that Judaism first became that
which it was and still is."
The authors
conclude that, "The
distinction between Israel and Judah can best be expressed in the phrase,
which may sound paradoxical, but yet aptly characterises the true relationship
of the two people: The Israelites were not Jews!" (Harmsworth,
History Of The World. Vol. 1,
781-4)
“Strictly
speaking, it is incorrect to call an ancient Israelite a Jew or to call a
contemporary Jew an Israelite or Hebrew.”

The absurdity of using the generic term J-e-w instead of Judahite or Judean, to represent collectively both those born from the tribe of Judah and those who are residents of Judea is easily seen in the following example: The Greek word translated J-e-w in most Bibles is Ioudaios (which is derived from Strg. Greek 2455, Ioudas, English Judah). And the main Hebrew word is Yehudiy, Strg. Hebrew 3064 (which is derived from Strg. Hebrew 3063, Yehudah, English Judah). Both base words are the terms for the patron of the tribe of Judah. But instead of being called Judahites, we are to believe that Judah's offspring are J-e-w-s. If that translation is proper, then in order to be consistent, the offspring of the tribe of Ephraim, instead of becoming Ephraimites, should become Eews! Benjamin's offspring should be known as Bews instead of Benjamites! Instead of Levites, Levi's offspring should become Lews! Simeon's children would become Sews instead of Simeonites! And Zebulunites would become Zews! Make any sense? Well, that is exactly that which has taken place in our English Bibles.
Yet, as ridiculous as it would be to call a Benjamite a "Bew," it is no more ridiculous than the fact that most translators, commentators, and Bible historians tell us that the word J-e-w circumscribes all twelve tribes! We might also ask why Judah (Strg. Hebrew 3063), which is first used in Genesis 29.35, is not translated J-e-w. If his offspring are to be J-e-w-s, then it should follow that his name would have been J-e-w. But if that had been done, Satan could not have used the word J-e-w to represent all twelve tribes! Every Bible student would have known that the word J-e-w represented only one tribe; and then Satan would have had to invent another word to represent all twelve tribes.
Below are the Scriptures where Strg. 2453 is used in the N.T. It is properly translated with the words Judahite or Judean. Remember! A Judahite is a person who is a member of the one tribe of Judah by birth. Therefore, when the word Judean is used, it simply means that one is a resident of Judea or is from the land of Judea, and the word has absolutely no implication as to what race the person is.
Most of the time, however, the people addressed in the Bible as Judeans are not true Judahites! That is, they are not actually from any of the tribes of Israel by birth. They are an admixture of most all the races, just as Luke tells us in Acts 2.5 & 10-22 where he informs us that there are people among the Judeans from “every race under the sky.”
Take the time to go through the Bible that you read the most and scratch through the word J-e-w or J-e-w-s, and replace it with either Judahite or Judean! Do it and you will extinguish Satan's fiery darts of confusion. Read your Bible in this light and see the difference and note the clarity and constant flow of thought.
Matthew: The word in the following verses should be translated Judahites: 2.2; 27.11; 27.29; 27.37. In this one verse it should be Judeans: 28.15.
Mark: Judahites in 7.3; 15.2,9,12,18,26.
Luke: Judahites in 7.3; 23.3,37,38,51.
John: Judean in 5.1; 7.2; 11.55. Judeans in these verses except where the word is used more than one time in a particular verse and then the proper translation is thus set off in parenthesis: 1.19; 2.6,13,18,20; 3.25; 4.9 (twice in this order: Judean & Judeans); 5.10,15,16,18; 6.41,52; 7.1,11, 13,15,35; 8.22,31,48,52,57; 9.18,22 (Judeans twice); 10.19,24,31, 10.33; 11.8,54; 12.9; 13.33; 18.12,14,20,31,36,38; 19.7,12,14,20,21 (three times in this order: Judeans, Judahites, & Judahites), 19.31, 19.38, 19.42, 20.19.

Judahites in 3.1; 4.22 (The proper translation of the last phrase of this verse is "because Salvation originates from the Judahites"; the phrase refers to Christ who came from the tribe of Judah), 6.4; 11.19,31,33,36,45; 12.11; 18.33,39, 19.3,19,40.
Acts: Judean in 13.6; 19.14; 24.24 (it is feminine here, but Judean is fine), 24.27.

In Acts 10.22, in the King James Bible the phrase "among all the nation of Jews" should be translated "all the races among the Judeans." This phrase without a doubt proves that there were many races of people among the Judeans. In Acts 21.39 Judahite. In Romans 11.1 Paul tells us he is from the tribe of Benjamin, and then see I Corinthians 9.20 where he states that he "became as a Judahite to please the Judeans, in order to benefit the Judahites."
Romans: Judahite in 1.16; 2.9,10,16,28,29; 3.1; 10.12.
Judahites in 3.9,29; 9.24.
I Corinthians: Judeans in 1.22; 10.32. Judahites in 1.23; 12.13.
In I Corinthians 9.20 the verse should read, "And I became as a Judahite to the Judeans, that I might benefit Judahites."
II Corinthians: Judeans in 11.24. By beginning to read where the subject starts at II Cor. 11.19, it is obvious that in this verse Paul did not accept the people whom he called Judeans as either Israelites or Hebrews.
Galatians: Judeans in Galatians 2.13. Judahite in 3.28. Judahites in 2.15. In 2.14 the word is used three times in this order: Judahite, Judeans, & Judeans.
Colossians: Judahite in 3.11.
I Thessalonians: Judeans in 2.14. This is one of the most important verses in the Scriptures, informing us as to who killed our Lord, the Prophets, and what their fate is. Read it and think of what the future brings for these hybrid offspring of Satan. And rejoice!
I Thessalonians 2.14-16:
For you, brothers, became imitators of the Ever-Living’s Assemblies at Judea, those who are in union with Christ Jesus, because you certainly suffered the same persecutions by your own people, just as they certainly suffered persecutions by the Judeans, who indeed killed the Lord Jesus and the prophets, and brutally persecute us. Certainly God is displeased with them. And being hostile toward all mankind, so as to fill their sins to the limit at all times, they try to stop us from telling the races that they can be saved. But God’s wrath will come on them at the end!
Revelation: Judahites in 2.9 & 3.9.
In the Old Testament it is better to use Judean (singular) and Judeans (plural) in every place that Strg. Hebrew 3062, 3064, and 3066 are used, because when the Hebrew wants to specify that people are from the tribe of Judah it will use a phrase such as "the men of Judah," which, for example, is found in Jeremiah 43.9. There are only a couple of exceptions, and they’re marked. Below are the Scriptures where you should place either Judean or Judeans:
II Kings: 16.6; 18.26,28; 25.25.
II Chronicles: 32.18.
Ezra: 4.12,23; 5.1,5; 6.7,8,14.
Nehemiah: 1.2; 2.16; 4.1,2,12; 5.17.
5.1,8; 6.6; 13.23,24: Judahites.
Esther: 2.5; 3.4,6,10,13; 4.3,7,13,14,16; 5.13; 6.10,13, 8.1,3,5,7,8,9,11, 13,16,17, 9.1,2,3,5,6,10,12,13,15,16,18,19,20,22, 23,24,25,27,28,29,30,31; 10.3.
Isaiah: 36.11,13.
Jeremiah: 32.12; 34.9; 38.19; 40.11,12,15; 41.3; 44.1; 52.28,30.
Daniel: 3.8,12.

The lesson we should learn from this study is that we must all search the Scriptures regularly and prayerfully, allowing our Lord's Spirit to guide us—never receiving a tradition as truth! Thus we must follow the orders which the Lord gave to the Judean Scribes and Pharisees in John 5.39: Search the Scriptures, because you think them to contain ever-existing life. Indeed, they testify about Me! The Judahites at Berea did just that very thing when Paul and Silas presented the Message to them in Acts 17. Notice their actions in the following passage:
Acts 17.10-11 So the brothers at once sent both Paul and Silas to Berea during the night, and after their arrival they went into the Judean synagogue. But these were racially pure—not like those at Thessalonika! So they accepted the Message, being in an impassioned state concerning It—daily examining the Scriptures in order to verify the teachings.
Follow the examples set forth for us in the Scriptures. Never use the J-word except when quoting someone! Never receive anything as truth from anyone who does not accept Jesus as the Christ! Never accept anything about the Scriptures from people who believe anything that the "liars" claim. Then, the Ever-Living will gush forth blessings upon your Spirit—for the ageless ages! As stated above, make the following Scriptures your foundation for deciding whether you can believe someone or whether you must doubt all he says:

If
people meet the requirements in the above Scriptures, then give them the
benefit of not doubting them. If
they do not, doubt them immediately regardless of from whom they may claim
descent!
*Strong’s Lexicon: In this study, I have used the numbering system set up by James Strong in his 19th century lexicon and concordance. This numbering system allows English readers to look up and study both Hebrew and Greek words which they could not otherwise find because of the language difference. Strong’s is not, however, to be used to translate, for as a rule it gives only general definitions. Proper translation can only be carried out by specific methods, by the study of words and phrases in their specific and general contexts, by the study of the particular author and his normal usage of the word or phrase, by the word or phrase’s extra biblical usage, and etc.
· A SEMITE (or "Shemite") is someone descended from Shem, one of the sons of Noah.
· A HEBREW (or "Eber") is someone descended from Heber one of the great-grandsons of Shem. So all Hebrews are Semites, but not all Semites are Hebrews.
Six generations after Heber, Abraham was born to his line, so Abraham was both a Hebrew and a Semite, born of the line of Heber and Shem. Isaac was born of Abraham, then Jacob of Isaac. Jacob's name was changed to "Israel," and he fathered 12 sons. His sons and their descendants are called Israelites, and they would be both Semitic and Hebrew. Many non-Israelites were called “Jews” (Judahites, Judeans) simply because they lived in Judah or claimed to follow the religion of the Judeans. The self-styled or so-called "Jews" of Judaism today are not, nor ever have been Israelites, Hebrews or Semites but rather Chazars (Turkish Mongol Huns). There is a veritable mountain of evidence, even from Jewish sources that clearly confirms the Jews non-Semitic heritage.

New
York Times article Reveals that European-Descended Jews are Counterfeits and
have no Blood line to Abraham!
The fact that most of those who call themselves Jews are not Jews (Rev. 2:9) and have no claim to the lands of Palestine because they have no genetic relation to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob can no longer be suppressed. The October 29, 1996 N.Y. Times, in an article entitled, "Scholars Debate Origins of Yiddish and the Migrations of Jews," states:
"Arching over these questions is the central mystery of just where the Jews of Eastern Europe came from. Many historians believe that there were not nearly enough Jews in Western Europe to account for the huge population that later flourished in Poland, Lithuania, Ukraine and nearby areas.
"By reconstructing the Yiddish mother tongue, linguists hope to plot the migration of the Jews and their language with a precision never possible before.
"It has even been suggested, on the basis of linguistic evidence, that the Jews of Eastern Europe were not predominantly part of the Diaspora from the Middle East, but were members of another ethnic group that adopted Judaism.
"...One linguist has recently argued that Yiddish began as a Slavic language that was 'relexified,' with most of its vocabulary replaced with German words.
"...Even more troublesome are demographic studies indicating that during the Middle Ages there were no more than 25,000 to 35,000 Jews in Western Europe. These figures are hard to reconcile with other studies showing that by the 17th century there were hundreds of thousands of Jews in Eastern Europe.
"...Some scholars believe the roots of Yiddish, and even the Ashkenazi people themselves, lie much farther east. In his 1976 book, “The Thirteenth Tribe,” Arthur Koestler made the startling suggestion, never taken seriously by linguists, that the Eastern European Jews were not really Semitic -- that they were largely descended from the Turkish Chazars, who converted en masse to Judaism in medieval times.
"More recently, Koestler's controversial thesis has been revived and expanded in a 1993 book, The Ashkenazic 'Jews': A Slavo-Turkic People in Search of a Jewish Identity (Slavica Publishers), by Dr. Paul Wexler, a Tel Aviv University linguist.
"Wexler uses a reconstruction of Yiddish to argue that it began as a Slavic language whose vocabulary was largely replaced with German words. Going even further, he contends that the AshkeNAZI Jews are predominantly converted Slavs and Turks who merged with a tiny population of Palestinian Jews from the Diaspora."

All
the apostles were expecting the return of Jesus Christ in a relatively short
time period. From their letters you can see they thought it would occur in the
lifetime of most of their readers. They
therefore expected the antichrist even sooner!! The description of the
antichrist in John's letters describe a person or
people
already present in the world AT THAT TIME!
The
foremost opposition to the Gospel in the days of the Apostles are the same
group which are the main opposition to Jesus Christ today.

In the earthly life and ministry of our Lord, He encountered much opposition as He travelled throughout the ancient land of Palestine in doing the work that His Father sent Him to do. During the first century the land of Palestine where Jesus lived and ministered was divided into three Roman provinces. They were Galilee to the north where Jesus lived as a child and began His ministry; Samaria located in central Palestine where He ministered to the woman at the well in John chapter 4; and Judea to the south where He encountered most of His opposition from the leadership of the Jewish nation and was eventually illegally tried, falsely convicted and crucified as a result of the scheming efforts of the Jews and their manipulation of the Roman civil authorities. In the Gospel of John the Apostle records the masterful discourse of Jesus that He gave concerning His equality with God and His manifestation as being the living bread sent down from heaven (chapters 5-6). After giving this discourse and seeing the open anger of the Jews in response to His message, He left Judea where Jewish Pharisaism was in total control, and returned to Galilee, which offered Him more personal safety. John records:
The Jewish leadership, which included Scribes, Pharisees, Sadducees, Chief Priests and the Sanhedrin heckled and taunted the Lord Jesus as He conducted His teaching and healing ministry among the people. Their purpose was to catch Him in heresy and blasphemy and eventually use it as evidence against Him at His trial (Luke 20:19-26). "...

Talmud The
Talmud is a vast literary work written by Jewish Rabbis that
contains civil and religious law. It is not a part of the inspired
sacred Scripture. The Palestinian Talmud was written in the 3rd
century AD, while the Babylonian Talmud was written around 500 AD.
It contains discussions concerning every aspect of Jewish life and

The
Lord's half brother, Jude, whose actual Israelite name is Yuda, has written an
importunate letter for Christians of all eras. Rather than consoling us
about the Lord's saving works, he is urgently warning us about the impostors
who live among us, eat with us, work along side us, marry into our families,
rule over us in our government and courts, and always claim to be on our side
- yet are really our mortal enemies.
Just as Jude was, almost all the early Christians were Israelites or
Judahites, as were all the original Apostles; and it is the true House of
Israel that brought the world the Christ-Message, and a small remnant
continues doing so today. That remnant listens to God's warnings, while
the rest of the true House of Israel sleeps a deep sleep that their enemy
placed on them through 2000 years of brainwashing. It shall remain
thus until the Lord's Return!
Jude informs us quickly that these impostors reject the Lord Jesus as the
Sovereign God and Saviour. That's the first indication of who these
impostors are. So now ask yourself, Which race is famous for that?
Toward Jude's goal of writing an importunate warning, he has left us with a
powerful and informative letter - one that should make all believers sit up
and take a more thorough view of their surroundings.
Most of the Christian world, however, has not paid any attention to these
warnings, and so, worship the Christ-haters instead of the Christ. Most
Christians today are content to accept their particular denominations'
modified form of salivation (and with it all its ritual stipulations), and
willingly ignore the hundreds of warnings about their common enemy - and so
because of that, don't even recognize who their enemy is.
Jude has left us many keys and tip-offs as to exactly who these impostors are.
One we find in the word I've translated "impious," a word Jude
uses a total of six times in his short letter. It has the equivalent
meaning to a Hebrew word used way back in Deuteronomy, and it means in that
context someone who knows there's a God, yet has no respect or regard for Him
or His teachings.
God uses the word in that sense when informing Moses what He's going to do to
our people because of their lack of faith in Him and their desertion from Him.
Succinctly, He says He's going to turn this impious race loose on us as
our punishment - He will make them powerful and us powerless.
Don't think that hasn't happened. For no matter what part of the world
you live in these impostors control most of your government, its laws, it
court decisions, and its foreign policies. They control the value of
your money through the Federal Reserve Bank. They also strongly affect
the ways your ministers teach about Christ and Who He is, because most of our
people believe their blasphemous claim that they come from the same genetic
seed-line as Moses, Jakob, king David, our Lord, and all the Divine Couriers!
Don't let any preacher or any person tell you that He's taken that curse of
punishment off of us in "this age of grace" - by means of the Cross
or otherwise! He's not retracted that punishment! For it is grace
to us that God is punishing us. God punishes only those He loves!
But irrespective of how this punishment affects us and our lives and the
people and world around us, it is our duty to take the Scriptural warnings
regarding these impostors seriously, and not allow them to pull us away from
our true heritage and from our Lord and God, Jesus Christ.
So take note of every trait that Jude tells you about these beasts, for they
are wily and subtle in their deceit, and we need all the help we can get to
stay clear of their slanderous lies and satanic doctrines.
Notice what the Lord says to Moses concerning what He will do to our people
for their apostasies; and notice His use of the word I've translated
"impious":
Deuteronomy 32.20-21:
20. And the Ever-Living exclaimed: "I shall hide My face from them - I
shall see how they windup - For they are *a corrupt race - sons who have no
faith!

They provoked Me with a counterfeit god - They made Me furious with their
vanities - So then I shall provoke them with a counterfeit race! I shall make
them furious by means of an impious race.
*a corrupt race with no faith!: This is what God says about our people! Notice
the definite difference between the two races mentioned here - one is corrupt
and has no faith in their Redeemer even though He's shown them much favour;
the other knows He exists, yet has no respect or regard for Him, which is
exactly like their progenitors Satan and Kain. The former race He still
loves and thus punishes; the latter race He has no feeling for and only uses
them as whips on the backs of His people.
*a counterfeit race/an impious race: Notice the two words modifying the word
race: they are counterfeit (fakes) in the sense that they claim to be a race
that they are not; and they are impious because they have no respect for our
God - they work night and day trying to pervert every good thing He's done.
These are the same impious impostors who during the Lord's time went by the
titles Pharisees, Sadducees, Scribes, and Scripture Lawyers, and who
persecuted the Lord at every turn, eventually murdered Him, then continued
their evil work by terrorizing the Divine Couriers and eventually murdered all
of them. Today they continue to be the race that causes divisions among
our people, just as Jude informs us in verse 19.
Jude's message is that they live among us today! They haven't gone
anywhere! They're still here among us as you read! And although he
does not say to rid ourselves of them, we are still to beware of them - to
realize who they are, and to avoid following their evil teachings. To do
that you must know them, their teachings, and their character traits.
As a last point on exactly who these people are, Jude notes in verse four that
these impostors deny the Lord Jesus - so as you read this letter ask yourself,
What one singular race is both adamant about denying the Lord and is also
famous for it?

Introduction
Jude,
a slave belonging to Jesus Christ, and a brother of James, to those called

2. Compassion, peace, and love be increased to you!
Purpose of the Letter
3. Loved-Ones, having been in the process of making every effort to
write to you about the common salvation, I received a need to write to you
urging you to fight diligently for the faith which has been
delivered once and for all to the Separated-Ones.
4. For certain people have sneaked in among you, the ones who
were written about long ago for the purpose of the following condemnation:
impious people attempting to pervert the grace granted to us by the
Ever-Living into unrestrained lawlessness - even denying the only
Sovereign-Lord God, indeed our Lord Jesus Christ.
Three Examples from the Old Testament Serve as Warnings
5. Now I want to remind you, your having once understood the following
things: that the Lord delivered a people out of the land of Egypt; secondly,
He destroyed those not believing.
6. And also those fallen-angels who did not stay in their realm
of rule, but on the contrary, having deserted their own residence, He has held
them under darkness in eternal chains, for the purpose of punishing them
on the Great Day He returns.
7. In a similar manner to the fallen-angels, just as Sodom and Gomorrah
and the cities around them indulged in unnatural passions - even having chased
after the same sex - they are displayed before all as a fiery,
ever-existing warning. They are undergoing a judicial sentence.
The Three Sins of the Impious
8. In spite of these warnings, in the same way these
self-deluders also certainly defile the flesh, and reject our authority,
and slander honourable Christians.
How Michael Handles Satan
9. But Michael the archangel, when disputing with the devil - he argued
about the body of Moses - he dared not bring a slanderous verdict against
him, but instead, said: "The Lord rebuke you!"
The Impious Understand the Physical Not the Spiritual
10. But what things they do not comprehend, they slander. And
what things they understand physically - like unreasoning animals - they are
corrupted by these things.
Doom to and of the Impious
11. Extreme anguish to them, because they travelled the way Kain went,
and poured themselves out to the same deceit Balaam committed for money, and
perished at the rebellion Korah led against Moses!
Jude's Graphic Description of the Impostors
12. These people are hidden reefs dining with you in your love-feasts,
irreverently gorging themselves. They are empty clouds blown about by various
winds. They are late-autumn trees - barren, doubly decayed, plucked up
by their roots.
13. They are wild sea waves foaming up their shameful deeds. They
are wandering stars for whom the darkest blackness has been preserved for
a certain age.
The Previously Predicted Doom of the Impious
14. And Enoch, the seventh from Adam, prophesied about these
too, declaring, "Pay attention: the Lord is coming with His
separated myriads, to carry out judgment upon everyone,
15. and to convict all the impious people for all of their
impious deeds which they impiously committed, and for all the harsh things the
impious sinners spoke against Him."
Further Description of the Impious
16. These people are complainers, faultfinders, walking according
to their own lusts. Also, their mouth speaks arrogant words,
faking flatteries on you for gain.
Orders to Keep Previous Warnings in Mind
17. But you, loved ones, keep in mind the teachings which were
foretold by the Couriers sent by our Lord Jesus Christ, because they
continually informed you of the following:
18. that in the last period scoffers will exist, walking
according to their own impious lusts.
Final Description of the Deceivers
19. These people are the ones who cause divisions - animals -
not having a soul.
Jude's Final Orders to Christians
20. But you, loved ones, edifying yourselves by means of
your separated faith, praying in a separated spirit, you must keep yourselves
in union with the love which comes from God,
21. eagerly awaiting the compassion which comes from our Lord Jesus
Christ and that carries us into ever-existing life.

I...took the train homewards, to Jaffa. The train carried a few Africans, probably illegal immigrants judging by their shy looks. A Romanian building team was gulping beer and burping loudly. They were imported from their impoverished East European land to build the houses for immigrants, as the Jews do not want to be employed in construction in Israel as well as in California. A Jewish Israeli lawyer in black yarmulke leafed papers in his semi-opened briefcase. A blond and armed Israeli soldier talked Ukrainian with its fricative h's to his corpulent girlfriend. He extolled his own heroic fight against the multitude of Arab terrorists under her admiring eyes. A group of Moroccans discussed the closure of Acre steel plant and their slim chances to find another job. The crisis is deepening, one of them said - it is as bad as in 1966. The train rode through Haifa, and I thought of hundreds of thousands, maybe millions of Americans, Jews and Christian Zionists, who lobby, pray, support and pay - no, not for the Jewish state built on the ruins of Palestine. It would be bad enough; but reality is worse. I thought of millions of Palestinians, rotting in refugee camps and jails, dispossessed, expelled - not by the monster of evil occupation and land grabbing, but by something worse - by a ghost. The Jewish state is a virtual state that quickly loses all remaining connection to reality. This ghost of a state kills people and collects money in America; it continues some nefarious existence, like the legal term, "estate of the deceased". Its fields are worked by imported guest workers, guarded by imported Russians and Ethiopians, explained by Israeli professors teaching forever in American universities and by brave generals on the lookout for a big shake. Unemployment grows daily, vital services are on strike; the tourist industry has collapsed, hotels are boarded up and other branches of national economy are close to collapse. Israelis buy flats in Florida and Prague, while houses in Israel could not be sold. Sharon's desire to punish Palestinians was similar to punishing one's own left hand: Palestinians and Israelis are intertwined and integrated, and this separation kills the economy of both. From far away America, Israel looks like a giant, a nuclear state, a great friend of the United States, a Jewish state that is a source of pride for American Jews. A visitor leaves our shores with a strong feeling of our identity and prosperity. Only we, permanent residents, know that it is a cardboard sham. Israel is collapsing, as its active citizens emigrate in despair, while generals complete the destruction of the country. A cruel fate befalls the native Palestinians: a ghost kills them, a spiritless body walking in Zombie-like trance the corridors of the Congress and the deserts of the Middle East. For the sake of this spectre, important American Jews squeeze every penny from their employees and countrymen, cut down on pensions to the old, no assistance for children, reduce the health and education budget, dry up help to starving Africa and Latin America, build improbable coalitions with notorious racists of Pat Robertson's kind, demand the wholesale destruction of Iraq, bless the bombing of Afghani refugees, keep Afro-Americans in their ghettos, undermine their host society, making enemies of themselves and to America. These deeds are vile enough, but they are useless as well. The Zionist experiment has practically collapsed. It can run for many years to come on a life-supporting machine as a brain-dead vegetable. It can kill people, maybe even start a world war. It cannot become alive. The Jewish state of Israel is a state of mind; it is but a projection of the American Jewish mind. Worries and problems it articulates are American Jewish problems. For Israeli "Jews", there is no need of segregation, of war, of subjugation of natives. We eat no bagels with lox, speak no Yiddish, read no Saul Bellow or Sholom Aleichem, and avoid synagogues. We prefer Arab food and Greek music. My neighbourhood has seven pork butchers to a kosher one. Forty per cent of Tel Aviv weddings are done outside the Jewish framework: young Israelis prefer to go to Cyprus to get married, just to avoid contact with Rabbis. Tel Aviv is the gays' capital of the Middle East, though according to Jewish law, gays should be exterminated. If American Jews would not bribe Israelis on a large scale, we would just forget about the Diaspora and dissolve into the hospitable Middle East. If they continue to bankroll us, we shall oblige them with a small show of Jewishness. We are master-sellers of illusion, and as long as there are buyers, we shall provide. In 1946, a group of dedicated men from all over the world came to Palestine under the aegis of the UN. They were sent to prepare the ground for the partition of the land. Among other places, they came to the southernmost kibbutz Revivim in the arid Negev, and came across a wonderful flowerbed with roses, anemones, and violets in front of the kibbutz office. In their report, the members of the delegation expressed their amazement and stated, "Jews make the desert bloom, let them have Negev." As they left, the kibbutz youngsters went out and pulled the flowers out of the sand: they had bought fresh flowers the same morning on the Jaffa market and had planted them as props for the duration of the visit. This small outlay transferred Negev with its two hundred thousand Palestinians to the Jewish state. The Majority of them were expelled across the newly drawn border, to the camps of Gaza or Jordan. It was cruel and useless: even now, fifty years later, Negev south of Beersheba has a smaller population than in 1948. In order to populate depopulated lands, Mossad broke and terrorised the Jewish communities of North Africa. The Jews were brought in, sprayed with DDT lice-killer and placed into refugee camps that soon became towns of Netivot, Dimona, Yerucham. They are still there, in the towns of unemployment and misery, drawing social benefits and probably disliking Ashkenazi Jews as much as anybody could. Not in vain, they write "Ashkenazim to Auschwitz" on the walls of their towns. A few weeks before the Intifadah, Israeli establishment imprisoned a hugely popular leader of Oriental Jews, Rabbi Arie Deri. Tens of thousands of Moroccans gathered at the gates of the jail demanding his release. Intifada saved the skins of Ashkenazi Jews from the civil war, but not forever. Thus the conjuring tricks of Revivim, conquest of Negev, expulsion of Palestinians, destruction of Moroccan Jewish community succeeded separately and failed altogether. Zionist leaders dreamed to make Palestine as Jewish as England is English. They failed. Palestine is Jewish as Jamaica is English. The land of Palestine is being ruined now, in front of our eyes. Its beautiful old villages are bombed to oblivion; churches are emptied of their flock; olives are uprooted. Such ruin did not befall the land since the Assyrian invasion 2700 years ago. Nothing could comfort us in the face of this great destruction, and certainly the people connected to it - whether Israeli killers or their American Jewish supporters - will be damned forever. Still, a wry irony of history will remain as a footnote in the books of the future: the Jewish leadership committed these crimes in vain, and received no profit out of it. I
am a Christian who came to Israel with a deep awareness--instilled by my
parents and my academic background--of the horrific abuses the Church has
inflicted on Jews for two millennia.
In
the winter and spring of 1995, under the auspices of my organization,
Christian Peacemaker Teams (CPT), I visited with numerous Israelis and
Palestinians involved in peace and human rights work. After meeting with
grassroots organizers in the West Bank city of Hebron, we received an
invitation from the mayor's office to set up a project there.
I
knew before the project started in June 1995 that my knowledge of the history
of Christian anti-Semitism would be both a burden and a tool. On the whole, my
knowledge has been a useful tool that has helped our team in Hebron establish
warm relationships with dozens of Israeli peace and human rights activists. It
has helped us connect Israelis with Palestinians who are facing home
demolition and ongoing harassment from Israeli soldiers and settlers. To do
our work, our team has had to open ourselves to the pain and suffering that
begat the pain and suffering that begat the pain and suffering ad infinitum.
But
at the moment, I only feel the "burden" part. I am tired and sick at
heart from what I have seen over the last two years, and I have done almost
nothing for the last three days besides deal with the fallout from death
threats that some Kachnik--probably at the behest of the Hebron settlers--has
made against my co-workers there.
When
I first sent Tikkun my reflection piece on Israel at fifty, I tried to convey
my ambivalence--how I juggle my relationships with Israelis and Palestinians,
my evangelical/fundamentalist upbringing, the realities of what I see, and the
historical context that gave rise to Zionism.
